Hi , I lived in Thailand for 9 years. Had to return home to Ireland because of ill health. So your videos are a very welcoming way for me to look back at the moment in my life when I was so happy. Still happy but I miss Thailand so much. Thank you, I really appreciate what you're doing.
This video is a lifeline for someone in quarantine. Thanks Chris! When I saw your video that they opened the TR visa to the world, I almost immediately applied. Less than two weeks after my first contact with the Thai Embassy, I had COE. Pretty great. Now chilling in ASQ, finding the end of Netflix. Can't wait to try the Phad Krapow!
Thailand is a food culture and a food lover’s paradise. You cannot compare it to many western countries in that regard. Food is everywhere, unlike many western countries. Keep up the good work, Chris.
Another great ‘real life’ video Chris. I love Thai food and this is SO my kind of place. Got to go there when next in Thailand. Looking forward to the ‘Holiday’ videos they all sound exciting. I am particularly looking forward to the ‘Pay Forward’ video. Hope you and your family have a great holiday.🙏🏻
Looking forward to all of your videos, to be honest. No matter if it's Chiang Mai, Bangkok, Ko Samui or pay it forward....they are always great to watch. One of my lifelines...together with a couple of other Thailand-vloggers, thank you for taking us along on your adventures and enjoy your holiday!
Chris, the wife and I want to come to Bangkok one day and we’ll be traveling with a toddler, depending on when he’ll be older than 1 but closer to 2-3. Any videos you can do about places to stay or visit with families would be great. We don’t need mainstream entertainment but we like to explore. This market looks like it would be awesome to be close to. Maybe a video series on traveling with young families? Keep them coming!!
Chris, no edit videos are great “if” the person is interesting and can keep you engaged, you u do that flawlessly my friend. More of these if you please 🙂
Food courts like that are hidden gems that the majority tourists never find but all local Thais know about! I remember being taken to one that was under an office building somewhere - I would never find it again! I do go to one that is near to the riverside and close to the Robinson department store near Shangri La hotel. More modest than the one you use but still has great food.
I always stay in that area when I visit BKK. I've always just stuck to Terminal 21.The food court there is good and the aircon is worth the small premium. I think I'll try this market next time. Thanks for showing us some local joints.
I fully agree with your Terminal 21 food court comment Also many seats with great views. Obviously much cleaner too (I am no clean freak, and eat in the streets too, but for some the street foods/markets are a no-go out of concern for that). Cheers!
Perfect timing Chris keep pouring out those videos ... arrive Park Plaza on Friday banking on you keeping me entertained while in quarantine man !!!! Then at last get to see my fiancée and 2 new additions to our family on Jan 2nd.
Simply love your videos Chris. Not sure if you had already done something similar, but would honestly appreciate your creating a video about your favourite food courts in Bangkok. Thanks a lot! You´re truly the man.
Oh that was wonderful . I love Padkrapao too but haven’t tried the one with the fried Tofu . It looks delicious . I’m so glad you are doing this for all of us who are missing this upcoming holiday season in Thailand .
Hi, these videos just popped up in Facebook and they are absolutely fantastic I'm off to Chiang Mai soon and I'd like to see some of that region. Keep it up, well done.
My favorite types of places in Thailand for everyday eating, hands down. Would easily choose food courts and food markets like this over our chain restaurants in the USA. Better food, better price.
We really enjoy these neighborhood walk videos... When we were able to travel we normally stayed on Soi 18 just a couple of blocks from you and it's great seeing things we're familiar with as well as places Ruam Sab Market we can't believe we never heard of until you brought us there.
I subscribed and look forward to my virtual Thai adventure. I'm passing on this channel to other friends stuck . Good for you and your commitment to subscriber s
love your channel because your a genuine nice person who gives back to those who are in need and you live life the way we all should with a smile thank you
In Australia to get a retirement visa there at the Thai Embassy in Canberra as I have previously, A requirement is that you get a police report in the state where you live no less than 3 months old. It only goes back for 7 years. (you could have been a bank robber 8 years ago and it would not be on the police report). As shown on the actual application form you are required to supply a police report for an STV now, it says this is a requirement. An application for a police report in the State of Western Australia cost Aus $75 and takes about 2/3 weeks to get. It is also noted that on the Australia, "Thai Embassy Website advice" to get an STV it is not mentioned that you require Aus $25,000 in savings in a bank account in Australia. However there is a requirement that proof is required that you do have Aus$25,000 in a bank account in Australia to be granted an STV. It's on the application form but is NOT in the advice section. On the Thai website advice there is no mention of the price you pay for a STV, perhaps it is the same as the old 90 day Thai Tourist Visa of Aus $300 where, to extend that in Thailand, a further application had to be provided as well as Bt1900 in Thailand to extend that visa for another 30 days to a total of 90 days. With no disrespect to Dutch people in the world we often say in Aus "it's all double Dutch".
Dude, we are soooo going to go here next time we’re in Thailand! Hopefully in 2021! I’ll also need to map out some music stores to keep up with my content for my guitar players while we’re there! Would love to do a collab with you if you’re up for that!
You and Mark Weins make Toronto quarantine manageable :). Just found out about your channel, super awesome Thailand videos! Subscribed! congrats on all the success!
Hey Fellow Canadian and Rival I am a Vancouverite, I have been visiting BKK since 1988 and thats when I discovered Phad Kra Pao Gai, and Tom Yam Ghoon my mouth is salivating watching your video. Great video.
Normally Thais have their pad kra pao with runny yolk fried egg, but fried egg tofu is also great! Sometime we have it with fried century eggs, crispy pork, fried chicken, and seafood. I believe that if you ask Thai people to choose 1 menu to have for the rest of their life, it's mostly gonna be pad kra pao.
Thank you for my holiday adventure. Just love Thailand, all the Bangkok tourist places, markets and food halls. Love the children and the people, the temples and altars. Love Samui and am missing it these holidays. 🙏🏻
My Wife began taking me to visit her home country Thailand back in the year 2000... You could buy a lunch and a bottle water for .50 cents US.... Thai currency exchange was 42 baht/one dollar.... Thailand is a bit more exspensive today, yet still doable👍
What you just described about us...sitting in lockdown...wishing we were on a plane? Nailed it. I hated tourist season last year in Chiang Mai because I liked it a bit quieter. Rainy season was perfect. Now, I don't care one wy or the other. Get me there, tourists or not...! OHH, I just noticed you have a Carl's Jr near you! Woo hoo! I love Carls!
Its videos like this that keep me going, I count down the days till I can go again. Keep up the good work. Very refreshing to see your daily life. cheers

Great video Chris. I’m looking forward to your Chiangmai videos because that’s where I usually go when I visit Thailand. I’m really missing Thailand. Should have been visiting around now. Hopefully December 2021. All the best
Bit of a strange request but how about a tour of places where tourists can come join in and play sport with Thais and other tourists alike (basketball, squash, skateboarding etc)
So I watched this video in February after watching all the upcoming videos you mentioned and I enjoyed them all, but since we plan to move back to a Chiang Mai, I'd choose those videos.
Great vlog Chris. I was told in my last comment to watch my language, so, another "Freakin' Awesome" vid! Thanks! Cheers! The pay it forward vids are heart warming but I love all of the vids.
Made me hungry going to order some Thai food now. , but am jealous not same here in chi town lol. Thanks. I’d saw all of the above. I am a big Chang Mai fan.
