So the JBL Partybox Ultimate is an unnecessarily large bluetooth speaker that sounds great and looks amazing… But there’s also the JBL Partybox 710 which I feel is also overkill… and for any sane person, one is more than enough. I've had neighbours complaining about my 710 volume. That thing is a beast. The Ultimate costs double the 710. Rather I get two 710s for the price of 1 Ultimate.

two 710s sound better, if not in bass, definitely in the stereo audio
@@calyxl43 Just based on the specs I would have to agree. Each 710 is 800 watts bringing it to a total of 1600 Watts compared to the 1100 Watts of one ultimate. The frequency response at the low end is only a difference of 5 Hertz with the 710 coming in at 35 Hertz and the new ultimate coming in at 30 Hertz. From experience, just one of my 710s rattles the walls.
I plan to buy another 710 which plain to pairing, what u suggest becuase 2 already pair the 710

@@EngagedWellBeingYou can't compare power like that. Ultimate is still gonna be louder with 1100W of power than double 710 with combined 1600W. Plus the Ultimate has better audio quality overall.
Dual 710 wins in terms of stereo sound separation though so it's still a better investment than single Ultimate I'd say.
I feel that the absence of XLR is a good thing for JBL in this series of speakers. They do have a pro division that addresses the needs for dj applications, therefore making the ultimate and ultimate speaker for HOME use. Many people have large rooms and backyards that can accommodate the amount of sound it produces. Obviously, 2 PB 710 will sound louder against one Ultimate, but please compare it to 2 PB Ultimate 😂. Out of this world... I defend this speaker because JBL is giving you a choice to pick depending on your need.
Very interesting point. They do have a professional line that is better suited for DJs. I use my party boxes for events, but it is very streamlined connected to my laptop with no need for a DJ or mixer. I'm not a DJ so I just want some really kick ass sound.

from hearing the sound comparison on a good speaker system, i can say that the ultimate has much better mids (like the 310s mids) and sounds brighter and clearer, the bass honestly isn't too much more, id say that two 710s have more bass than a single ultimate.
i know he said that in the video after, but honestly the partybox 1000 has terrible mids yet having 7" mid drivers??? i sold my pb1000 for a pb710 because the 710 has better mids but still not as good as a pbUltimate, i connected my partybox 710 to TWO 310s, and that gave it the really clear mids it needed.
If you could tell us how much more bass it has over the 710 in percentage % just to give us an idea it would be great.
About 25-30% more. Calculate the surface area of the woofers and it matches pretty much perfectly. ~ 26%
@@RobertV6 I was somewhere 20% to 25% so must be accurate your calculations. It's a big difference in bass then.
If you have the money, choose the Ultimate. Otherwise, buy two 710s. The 1000 is a relic. There is no app support and the sound quality is so boomy that it is difficult to listen to for a long time. It is old, so the 4.2v water resistance and durability are not very good.

Now this is a good comparison when talking the 710 and Ultimate. Really, to me, the Ultimate is what the 1000 should've been. Makes no sense to go with the 1000 with the Ultimate doing what its doing. 710 for me though, because of where i live. But, with block parties, im snagging that Ultimate.

The 710 is more than enough, you're not gonna be playing more than 50% volume and the bass is just so good, but if you have money to spend then just go with 2 710s. The ultimate is just not worth the given price.

I have 2x 710 but I still want the Ultimate to daisy chain them for outdoors. For indoors however, even single 710 is more than enough, I never play mine over 50-60% volume indoors.
Laughing in blasting 21" subs, not having enough. Unless you actually fear, nervously looking what might crack and fall on your head, or have trouble breathing, then you have no bass to speak of. 😂🤭

I dont think the soundbooks will see light against the ultimate espacially, the 4 is a downgrade from the 3 from what i heard.
Ultimate is bigger much bigger. I'm glad they put a handle on the bottom because having two handles is huge whereas the party box 710 only has one handle. I really like the 710 I'm going to stick with it.
I use normal handle and bass port near bottom for second handle no problem for me to move
Two ultimates do pair up via Bluetooth and not wifi. The wifi is for direct streaming. I confirmed this with JBL directly before I purchased my second one and have since tested this to be true.

