I have just a lot to do in my live and don’t want to bother with keeping my pc up to date and I also like the simple interface. It feels like android vs IOS for me, yea sure android may be way more versatile and cheaper but I don’t want to have all the possibilities, just the ones I use and I want them simple. I have nothing against pc users, I like seeing cool setups and optimizations but I just want my monitor and playsie and start.

@@btwiusearch2 if you’re talking used, you can get about an equivalent pc for like 400 if you look for a good deal. For a new one, around 600 if you don’t overspend on the wrong parts, and you don’t have to spend 100 bucks a year for online play

PC: don't have to pay to play online, mods, free emulators, bigger library of games, better ecosystem. I switched to PC, 3 years ago and I don't regret it.
Also PC: You ALSO can do Music design (DAW), CAD design (FreeCAD, Fusion and so on), connect and slice for 3D printers (Prusaslicer Bambu slicer and so on), 3D design (Blender, Maya and more), Photo editing, Graphic editing, Writing and page layout, Spreadsheets, and so on, and so on... Try that with a console.
And indeed - You can do gaming too...

Even though we have what these companies (Microsoft and Sony) are calling "Best Consoles Ever Made", they can't run games at 1080p60fps... you'd be lucky if they ran at 1080p30fps... I would know because I still play on console. For now. I intend to switch, but since I work a job that hates paying employees, it's taking me longer to save up for a gaming PC.
As much as I love FSR and DLSS, far too many game developers have decided they're going to use it as a shortcut to actually optimizing their games. It's great, for allowing weaker hardware to have a fighting chance, but now their games are still requiring high tier hardware on top of using it.

I dunno mate, from my experience PC hardware is becoming more viable for longer and longer. I got 2.5 years out of my GTX770, 3.5 out of my GTX1060, and 5.5 (and counting) out of my RTX2060S. And to be fair the 1060 is still just about viable and will run 99%+ of all games ever made like a champ. I do agree with your point about devs using upscaling as a shortcut, but let's be real that is who they were created for because it's all about lowering development costs that is the primary function of all such technologies, preformed engines etc in the first instance.

Have people forgotten how some games like cyberpunk at lunch completely killed the installation and people had to reinstall the OS of some ps4 owners? My ps4 killed it self 4 times and the last time it was an 1 TB SSHD I had it completely killed. I had to throw it out and was soo pissed. So i don't want anyone telling consoles can have problems.
My friend has a ps4 sitting beside his PC he can't use because the PS4 killed the hard drive. And it's not a day one ps4 either.

As someone who switched from Playstation to PC, one of the deciding factors for making the switch over was game availability. There are so many games that were on older systems that were strait up inaccessible on PS4. Games like the original Dead Space, alot of older Call of Duty games, the PS1 Resident Evil trilogy, etc. Most of these games were available on steam from the start, and others have been made available on other storefronts since. The article in this video hand waves this reason aside by saying "PS5 can play PS4 games"
They eventually stop working on PC as new driver updates come out. Windows is also planning to ban older versions of DirectX, which will stop older games from running.
@@Josh-sz8ip driver updates CAN cause issues in older games, but that's not guaranteed. It's also pretty quickly fixed by modders who make compatability patches to make the game work with the new drivers, assuming the devs don't do it first. Also, what is your source for windows banning older directx versions? I googled it and found nothing. You can't "ban" programs. This worst they can do is block them, which is easy enough to work around Also, alot of games that use older directx versions are also compatible with new versions.

Games are usually released from console to PC, and when they are on PC, it seems like the Completed Version because of things like uncapped FPS and Widescreen Support and others
You can now get a pc that runs better than ps5 for less than 500. Mainly because sony hasn’t dropped the price of the console while prices for pc has dropped
So, I game under Linux, and even here a lot of games just work. I was just playing The Finals at high setting hour ago, and it just ran. 4K 120FPS without any tinkering.

I hate how people treat exclusives as some sort of benefit. It's literally just anticonsumer behavior. It's companies paying studios so people have to spend into their ecosystem to play the game. Windows also somewhat counts as part of MS's ecosystem but it has the argument of marketshare (most people use it, so devs don't need to be paid to make games for it). The only people really fighting against anticonsumer closed platforms is Valve with their linux support.
When will these game journos and PS5 fanboys gonna learn that the only flaw of PC is Trojans, Viruses, & Malware?
And even that can be enjoyed at a distance as proven by various channels on TH-cam. As in a controlled environment for presenting the functionality of the malware, not infecting others with it of course.
That's not even a flaw, your systems protection is up to you. If you get a virus or fall for a scam and get a malware on your PC that's on you.

