Overall, Pancit canton is tasty!!😀 And i'm sure that other Koreans will like too🍴
And there was a conversation during filming, calamansi is familiar with Koreans as diet drinks and liquid that can mixed with Korean Soju(alcohol). So, it was kinda exotic and not familiar to eat with noodles🙂 Anyway Pancit canton was good enough for me to buy it in Korea😁😁
Glad to know you really liked the noodles! Calamansi-themed mukbang next time?
This is a monthly snack I like eating

Calamansi is actually the most bought flavor for Filipinos and it's the only flavor I really like.
Samedt.😁
Yeah the favorite of all Pinoy
Same☺️
Same for me

This definitely is telling how Filipino taste is way different than the rest of the Asians. I mean if I'm not mistaken the Calamansi and Chilli-mansi is the most commonly bought here. Goes to show how we love sour, from sinigang, to vinegar in the adobo to the sawsawan.
Accurate💯
We love soury-spicy-sweety food wahaha
well said
It's because of our classic pancit canton, bihon & palabok etc.
Pansit with calamsi, or chili mansi,, Hindi lang sa sinigang, to vinegar in adobo to sawsawan, may basi pa na alak sa ilocos suka, wag kau pwede din sa labahin ang suka,, sa mga nakakarelate diyan...ganyan tayo sa maaasim. Minsan nga kahit kilikiling maasim nilalamutak natin. Hahaha.
Koreans: like the classic flavor(yellow)
Filipinos: WALANG LASAAAA
TRUUU
I know right🤣🤣
Oh i love the original
🤣🤣🤣
maalat HAHAHAHAHA
I used to teach in a Korean institution in Alabang. We ate lakimi canton every weekend. Everybody hated chilimansi during the first few weeks but as the semester rolled by, the calamansi taste grew on them and the green variant became the most favorite canton at that school.
As a filipino, i recogmmend sweet and spicy lakimi canton, im sure they’ll like it!
haha, that's like me. I hated the Kalamansi flavor at first, but I started missing it so much after like 3 weeks? It's like when I first tried Alio de olio pasta with a bit of lemon: hated it at first, but loved it as time passed.
the calamansi flavor is the one I thought was the original when I was a kid. The original was barely sold in stores or just behind the calamansi. I must say when serving calamansi flavor I prefer it slightly undercooked as the flavor is not good when the noodles gets soggy.. Also, after discovering sweet and spicy it has been my go to flavor. Even its soggy it tastes good.
th-cam.com/video/GzjWFM13FeI/w-d-xo.html
I thought so too! My family has only been cooking the calamansi flavored for years. I was so shocked when I first saw and had the original flavor and the sweet and spicy one. Very different to the calamansi one.
Same HAHHAAHAH
TBH i dont like the original flavor at all. It feels like I'd vomit.
@@jomarmasungcad9214 that means it's not your taste
Their reactions on Pancit Canton's calamansi flavor is pretty understandable. Haha. Koreans prefer salty and spicy food, while Filipinos love sour, salty, and spicy flavors. That explains our weird obsession with green mangoes with bagoong and spicy sawsawan; sour crackers, and the mighty and famous Sinigang. Suka/Vinegar is always part of every Filipino household.
Indeed bcuz since childhood we already tasted it and became part of our life so its understandable that koreans dont prefer the calamansi flavor.
I prefer Green Mangoes with Salt than Bagoong tbh
@@maskguy2613 that'd be too soury/salty. But damn you made me drool when you mentioned that 😂
Green manga 😩😩😩 and bagoong and with spices sawsawan BEST COMBO EVER😩😩😩😩
@@maskguy2613 Hindi Toyo (Soy Sauce) is the best one with chili
I like how different Korean’s and Filipino’s differences is. Filipinos doesn’t really like the original version of the Pancit Canton and you can see on grocery stores that its rarely bought. Then there’s Filipinos who likes the calamansi flavor the most and sometimes, you can’t even buy it at the grocery store cuz its out of stock!
Yeah right!!!
Yes haha i don't like the original one too. I prefer calamansi flavor
I wonder if: a filipino grew up in Korea and a korean grew uo in the Ph, would the filipino like the calamansi more or the original? I'm wondering if it's because of the foods they grew up with
I don't like the original flavor i prefer more the calamansi flavor it's so good!!!! 😭
I like sweat and spicy more haha
I like how the host actually cooks it in front of them instead of serving it already cooked beforehand. I also like how they gave their genuine ratings about it. I, as a Filipino, actually prefer the calamansi and chilimansi flavor. I usually also put calamansi over my pancit bihon, lomi, pares, and many more. I also like the snack called: "Cracklings" and "Mang Juan" which both have vinegar flavor. From their expressions, we can totally see the difference in culture. Still, I'm glad to know their honest side about what they prefer in each episode.
Hello from Philippines!
pancit canton is best served right out of the pan. Leaving it out even for a minute dries out the noodles and doesn't taste as good.
Jessica, you should have mentioned to them that Sandara Park's favorite Pancit Canton flavor is the Calamansi flavor.
what for?
To explain that some Koreans can actually appreciate the calamansi flavor ☺️
Calamans flavor is an acquired taste. Dara lived in the Philippines for a very long time so she clearly has acquired it.
@@jmnoonar1914 hmmm I dunno. Maybe to piss you off ehehehe
Maybe, she didn't know? Besides they are Koreans. They get used to spicy foods than sour foods.
I'm Japanese and I love the Chili-Mansi and calamansi flavor. though it's hard to get those flavors in my area. the only shop where I can buy those always has the original on stock so I guess people in my area also prefers the original flavor
I can sell yalls so many packs of calamansi flavors all the way from Philippines through snail mail hahahaha
You can buy the original flavor then add natural calamansi or lime or lemon.
@@kaaarlraaam6058 Actually I've tried that with a lemon. but it really tastes different. If only I could buy some real calamansi... but we don't have that here 😅

