Yeah, I don’t think too many people under 40-50 aside from some guitar players give a crap about this kind of music. Bummer

    • @musicproductioncentral4540

SRV's audience is old and tired now. Phil needs his own style. He's been using Stevie's for decades. THat's why he's playing small clubs for drunk people.

He's incredible, but he's stuck on SRV, as are many. Fantastic guitarists leave a legacy like that, and it's great, but ultimately if all you are is cloning someone else, that void is pretty much infinitely filled by the person you're copying. You have to take it another direction, like John Mayer has. He's very much learned to become his own player, and is furthermore a very advanced songwriter (Not doing just straight blues, which is great, but won't earn you a crowd outside of people who are into blues).

    No, he's not a clone.
We ALL are derivatives of those who we listened to...those who came before.
Btw, your personal sound comes out of your hands. If you haven't got it, your gear will not cover for you
Phillip's got it...and his singing is perfectly congruent. This guy is the package..

I would be right at the front getting my face melted. What a Guitar Master who humbly acknowledges his influence through his playing. Haters don't get it that the greatest compliment you could pay another musician is to play their licks and then turn it into your thing.
❤️ his tone, shredding, efx, attitude. PS slays, right up there with current Guitar Gods Eric Gales, Joe Bonamassa
    Keep slaying
