I'm a retired outdoors person and did my boating on the great lakes. Now I'm stuck in my apt. because of health issues. You guys took me on an awesome trip. Than you very much for sharing an awesome video.
It is great to watch such great people whom appreciate the magnitude of what their doing accomplish this. Vicarious living. I have yet to get on the Lakes, and I live a couple hours from Duluth. Not an amateur sailors place is my thought.

@@heatmoon Everyone on the lakes was an amateur at one time. Just take a course on pleasure boating, keep an eye on weather forecasts and don't play a fool and taking stupid chances and you'll be fine. Just mentions that tells me you're smart enough to take in the most beautiful boating in the world.

@@lexluthor6497 Thankyou. i'm still ,mobile, but old age is taking it's toll lol. But I have a persistant son who grabs me by one ear and sticks me on his boat. I do have to admit, I don't put up any resistance. lol
My father did the NW passage Route 5 heading west in 2011 #146. I was supposed to go in 2009 when they had planned a west to east passage but the boat had issues in Japan and missed the window to get there intime. I was not able to join in 2011. Its always been a dream. He has photos of polar bears swimming past the boat. It was very nice to watch this video.
As a catamaran sailor who was mainly sailing in moderate water (Mediterranean Sea), I followed this movie with excitement. THAT is demanding sailing and adventure. Compliments from the entire crew. Such videos are rarely seen in this quality. Stay well all of you and best regards from Austria!
Of all the things I can think of, is “ living life to the fullest.”. Is my first thought. I’ll watch it again. Inspirational.

I lived in Yukon Territory for 15 years... When I first arrived there I worked for the phone company. My work territory was all of Yukon and much of the NWT. I got to see many amazing places and loved the experience! Thanks for sharing this video, it brought wonderful memories back!
Incredible and inspiring. Have often wondered whether that route was possible - it's certainly not for the faint hearted. Thank you for taking us along for the sail.
Sadly due to warming the passage is becoming more practical. The first travelers were really up against ice all the way.

Spectacular!! We from the south never get a glimpse of what life in the north is like. Thank-you. For the 62 thumbs down, not enough explosions and car chases I guess.
Probably had to do with the Climate change harping which is just plain false. 80s in the arctic is not uncommon in the summer.

You guys aren’t that young but very young at heart and spirit. Wish I could be there with you. I’m from down under Melbourne Australia, now retired, ( have no choice), was sailing on the big boats (tankers) and had the opportunity to work on a P&O research vessel, for three years, carrying men/women and material to the Australian stations. Of late Ihave plunged into this very subject and the high Arctic north. God willing that’s on my bucket list. Svalbard, Elsmere island and why not the drifting top of the world. But I’m racing with time, as I’m old enough. My God will. Wish I could say high to you guys over the phone. Well take care and God bless. Regards, Percy.

Very impressive. From meticulous planning, careful execution and teamwork both in ALIOTH and between yachts, this was a true mariners' adventure. Not only that but your great photography and self deprecating and interesting commentary brought it all to life. Can't wait to see the return trip when COVID allows.
Beautiful aluminum boat. But those totally exposed twin rudders look very chancy with the ice. And an unusual drive system. But indeed it looks like a fast boat. Great that you made. And wonderful to have friends out there. Good on ya mates.

Fantastic Video, Randal Reves Is a sailing hero first ever to sail the figure eight voyage threw the Northwest passage then around cape horn then around Antarctica back again at cape horn back to the states. You were very lucky to have him as a sailing buddy on your trip.
