I've found the work of Vishal Mangalwadi on the impact of mission work, especially in India AND his work on the impact of the Bible on Western Culture to be very helpful on these subjects. I also was in Seminary with people from the group best known through Elisabeth Elliot's work, like "Through gates of splendor". Thanks for your work, Glen!

Ron Hongsermeier Yes, love Mangalwadi’s work. I’m sure his words came out when I spoke of Jesus “building” our world.

I suspect that the only difference in outcome may have been whatever additional number of people showed up from the outside, all of them would have been killed. I doubt highly that the color of their skin would be a protectant factor, since the inclusion group clearly recognizes every specific person in their community as inside and fiercely attack anyone displaying interest who is not an in-group person. There are factors in antrhropology more relevant than race in this case...

Chau broke Indian law by contacting the Sentinels, his presence there was a danger to them because of the pathogens from his body,he was chased off the island twice and returned a third time and was killed and buried on the beach. The Sentinels do not want to be colonized, converted,or anything else, they want to be left alone!LIVE WITH THAT FACT!!

Love your videos! :) One thing though, I can't help but hear the skeptic saying, "Why can't we just bring the message of love and peace to the North Sentinelese via the vehicle of Humanism? Why does it have to be Christianity?" Any thoughts?

Jordan W. Lots of reasons but one is that humanism in the form we know it sprang from Christianity. As Nietzsche said, humanists just replaced God with the Good and carried on with a kind of Christianity-lite. The rejection of God does not straightforwardly lead to humanism - not at all. It could equally lead to Nietzsche’s nihilism. And when you’re encountering people with strong beliefs in the spirit world you’re going to find it very difficult to get them to secularism. It took Europe about 500 years!
And also, there’s the small matter of truth. God actually showed up in human history. There’s a grounding for true humanism. Without it, the belief that humans are supremely important is a value judgement without foundation. It’s just dogma. So it turns out that Christianity is the more reasonable doctrine anyway.

A remote tribe in Papua, which was contacted by Christians including MAF, was the subject of a documentary. The makers were very concerned about the Christian influence within the tribe, so decided to interview two old men and get their opinion, dig the dirt on the missionaries etc. The men looked at each other and said, “Well I suppose we don’t eat each other any more” ! Enough said!

It's not bad to give the word to tribes or to other people that does not know Jesus, because Jesucrist said it to the disciples..to go and preach the word of God...but you have to be prepared..HOW would you go to a tribe without knowing there language??you can scream " I love you!!or Jesus loves you! " and they would not understand..you have to be prepared...the first time he went to that island God protected him, they just looked at him not knowing what he was saying, the second time they throwed an arrow at him and it landed in the Bible! Oh my God you have to see that the Lord is protecting you!!!the third time was the last time...you could get a speaker and talked or someone that may e learned there language and talk the word of God..there is something that most of us Christians forget is that God demands that we be obedient yo the law on earth..the same way to God ..so there was a law that there was a distance that he could not go....so he broke that law he could have spoken the word of God in other ways..not having yo go so near them...knowing #1 the law and second the risk...so at this time ..they still do not know what he said...God bless you and all watching this video..

You're inspired? You better not go to that island, you're going to end up just like John. Leave those people alone.