I think it is because Filipino taste bud is very different to other country in asia. I know every country have different taste bud but we Filipinos love sour and citrus flavor in everything. Like in every street food stalls you can always find vinegar sauce and calamansi.
Actually, My most favorite is the calamansi flavor in Pancit canton and I dont like the yellow one.
Yellow sucks its just like no.
Me too i like calamansi more
Haha no one likes the yellow one and the sweet ones

Same! The yellow one taste so bland. 😅
As Indian student in Philippines
my go to flavor is Red spicy flavor bt I like calamansi flavor too 😍 I eat adding extra chilli and fried onions with green papaya salad (sweet and sour) refreshing 🤤
When you’re a filipino kid your choice would be the calamansi one but as you grow older its either the spicy or sweet and spicy! Pancit canton is best paired with boiled eggs or bread😋
Mom: Hey eat your bread!
Me: I don't like eating bread with no palaman!
Mom: There's Pancit Canton...
Me: How much do I owe ya?
Omg yes!
It means im still a kid? 😆😆😆... Chilimansi is the best flavor for me. Hot&spicy is a bit salty without rice or bread unlike chilimansi you can eat without pair.
@@msft07a eyy a fellow chilimansi fan
Im a filipino kid and i like the calamansi flavor too😋😋😋
Here in 🇵🇭 I can say that calamansi/ Chilimansi is the fave one rather than the original flavor, from breakfast to meryenda(snack) or even midnight snack (with pandesal or rice perfect 👌)
Try it with Sunny side up egg! It's so yummy
the spicy one is fav💖
I prefer the sweet and spicy. But I like all of the flavors.
I like the sweet and spicy one but my family loves chilimansi ♥️♥️
Its true i sometimes eat it with pandeasal and rice
I think calamansi really is an acquired taste. If they dont see this as torture (you're gonna need a lot of coaxing skills lmao), you can have 'koreans rate sour filipino foods after their third try' as a future youtube concept. The premise being some koreans do develop a craving for sinigang and calamansi juice after getting used to the sourness
Yeah. I feel like I've heard somewhere when they taste sinigang for the first time they didn't like it but having it a third time it became one of their comfort foods especially on rainy days.
I think the reason the calamansi flavor is quite overpowering for Koreans is that the LMPC isn't oily enough. It doesn't have much fatty taste to neutralize, that's why the calamansi flavor stands out.
this was so fun to see their reactions 😂 for me, sweet and spicy is my all time fave ahhhh

Omg sameee

Hello Jaizy..same❤️
In the Philippines, we love sour food. We eat green mangoes, tamarind soup (sinigang), noodles with so much lime or calamansi, tamarind candy (sampalok), and a lot of vinegar or 식초 with garlic as sauce in our Liempo ;) Even Adobo has some vinegar in it kkkk
yes . sourness is part of filipino meals.

