Hi! I found your comparison review very interesting. I enjoy all of your videos, but I couldn't help but notice that you haven't done any reviews on Samsung sound tower speakers. Could you please consider making review and comparison videos for them? It would greatly benefit your viewers. Thank you!
How much bass is enough? I guess it's up to the user. I like the jbl ultimate, you don't need to pound the hell of it to get great sound. I have to soundboks 4, great sound. Just wish it could run with the power cord, not only the battery. I haven't heard the sony.
That's why I like the JBL partyboxes, if you ever need that insane bass, you can go for it. However in this particular comparison I think Ultimate would have sounded way better without the bass boost on cause it was just overpowering the mids and highs. Most of the time I run my partybox with one notch up on the mids and highs without the bass boost on, sounds way more balanced.
Exactly, the jbl has to be plugged into 120 volts. Soundboks 4 goes in my car, camping, parties, my side by side all the while hitting 126 db. Jbl wins for sound, but for nothing else

The Soundboks weight is perfect to lug around, anything more will make you hate any speaker. The battery swap out is a dream come true. Pairing speakers together is a cherry on the Top. The Soundboks go is a must. Can’t wait to see this company in the future.
SB4 sounds like a cheap $50 speaker from wish. It's loud, screaming speaker with no deep bass and no sound quality. With that price I can get 2x JBL PB310/320 and have outstanding sound quality and deep bass + light feature and stereo separation. SB4 has no chance.
The Soundboks can only do one thing right, be loud, it has no clarity nor bass. That’s why the battery lasts so long and why it’s so lightweight, weak woofers, low power amp, huge battery and put half the amps power into the tweeters and you get high SPL. If you like the soundboks then you’ll also be able to listen to a semi trucks horn.
Just buy a powerbank aka solar generator. It's like carrying a lunchbox and has everything built in. A small one will run the JBL for hours. I have a small one (400 watt hour) and a larger one (1050 watt hour). The small one will run 2 310's plugged in for HOURS, the large one will run 2 310's and 2 100's at once at full volume for 12 hours easily.
There’s EQing going on with the various “bass boost” profiles, but it’s a large ported enclosure tuned probably around 35-40hz or so. It will inherently play lower and louder just due to the enclosure design and the Fs of the drivers they’re using even with a flat curve. In contrast, the Soundboks uses pro drivers with a much higher Fs. They’ll be more efficient but won’t be able to play near as low and are inherently ported at a much higher frequency.
You misrepresented the overall cost of the Soundboks. The Soundboks price u noted did not include a battery charger nor an extra battery as u portrayed the unit? Both of these r added costs of $59 and $199, respectively. So, the Soundboks is actually $1257, not $1000 as you explained it. Plus, as we all know in this battery driven world that we live in, in 2024, these batteries are not gonna last forever. At some point, you’re going to have to replace them and that is provided, when you do have to replace them, this company is still in business so you can buy the battery.
