I'm a retired outdoors person and did my boating on the great lakes. Now I'm stuck in my apt. because of health issues. You guys took me on an awesome trip. Than you very much for sharing an awesome video.
It is great to watch such great people whom appreciate the magnitude of what their doing accomplish this. Vicarious living. I have yet to get on the Lakes, and I live a couple hours from Duluth. Not an amateur sailors place is my thought.
@@heatmoon Everyone on the lakes was an amateur at one time. Just take a course on pleasure boating, keep an eye on weather forecasts and don't play a fool and taking stupid chances and you'll be fine. Just mentions that tells me you're smart enough to take in the most beautiful boating in the world.
@@lexluthor6497 Thankyou. i'm still ,mobile, but old age is taking it's toll lol. But I have a persistant son who grabs me by one ear and sticks me on his boat. I do have to admit, I don't put up any resistance. lol
As a catamaran sailor who was mainly sailing in moderate water (Mediterranean Sea), I followed this movie with excitement. THAT is demanding sailing and adventure. Compliments from the entire crew. Such videos are rarely seen in this quality. Stay well all of you and best regards from Austria!
I lived in Yukon Territory for 15 years... When I first arrived there I worked for the phone company. My work territory was all of Yukon and much of the NWT. I got to see many amazing places and loved the experience! Thanks for sharing this video, it brought wonderful memories back!
Incredible and inspiring. Have often wondered whether that route was possible - it's certainly not for the faint hearted. Thank you for taking us along for the sail.
Wonderful spectacular and you did such a great job of recounting and filming. I have set this as my lifetime achievement for a couple of years now and thanks so much for a very informative documentary cheers
Bravo! My own spirit was lifted just looking at the magnificent photos of a world you experienced firsthand. Thank you for sharing your adventure with us. Renee, David and Halle.
I am really enjoying this well narrated journey through The North West Passage !!! Thank you so much Guy's for sharing your great adventure !!! I have always wondered about the NWP - now I know !!! Will be getting my own boat soon - perhaps our paths will cross some day - "God willing" !!!
Second time I have watched this…just amazing. My aluminium boat delivers next year and I hope to experience just a fraction of what you have…..and I will be content. And as for Moli….what a legend.,,,
Spectacular!! We from the south never get a glimpse of what life in the north is like. Thank-you. For the 62 thumbs down, not enough explosions and car chases I guess.
You are true sailors, showing the way, the adventure, modern day Joshua Slocum spirits. An exquisite story, excellent presentation. Thank you for your gift to the world and us novice sailors. "WELL DONE"
You guys aren’t that young but very young at heart and spirit. Wish I could be there with you. I’m from down under Melbourne Australia, now retired, ( have no choice), was sailing on the big boats (tankers) and had the opportunity to work on a P&O research vessel, for three years, carrying men/women and material to the Australian stations. Of late Ihave plunged into this very subject and the high Arctic north. God willing that’s on my bucket list. Svalbard, Elsmere island and why not the drifting top of the world. But I’m racing with time, as I’m old enough. My God will. Wish I could say high to you guys over the phone. Well take care and God bless. Regards, Percy.
Very impressive. From meticulous planning, careful execution and teamwork both in ALIOTH and between yachts, this was a true mariners' adventure. Not only that but your great photography and self deprecating and interesting commentary brought it all to life. Can't wait to see the return trip when COVID allows.
July 4th 2021...Most certainly we thank you...Thoughtful, caring, contributing people, GIVING to us, all around the world. May we hug each and everyone of you; squeezing you tightly wishing to give back what you have given us through this effort. WOW! Richard
The low-key, factual (very Belgian) delivery, contrasted with the spectacular scenery and high-stakes adventure, made this a wonderful film. It's hard to take a bad picture up there, but your film and still work is first rate. Thank you.
Fantastic Video, Randal Reves Is a sailing hero first ever to sail the figure eight voyage threw the Northwest passage then around cape horn then around Antarctica back again at cape horn back to the states. You were very lucky to have him as a sailing buddy on your trip.
Thank you Vincent for sharing your great movie. My family and I spent a wonderful evening transported into your incredible journey. We felt serene feeling and had a look full of awe at the wonderful places you have visited.
Thank you for sharing your adventure and accomplishment. Amazing that you were in the company of Randall Reeves on his figure 8. As I watched I was trying to imagine Matt Rutherford doing it. A rare club of sailors indeed.
I love this video. I have traveled the world extensively but didn't get to the areas you are traveling in. It looks spectacular. So nice to see a Chanel that has has a boat with everything working properly, not like some of the adventurers I have watched. Just fabulous. (From Australia)
Bravo pour cette superbe navigation. Je suis très heureux de voir que le nouvel équipage d’Alioth entreprend des traversées toujours plus belles et pleines d’aventures.
Beautiful aluminum boat. But those totally exposed twin rudders look very chancy with the ice. And an unusual drive system. But indeed it looks like a fast boat. Great that you made. And wonderful to have friends out there. Good on ya mates.
Gentleman - An excellent documentary of your voyage. A great achievement on both fronts. The Arctic intrigues me like no other place on the planet, and I am not certain why that is the case! Kind regards, Adam from Tasmania.
Feel like I know you guys now loved it and if so very educational and I’m glad to hear more about global warming nothing is happening but someone’s putting out the information
Thankyou for sharing your voyage. Great videography, editing, music, and narration! Inspiring me to try some more challenging sailing on my Tanzer 26 sloop.
Yes! And none of that CVD bug in the Arctic! Lots of time in the Greenland - based on this... looks like a LOT more fun and more of a challenge that I could have imaged! Odd that the bad engine part also took out your generator. I did not see any solar, yet at least one hydro and one wind generator - though not a lot of power, it all helps! - Fair winds!
You did it. The great voyages ae few and far between. I did one and it has always been the best part of my life. Your appreciation is highly appropriate. Well done.

Of all the things I can think of, is “ living life to the fullest.”. Is my first thought. I’ll watch it again. Inspirational.
That was a fantasic film about the passage. Love the teller voiceover and the way the story is told. Inspiring!! Thanks for sharing

Sadly due to warming the passage is becoming more practical. The first travelers were really up against ice all the way.
Fantastic journey!! Thanks for sharing this and congratulations on completing this incredible adventure!

Probably had to do with the Climate change harping which is just plain false. 80s in the arctic is not uncommon in the summer.

It was overall much more calm than I imagined that voyage would be. I could see making that trip. How gorgeous! What a feat!

Absolutely superb. An amazing voyage, stunning scenery, and a very capable boat. I hugely enjoyed watching your docu-film.
Fantastic video! Thank you for taking me with you. Armin from Germany