Gullible peenoise be like:
Me as a Filipino. My parents mix the original, calamasi , chilimansi and maybe the spicy canton together to make a wonderful mix of flavour.
Their reaction to the calamansi is fascinating, because I think a lot of filipinos actually like that one lol
Yes, yes we do
calamansi and chilimansi are my favorites actually lolol
Same. Haha, chilimansi and calamansi are my favourites.
Yeah they do.
Us Filipinos like sour taste and vinegary. Whereas Koreans love spicy
The fact that they're afraid of trying the last flavor but still tasted it fork full, is what i appreciate the most ❤️ btw i miss the PT guy from the last two episode please bring him back🤣
Protip for my fellow chilimansi lovers: Add the fresh calamansi juice yourself! Squeeze in a fresh calamansi lime after straining (or two if you like). The fresh citrus really brings out the spice.
While you’re at it you can also chop your own chili and dunk it in with the mix if it’s not enough for you
they should try mixing Calamansi and sweet and spicy, its a whole new level of flavor
I agreeeee!
A teacher in this school I used to help my aunt cater loves that. I haven't tried it yet but now I'm tempted
agree
I'm a huuuge fan of Pancit Canton and will definitely try this
I agree
LUCKY ME should release a Korean inspired flavor of PC with Jesica as their endorser. She deserves it.
wow😯
@lucky me
I think spicy cheese pancit canton will do for them 🤣
I usually eat the Original, Spicy, and Extra spicy as a midnight snack but for the ones with Calamansi, I usually eat it during daytime partnered with either rice/ Filipino bread (pandesal). That's why I kind of understand them since the green ones have a bit of a strong flavor compared to the rest which can be eaten as it is.

Thank you for eating our food hope you enjoyed! Love From Philippines ♥️
I really like how honest they are. Kudos for trying to be as honest as possibly you all can be. So perfect and entertaining to watch.
I find it interesting that they didn't like the calamansi and chilimansi flavors as they are actually my favorite hehe
Asim is life
Koreans like spicy food than sour
every time i watch foreigners eat pancit canton i remember the exchange student we had in our school and he really liked pancit canton so much, it was basically the only thing he ate to the point that he had to have his stomach pumped. but when he went back to the states he still brought a lot of pancit canton with him
Wow
I think generally, filipinos loved the calamansi one. Its fun to see foreign people taste it differently
It's amazing how Filipinos would more likely prefer the calamansi one, as I would too... Years back, sweet and spicy was the trend x favorite, but now things had made a turn for that spicy sourish taste.
they should try mixing two flavors, like “chilimansi + sweet & spicy”
for me it taste way better
Yasss
Yes, quite funny we're the same 😂😂
it’s kinda funny to those who can’t handle the spice, thats chili + spicy, x2 the hotness
🥵🔥🌶
i also mix flavors😅 mine is original + sweet & spicy
looks like the sweet & spicy flavor is the flavor add ons to those other variants, but lets not forget the OG, original flavor
I watch a Japanese vloggers eating the Calamansi flavor and surprisingly they liked it more than the spicy one. Maybe that's the major difference between the Japanese and Korean palate.
I think it's because Japanese people are also fond of sour food. They even have pickled vegetables called tsukemono which is common in Japanese meals.
@@kerstin_eryel but Koreans eat a lot of pickled veggies as well, like kimchi
@@seleneyue calamansi is more sour than kimchi. It's also slightly bitter. I think the Japanese like calamansi since they have a similar fruit which also looks and tastes like calamansi, which they also use to season food with, called sudachi.

As a Filipino I'm proud to say that when it comes to food, wether it may be instantly or traditionally cooked we do our outmost best of giving it nice and delicious flavours. Much love from the Philippines 🥰🥰
The calamansi flavor is mostly for kids actually because the other flavors are either too spicy or too salty 👌
True.

