Just come across this channel, this guy is brilliant, knowledge of Thai food is second to none, better than me! I am Thai living in U.K. for 50 years! 😢😢 You deserve a medal 🏅 from the Thai government for promoting Thai food .
Sawadee kup Gary! I've only started watching your videos a few weeks ago and have come to truly appreciate them! I'm now a big fan! Kap kuhn kap! A little about me: I was born in Bangkok to a Thai mother and white American father but we moved back to the States after the end of the Vietnam War when I was only 2 years old. I spent a part of my childhood with my mother who always cooked Thai food, my favorite being larb nua pet mach mach. However, I eventually moved with my father to Utah and basically lost all of my Thai knowledge which I really regretted. My father took me to Thai restaurants once in a while but it wasn't until I moved out on my own that I started to rediscover my Thai heritage, especially the food! I can eat Thai food everyday. But I just wanted to thank you for your wonderful videos of Thailand and of course the food. Man you put me to shame the way you speak Thai so freely! By the way, sorry about England, I really thought they could beat France!
The intro was awesome with the music. I agree terminal 21 the ship has sailed. The famous Ruam Sab Market in Asoke, things are definitely back to normal and that is a great thing for the economy and small businesses 🙏❤. As always, thank you for showcasing these small businesses Gary, you are a legend mate
You do a great presentation of all this delicious food ! i love Thai food and could only imagine how tasty all your different meals are 😋Thank you Gary for bringing BKK`s diff. places, some are stunning with amazing cooks👍....in Jan. i will finally eat my fav. food in BKK in real
Hey Gary. First week away from Thailand I skipped some videos because I was missing it (and my gf) something awful. Really love the content though and I’m back to add more stops for my next trip. Thanks as always, brother.❤
Now the Red cross Fair festival is held at Lumphini Park , it is a carnival with lots stalls and theme park's rides inside (properly come at night) please attend before is end on 18 December.
We are so glad you ate the last noodle dish! We ate at that stall many times on our last trip... I think you may have lucked out that day with the pork, as it's usually Amazing. There was also another stall there with these thick pancake type things, with fillings like pandan or taro. Sooo delicious 😋
That Kanom Jiin Nam Ngiao looks like when I make pho for brunch (and mine is definitely more Thai than Vietnamese, call it Faux pho). Probably tastes pretty much the same. I'm amazed at the food and the prices for that side of Mae Nam. The rest of the dishes weren't bad either, and again it comes down to personal taste. Two things that always strike me: I can often smell the dishes just watching your videos (the Kanom Jiin for one, and the cucumbers on the other dish), and the second thing is that our cat always wakes up and is ready to eat, scratching my jeans, when he hears your voice talking about food. 👍😍
Never heard of Hot or Slow Latte before and as a shift worker I drink a lot of coffee, I 'm one who is also here for the coffee so would like to see more related to this. One of your best videos is the Sri Racha one, that was very interesting. The Thai bolognese looked delicious, my sort of food.
Great video, amazing view, delicious food and interesting explanation. I like food Thailand is Tom Yam, Pad Thai, Som Tam, Tod Man Pla, Kalamae, Khao Tom, Tom Kha Kai, Khao Pad, Tom Yum Goong, Gaid Med Ma Mong, Khao Soi, Guay Teow Rhua, Kaeng Phet, Thai Tea and Gai Yang. I like tourist place in Thailand is Khao Yai, Phuket, Ko Samui, Ko Pha Ngan, Pha Nga Bay, Ko Tao, Erawan, Mu Kho Ang Thong, Krabi, Similan, Khao Phing Kan (James Bond Island), Maya Bay, Kamala, Phra Nang, Doi Ang Khang, Doi Inthanon, Phou Khe, Doi Tung, Doi Nang Non, Doi Pha Tang, Kao Pui, Doi Lan, Shi Kit, Thi Lo Su, Mon Da Than, Koh Luang, Mae Ya, Nang Rong, Bua Thong, Na Mueang, Phu Wua, Nong Nooch, Phi Phi, Pai and Phu Chi Fa. I not Thailand people but I know about food & places in Thailand country. How can I find out? Because I visited but remembered what was there. Try just ask a Thailand person, is it true that what I mentioned is in about Thailand? Surely they know. Thailand for me score 9.5/10. Greetings for all, I come from a country where the tragedy volcano Krakatoa, Tambora, Samalas & Toba is located.
I've wandered up that direction on Asok a few times (walking )when I stayed around there, but did not know of that market. I must have passed it right by cuz I walked over the canal that's north of there.. Great place to know about, and will definitely go try next time I'm there.
As usual, you manage to find the hidden gems anywhere you go. We watched a vlogger that covered the same market however he stuck to the usual and safe choices ( pad krapao and meat sticks).
Just found your channel and am enjoying digging in. Our first try was "No Name Suki". AMAZING! Plus, there is the excitement of navigating the intersection between the BTS to the shop. 🙏 In this video's segment on kanom jeen nam ngiow, you highlighted those stewed ribs. Don't know if you have mentioned it in other videos, but you might want to warn viewers that Thais use a cleaver, often dull, to cut rib bone. I joke that they often use hammers! This method leads to bone chards that can crack a tooth if come upon unexpectedly. This hazard can also turn up in gaeng kais. Be careful with anything that has cut bones. Looking forward to trying more of your spots
I just found a new restaurant here in Saigon that specializes in Isaan food. I haven't tried yet. So I suppose I should try the laab, and I wonder what else would be good to try. I've only had a bit of trying Isaan food when in Thailand.
Northern foods, I tried all of them in L A , they’re good here and love all of them. I am amazed you are able to eat those many dishes 👍👍👍👍. Yeah this place is amazing . They all look too good and the prices 😊😃
You ate 5 dishes of food!!!!! What are your stomach made from? It is incredible. By the way, do you have any plan during new year yet? I think it's time to come Pathumthani to taste one of the most delicious "somtam" restaurant in the world.
Although I eat the kanoom jeen (if it's the only thing available), not really a big fan of it. Also don't forget some people aren't supposed to be where their at. The chances of my company giving me vacation is slim to zero so I have to say I'm out with an injury to get where I want to go if you catch my drift.
Great Gary these places are hidden gems not really places where the average tourist will run too, majority of tourists will thing twice about going to places like this since its off the tourist track, but these are the way to really experience the real BKK.