You can't play games while they're still downloading and installing on PC. You can't install games on your PC from your phone while at work. You get infinite cloud storage on Xbox even without paying a subscription, while Steam only has cloud storage for select games. I can log in my console from bed without having to get up and turn it on. Spotify is integrated into Xbox and can play during games, with an easy crossfade mixer to balance volumes

I think these various articles from games media outlets that push these articles are actually closeted PlayStation fans through and through. All of the response vids I’ve watched from various YTers that covered other similar articles, the articles ALWAYS have misguided, “fanboyish” thoughts that the PS5 is SOOOOO powerful and that is the bar by which the judge PC gaming against. Ponies cannot fathom that an entry level PC, compared to PS5, can possibly, and often can, trounce a PS5 in game performance and graphics, as you stated in your vid. Ponies at the DNA level truly believe this. Sony built “The Ultimate Console and PC Destroyer ™️” Only someone with that pony delusion could come up with such an article - and I don’t know if these “journalists” have someone green light a story to run, BUT, I’d say that if that is the case, those who green lit the run are more than 95% ponies themselves.

Pc gaming is literally not for everyone. I like consoles, and PC always have and probably keep doing it. probably out of nostalgia mind you. but it still scratches the itch. I'm not a power guy still rocking my 2080 for PC, most likely not going to upgrade, not because I don't like it, I just don't care, about raytracing or getting over 144fps lol.

Fun Fact. My Ps4 crashed more than my pc. And after the disc drive of my Ps4 broke, I couldn't use my Ps4 any more and i had to buy a new ps4 becuase the disc drive is bound to updating your system over internet. (what i never did, the day my Ps4 broke, was the last day I played on a current gen console) While on my pc, i just can switch parts when something broke.

I could imagine a console gamer getting a PC being totally overwhelmed, unable to problem solve, and confused. They would get frustrated and say PC gaming sucks. Many should stay on console. As a counter point PC should require less trouble shooting many times. Farting around in cnf. And ini. Files to get things working can get tedious.
Im a PC player for like 13 years now and in 90% of the time games work totally fine for me. It's rare that I have to do something myself in the inis.
Modding often requires some involvement and time but that's not required at all.
Would never suggest for anyone to buy a PC if they are not a real nerd like us and willing to spend a lot of time researching and testing. PC gaming is 10x better than console gaming if you know what you are doing though.

My time on console back then the most frames Ive experienced were 30 and sometimes 60fps at 480p or 720p and rarely 1080p.
Going to PC 60 fps at 1080p was the norm. Then after experiencimg 144hz at 1440p or 4k 60/30 I never regretted my time ascending to PC.
I enjoy all the benefits Ive recieved Playing PC games/emulation, customization of case and components, upgradibility of parts, peripheral support and much more. Consoles in the long run are more expensive, whereas PCs are more cheaper in the long run

The one thing I will play a bit of Devil's Advocate for is that Windows is increasingly forcing updates to automatically install on their own unless you take the time to modify that. You can still easily roll them back, if something screws up, and Windows will usually do it automatically if it just straight up can't boot or something. GPU Drivers are still 100% optional, though.
A gaming PC can be used for many other things that a console can not be. I can't do office work, full out applications, burn CDs, edit photos and so much more on a console. The cost to performance benchmark doesn't work for PC, because they may both play games, but a PC does a lot more
Idk, I’m torn. I’m very new to PC as a lifelong console gamer and i think sometimes people undersell PCs by saying it isn’t that hard to upgrade your PC. Is PC objectively better than consoles? Yes, in almost every single way, but to get to that better experience, well at least here was my experience. All I wanted was to upgrade my PC to be more powerful, so in order to do that, I had to basically gut out everything but my cooler, motherboard and case. While the end result was way way way better than anything my consoles will ever give me, I cannot deny I miss the simplicity of buying one thing that does the job and that being it.
Now that being said, I would never go back to console, PC is better and the way of the future imo, but unless you go prebuilt(which are typically harder to upgrade) it’s definitely a lot more to put everything together, especially for someone who is rather foreign to PCs
How frequent they think you have to upgrade your pc is just flat out not true at all. I had a pc I didn’t upgrade a single part for 3 years and sure while I couldn’t play every game with the top of top teir graphics I could in fact play every game that came out during that time.

Funny, I've only had issues launching two games EVER since 2017 when I switched to pc. Neither of them took hours to problem solve. It's hilarious that updates on pc are "troublesome" and "time consuming", yet the console updates are ignored. One update on console takes longer than all the updates on my pc combined.
When I said games journalists should learn to code I didn't think they would learn to code AI to write for them.

