Welcome back Jessica! A small suggestion, since that you’re already back in the Philippines, why don’t you reverse the theme of The Sunbae Club (Korean Ate) by letting Filipinos try uncommon Korean foods or snacks and ask for their reactions? Thank ü and GODSPEED!
Filipino *KAKANIN* is the best snack of all. For Me I prefer Kakanin as a Meryenda than biscuits. . Ang sarap ng filipino Kakanin lalo na ang BiBingka my favorite meryenda . 💓💙💓
@@lalaking.chinupa.sa.trosohan kakanin is not exclusive to the Philippines. any delicacy made from glutinous rice such as rice cakes can be considered kakanin they are just called kakanin in our language. other countries in asia auch as china, japan, korea and even india have their own version of rice cake too.
I really like this series, especially they have someone with them that have a real experience to the food culture… next time I want to see them try taho, halo halo and mais con yelo ^^
Bibingka used to be only made during Christmas time. Especially made for those who go to the very early Catholic mass at around 3 AM or 4 AM. It is eaten with salabat or ginger tea. Technically there are two kinds of rice cakes; the dry one and the wet one.
@@mariyatatsu3752 Bibingka has its origin in the Tagalog region. Part of the Christmas tradition but of course now bibingka can be bought anytime. What you are talking about is very recent.
FINALLY a kakanin taste test !!!! I feel like kakanin is so under represented in Filipino food try/react-type videos, which is a shame cause they're really soo good!! This is really exciting, and it's interesting to see that there are some similarities with traditional Korean sweets and snacks as well! :)
I love this series! Jessica is such a great host and she introduce the filipino culture and food well. She can be a great Korean ambassador for Philippine tourism. More power Ate Jessica! Keep up the great work!
When I was young whenever there's a fiesta or sarsuela in town. We go there just to buy bibingka and watch the shows while waiting for our order lol. How nostalgic. Thanks Miss Jessica for this episode.
One of many Pilipino snacks that's very popular here in Canada is the cassava cake. A Canadian friend once said it's addictive, once you tried it one bite is not enough, she finished the whole lannera.
"Biko story from my childhood" Here in PH when your birthday comes, you should have or eat Pancit (specially Pancit Bihon), you should eat something really long because they believe that it gives you a long life. But when I was a child, I always get sick. Because they don't cook Pancit for me on my birthdays. Instead, they always cook Biko on the 25th of October. Yes that was my birthday, but they didn't cook Biko for me, they cook Biko for my grandfather's death anniversary. So in the end, Biko was always my "Handa" on my birthday. I really like Biko when I was still a child, but when I grew up...I don't like it that much anymore after learning that that food wasn't actually for me. Now, only the elders in our family want Biko. They still cook it every October 25th and November 1 - my grandfather's death anniversary and birthday.
grabe ang expert ni Jessica sa filipino foods, un bang ikaw ka pilipino mong tao pero konte lang ideya mo hehe. well im talking about myself. kudos to u Jessica.
I laughed yesterday since my Korean boss ate street food like it’s her normal thing to do.. the she would laugh at me when she caught me eating Korean noodles.. I remember her brother drinking great taste dou while me drinking maxim coffee haha.. She’s my boss for almost 7 years by the way ❤️❤️
I don't remember the taste of all of these snacks or kakanin. But, I did taste it all. I am more familiar with cassava cake, maja Blanca, palitaw, kutsinta, and suman. Love those^^
Wow, Korean students are cuties and I like how they respect the food that they're not familiar with. I will definitely stay tuned to watch more like this, salamat sa pag introduce ng Filipino food to Koreans. Sending love and support from the Philippines!
i love the real reactions of students. my eyes is so comcemtrated to their rractions i hope many influencer like ate jessica will try to spread Philippines culture allover the world so they can eat anywhere PH products just like other foreign products here at our countru

Hi miss jessica .thanks for introducing our food to your countryman...thanks for loving filipino food and snack..we love u miss jessica..keep up the good work❤️❤️❤️
The one thing I know about filipino foods is that they have the best deserts in east asia, for savory foods maybe not but for deserts its hands down. Because for 500 years most of the world’s sugar came from Spanish Philippines from 1500 until 1900... so they have a well developed culinary sweet culture that simply not present anywhere else

Also much better if they recruit Filipino student who never taste any korean food too haha.
Jessica should explain this also that most food like that are usually sweet because all of it were made partner with coffee.
I like to eat them alone no coffee hahah am I weird. my mom pair biko with coffee don't like it.
In Iloilo, we don't usually pair them with coffee. It depends on the person which drink he should pair with the kakanins.
Lol, only bibingka is paired with coffee here, and it's not the natural "partner", it's tea.
@@markanthonyarancina7769 true biko with coke yum hahah
Not true. Kakanin were prevalent even before the introduction of coffee
I was literally Laughing when that Girl start to taste the banana leaf from bibingka😂😊🥰 thank u ate jess for the video 💗

Really love how willing and open they are to trying all those things. Even going as far as eating the banana leaf 😭 cute
I hope she will feature more Filipino kakanin like puto, suman, banana cue, rice cue, taho, and etc..

the girl who started to chew the banana leaves is the cutest part of this video korean ate 😍
All of that is so good with our Filipino coffee variety(idk if that's correct). The highly strong one, kapeng barako.
Jessica's beauty is like a main cast of korean drama. Her smile is so gorgeous and charming indeed. And she has well proportioned face.