The Calamansi one is one of my faves. It's so good especially when paired either with a sunny side up or hard boiled egg.

We really have different taste buds. Most of my Filipino friends prefer the calamansi flavor more than the original but these koreans like the original more than the calamansi. Respect! Foreigners are not supposed to like what the locals like. Great video!
im filipino and i love original
But you can sauté the original (and other flavors as well) with garlic, onions, chilis to have its flavor as you desire🥰🥰
I was kinda nervous of what will they think about our beloved "pancit canton", cause in Japan, most of my japanese friends didn't like the taste that much cause its too salty.. and im aware that filipinos have one of the most strong and exotic tastes in asia.
Watching this reaction was really interesting and I've noticed that most koreans do not prefer sour tastes. Probably the smell of lime may be too strong for them..
It just so fascinating that even when your asian, we all prefer different tastes, cuisines etc..
Well as a half filipino myself, i always prefer the sour and spicy chillimansi anways.. shipping costs may be expensive but i always purchase in bulks for these!! only spicy chillimansi for life!!
did they tried it with rice?
honestly I was surprised. Im a Korean who had a Filipino roommate in Uni. He sent me Pancit from the Philz and Calamansi + Chili were literally my favorite. Even my family loves it. I think it's either a hit or miss in Korea, and this channel so happened to get people who didnt like it at all

As a Filipino I am proud that people from other countries get to try food made from the Philippines
The story about the calamnsi is that the authentic pancit canton (pansit) usually have calamnsi as a side condiment in case it gets cloyed (nakauumay). Usually it gets fatty and the sourness of calamnsi compliments the flavor really well similar to how marinades of grilled foods in the Philippines are such as soy sauce and calamnsi. I think this in sight may justify it really well.
Watching this makes me want to get up from my bed, go to the kitchen, and cook Pancit Canton😅 and it's already past 11pm🤣

Pancit canton is literally the first thing that comes to my mind whenever I think of breakfast, especially with pandesal and coffee on a rainy day. Oh boy literally the best feeling ever.
Press F to this college kids when they found out what happen to pancit canton in the Philippines.
The technique to blend the flavorings well : 1st , put the flavoring on a plate then add 3 tablespoons of sauce from the noodles after you boiled it then stir it well to lessen the saltiness from the flavorings. then 2nd step, put the boiled cooked noodles then mixed it 😁👌. You can also hacked it with various options like put some vegetables, shrimps, meat ,eggs and so on depending on your type of cravings 😄🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰⭐🌟💯🎅🎄👌🤙🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🇰🇷🇵🇭
Pancit Canton is never missing in a Filipino Home. The most popular one is the Green one (calamansi flavor) because Filipinos really love sour food. So, if you visit Philippines, don't be shocked if you see a lot of candies, food, or even drinks that are sour.😅
I don't like the kalamansi flavor of instant pancit canton but when pancit bihon/canton fresh I put kalamansi or ilocos vinegar.. hahhaha.

I like how Jessica mentioned that in most Filipino dishes, we put calamansi, that's why there are those flavors in Pancit Canton. And among the 5 flavors, my favorite is calamansi. Hehe❤
Yes, it's exotic... And it's fun to see how they react of the calamansi ones. We loved sour food because we live in the tropical country, the hot weather compliments with sour food- it's like refreshment.
The calamansi flavor is not that sour at least for me and I guess to most Filipinos out there. So we tend to drop some lemon in it
Putting calamansi, lime, or lemon in viands are usually applied in order to cut the usually rich-tasting Filipino foods. In order to cut the oily or greasy feel in the food, the acidity is needed to brighten up the dish, letting you taste more of the flavors without actually being overwhelmed by the richness. It is the principle behind that PC flavor, but because of its "instant" and artificial nature, these products tend to have one-dimensional flavor, which can throw off people who aren't used to that flavor profile.
This just shows how amazingly our tastes are different. I personally like the chilimansiiii. Good video!
Thank you for featuring our food. We love that you like our food and respect our preferrences.

I can also feel the saltiness of the noodles just by watching them. I can eat pancit canton without rice though, but I admit for first timers they would feel that saltiness. I'm glad they liked the extra spicy flavor, that one is my all time favorite.