2 710 are the better choice and you will find them at a discount this month November . You won't have them at 100% any one of them top 50%.
Just received a pair of 710’s today, keeping things realistic each speaker has a pair of 8 inch woofers and 2.75 inch tweeters. With the equalizer in the app and the right songs you can really get the base thumpin’ hard enough to feel it in your chest and the floor if you’re standing close .. that being said I tried it with a variety of music genres and (keep in mind I’m being really nit picky for peoples high expectations) the only thing I found it lacking was some some clarity in regards to instrument separation in the mids/highs in some songs. Now to be fair i haven’t played enough with the speakers positioning and acoustic environment but these speakers feel geared more toward the aspect of driving bass than beautiful clean separation if you're ears lean more toward the audiophile side you may notice the occasional muddying of violins or other instrumentals in the mix. But let’s keep this in perspective they sound great, some songs have great separation and you aren’t just buying component speakers here it’s an all in one package that seamlessly pairs and plays together wirelessly with some cool features, you just plug the damn things in and start rippin’ from a phone, super simple and convenient. I may get some 310’s or something to daisy chain to add some fill in for some of those instrumentals I’m being picky about. If anyone has experience doing this or suggestions let me know. They are great speakers I’m not regretting them at all.
Play in FLAC format music to get the best experience. not on youtube music because of loss quality
That’s a good point, you know what I didn’t realize … none of the PartyBox speakers seem to support FLAC, they only support mp3, wma, and wav files formats via their usb port according to their literature 🤔 kinda sucks they don’t support FLAC or ALAC. I was playing off Apple Music that uses ALAC so my only real option for lossless would be wav files …. Hmmm 🤔

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking it's really between 3 options, I had already ordered the ultimate on preorder but I went on vacation this week and they delayed the shipping so I canceled so they wouldn't leave the ultimate on my porch for over a week.
Option 1: Repurchase ultimate and daisy chain to my 710
Option 2: second 710 for stereo and save money
Option 3: 2 partybox 1000 for the same price as ultimate.
@shadow80151 well 2 1000's will definitely have more bass but that's an old speaker without an app. Can't you keep the ultimate for few days to test it out and if you don't like it take your money back.

Listen to this: I own a Partybox 300. When I place it in one corner of my room and then sit in the opposite corner, I can feel the bass heavily in my chest. Now, I can’t begin to imagine how it would feel if I placed a Partybox Ultimate there instead.
A buddy have a JBL Partybox 100, I just bought a JBL Partybox 710. We placed both in front of us on a stonewall, and came to the conclusion: The 100 ist absolutely enough. Sounds clear and well balanced even at low volumes, can punch if needed.

This is simply untrue. 710 has 118dB max loudness compared to 124dB of the Ultimate. Double 710 have about 121 dB so still way lower than the Ultimate. Also there's outdoor tests of double 710 vs the Ultimate and the Ultimate is the clear winner.

I had the 710, but I wasn't fond of its mids and treble. I'm currently using a Samsung mx st50b, and I much prefer its sound quality. The clarity seems better.

The JBL1000 is still more than enough for me! i dont need that light show but i am sure the ultimate sounds nice but the bass is probably not a nice as the down firing subwoofer the jbl1000 has.
Actually the bass is better. It's proven if you check out videos on TH-cam. The Ultimate sounds cleaner and the bass is deeper.

If one day you bother to compare the 710 and the Ultimate to the 1000 you will be surprised how bad their mids are. The 1000 is the only large JBL speaker with well balanced sound. Too bad it doesn’t have any lossless audio support (AirPlay/Chromecast)…

We have compared this two in the store directly , I promise you , ultimate box is better then even two of 710. It is worth every penny . Happily we did not purchase two 710s . I have 2 710s. Love using them, but i need more bass!! So im getting 2 ultimates pretty soon! I plan to set them up all together and sit right in the middle. 🤟
A friend of mine uses a pair of Partybox's 710 as a DJ and sounds amazing. She uses at parties for maximum 150 people in closed rooms and others opened spaces; some people asks her where's the subwoofer, but it is just the pair of Partybox 710 😂... For more than that, she uses a pair of JBL Eon and a pair of 15" subwoofers. So I don't see these JBL's Partybox as a "ridiculous waste", cause it has better portability than others "profissional boxs" and a big sound enough to fill parties with good quality and impressive bass.

Eon''s are 2000 watt professional speakers. Can be had for less than the price of this Party Box and more powerful.
A Portable light system is not expensive if you need that for a party.
On top of it these Party Boxes are not even fully compatible with professional dj equipment.
For $1800 or even $1000 compatibility should be a priority.
Like I said if you must have a powerful wireless portable speaker Soundboks is the way to go.
More powerful, lighter and can pair many to create a huge array. Pro dj compatibility. The JBL "PartyBox" line are mostly overpriced novelty speakers with limited connectivity.
