I know this isn't the context of this video but, is it necessary to upgrade your battery wires, positive, ground and starter wire when upgrading to a 3g alternator?
As long as your battery is in good shape and the battery cables are good and mounted in the correct locations, you should be ok. The negative battery cable should be mounted to the block at the corner nearest the battery. Starter wire should be ok too.
Do you notice any charging issues when using that turnbuckle style belt tensioner? I'm curious because after doing a drop test of my alternator it's fluctuating from .07 volts up to .15 volts. I heard anything over .1 is not good and means I have a ground problem.

Deleting the tensioner wouldn’t cause any issues. Just more a pain to install/remove the belt.