I literally switched from buying all consoles to playing on PC due to the shit specs of Xbone and PS4. The arguments about "value" meant nothing because I spent 50% more building a mid tier gaming PC (including a full physical copy of Windows BTW) which had double the GPU power, and lawd knows how many times more CPU power than those shitty Jaguar cores, a lot more (infinitely more) functionality, more games etc. Add in no charges for online, cheaper game prices (to the point half my PC library was free, not free-to-play games but fully sold games) and my PC has saved me a bleedin' fortune and delivered a mind bendingly huge and diverse selection for the little cost.
The argument can be summed up as:
Console: Plug and play TV focussed gaming, subsidised hardware at point of sale and (in the past at least, now it's only Nintendo) high quality 1st party exclusives.
PC: Up front costs, full price parts, no forced subscriptions to access full functionality. Functionality. Games based on accounts not on a fixed hardware platform so games move with people as opposed to being potentially stuck on individual devices (looking at you hard here Nintendo!). Self optimised games allowing games to be playable on lower and higher specced machines. Access to a games library larger than any Human can complete in one lifetime. Oh, and it's still a PC, so as we all basically need one of those to start with then there 's no reason not to just shove an appropriate GPU in it for added functionality and a bit of gaming, at the very least. With such a vast library stretching back decades available you don't need to spend much to turn any PC into a gaming monster. For example a used RTX2080ti can be had these days for about the price of a Series S.

took me 2h to build my PC with a buddy. we had no prior knowledge of how to do it.
if i would had bought a PS4 back then and then later upgraded to a PS5, it would had cost me more than my PC over the past years. cuz paying more for games, having to pay for PS+.
overall im so glad i switched away from console. yes there are some exclusives i miss out. but tbh, no game is worth the extra +400 bucks for a console.
i also have a ton of "PC exclusives", that will never get released on any console. so on one hand i miss out on some games, yet the whole indie world is open to me. which is now so much more worth than having a console and hope the game might hit PC some day... unlike the PS games that will now also come to PC lol

Too often, and my Nvidia drivers download without even telling me, using up bandwidth without me knowing. And you have to sign in to Nvidia just to install them, which sometimes causes old games to stop working, so I have to degrade

I love how PS brag about all their exclusives but honestly all the games I play the most are PC exclusive, like League of Legends, Escape from Tarkov and Star Citizen. I really don’t care about spider man 5 Afro Latino edition or another Last of Us.
If we want to go a little further back in time in regards to games running poorly on consoles, Monster Hunter World, a game that came out only 5 years after the Xbox One, absolutely struggles to run anywhere near 60fps let alone close to 45-50, and that's on a One S. The only time I've seen the game hit 60 on a console is during any of the enclosed arena fights and it only hits 60 for maybe 2 or 3 seconds, then dips back down to below 50. On pc I can run the game on the high preset and get 60fps throughout the entire game, from the first Jagras fight all the way to Fatalis.

Price/performance on the short run consoles are better. But on the long run pc is more price efficient. U can get used parts and upgrade your pc for the next gen with +/- 200€/$ . U buy new used parts and sell old parts and you're ready for the next gen games. Also pc games are cheap often very fast.
If u are really into gaming and its your hobby u get a pc. Its just the better option on the long run.

Honestly I never buy a PC past the Nvidia XX6X series or at best XX7X series. Typically an i5 rarely an i7,and the only parts I truly splurge on are always 32GB of ram and plenty of SSD space. And my laptop for example currently is an i5/RTX 3060/32GB Ram and the PS5 on the GPU end I believe is more powerful. But I don't care,the laptops portable,can do far more,and I can "optimize" myself for what I feel is important per each game. Not 1-2 settings pre determined for me usually one or both being at 30 FPS ffs.
Honestly the only console I still own is the switch,I don't miss my PS5 or XSX at all. And I lament the money I wasted on both.
Asides from the switch 2 for portability and the fact I love Nintendo titles...I don't see myself buying the next Xbox or PlayStation at all. Which will be a first for me,usually I get them alongside a PC.
World of Warcraft alone...I've had more fun with throughout the years than every single console exclusive combined.

I disagree with you on this on. You underestimate how dumb and ignorant most people and console gamers are about how to work a PC.
PC is THE platform if you want to game seriously, but I honestly can't be bothered to get one since I'd have to spend a lot of precious time learning that shit and all I want after coming home from a ten hour shift is to boot up a game and play something and I don't want to have to trouble shoot a game after a bad update for like two hours to figure out the problem, or have to juggle thirteen different game launchers, I'll stay on console for the convenience, might be much more limited but it does what I need and I'n happy with it, all this console vs PC is some dumb shit because people have different life situations or preferences.
Exactly, I have both and I can see some not wanting to deal with PC stuff. It requires configuration and troubleshooting sometimes. There is definately a learning curve. A worthwhile one in my opinion, but I would consider it a hobby of mine. Console are a streamlined user experience for better or worse. They are both good, it isn't a fight between the two. People are weird.
