You're so sweet!! I don't think I have the money or skill to renovate something on this scale, but it is fun to imagine I could! 🤣. And yes, there are lots of folks who like to discourage.. I appreciate your support!!! 😀
This is an 1hr 40 minutes away from our Chateau. Please remember two things living in the "center of nowhere" , 1 - getting to it. It is 4.5 hrs away from pairs. 2 - resourcing goods of any kind. We are on our 2nd container with a 3rd behind it. Good luck
It's beautiful. But is this facade the front facade....? for such a grand house, I'd expect a grand entrance. Honestly, this looks like an american "duplex" - a side-by-side two-family residence.
The iron grill along the roof line was an English creation for Widow's Walks along the roof line to keep her from falling during a storm, don't want the winds blowing her off with her skirts.... Remember, to be called a Chateau the original owner at construction had to have been a noble...and for those that are sticklers, PRE-Revolution, far too many vulgar uncultured uncouth Frenchies have been claiming their home is a chateau when their titles are dubious....at best!
I love this one all the marble and stone stairs.
Yes!! I'm a sucker for that too 😜
Best of luck and go for your dream !! It’s your life , your money and time !!! Flip off anyone who stamps on your “ dream “

That's a beautiful Chateau!
Sure is! Even in its current state.... Something to admire!
This is a nice one… good bones! And 22 acres is actually great to have it gives you space and privacy you don’t have to mow it all as a lawn!😉
I seem to think a few hours mowing the lawn might be therapeutic :). Of course 22 acres would be a chore!! Ha!
Extraordinary find but you have to imagine you'll need another $500k to bring it back. New windows alone may take $200k
You're so right.... It's gonna to need a lot of love - and someone with deep pockets!

Being in the middle of nowhere would be an adjustment. Takes some planning, for sure!

I totally get what you're saying. Maybe our American duplexes were modeled after them.. lol.

Ahhhhh yes!! I knew there would be a name for it but I had no idea what it was! Thank you for telling me.
