    This one has been on the market a long time. Can't believe those are mirrors on the front! So cool.

      It does seem like it's sitting sad and alone for quite some time! Someone has put in an offer so I hope they bring it to life! Those mirrors are so stinking cool, right?

    It's so sad that these beautiful buildings are left to rot . I always think of all that hard work & craftsmanship, gone to waste ☹️

    I wish I had the money to buy it. It looks so beautiful. I love the mirrors on the facade. I hope someone buys and restores it to its former glory 😊

      1.1 Hectares was nice, loved the drone footage, well hope whoever put an offer in respectfully restores it, also be perfect size for a b&b or very petite hotel particular? 😢now know why it’s off the website😢, do recall the price of $380,000 euros, but when saw it come on the market3 yrs ago they originally asked for $550,000 euros? Possibly a restaurant in the farmhouse? The carriage house/hayloft/shed- micro brewery, behind the barn the pottagers~garden terraced into the hill, have fun with the area behind the chateau for a terrace, lap pool, lucky person that bought this place.

      I’d love to be the lucky individual who bought this, Diamond in the rough indeed, make her shine like a Marquis du Barry(she loved diamonds) have to shelve my drawings of her and pic another favourite to draw and decide where the greenhouse goes, why the garden goes there, where the vineyard goes, time to find another Cellar to create my wine tasting room…back to my drawing table…

    I’m looking for a chateau too! I saw this for sale a while back! It’s a beautiful house but too much work!! What I always wonder is how could anyone on this earth let houses like this fall into such disarray?

      I know, it is so sad to think that these properties can sit there and just decay. Some projects are too big to take on. For some of us. Anyway. I completely respect those who can do the huge projects

    Humidity has peeled the paint. But the first picture if you look left of the main building to where the roof line drops down it looks like the brick has collapsed from the right and left of the down spout. From the pics it looks like a huge can of worms. But yes there’s always a but. It really need to be walked inside and out. 🇨🇦

      I'm sure the more you walked around.... the more the sound of dollars signs would be ringing in your ears! Gah! I'm sure that just getting modern utilities in place would be a nightmare...

      It’s hard to believe that the French government just leaves these places to nature. If you can prove you have the money to restore them then sell them for cheap. You wanna go halfers on it let me know ?

    They should sell it for a symbolic price with the condition that 500K should be spent for renovation over five years. Otherwise, the price is too much in terms of the commitment that is required.

      Eh its in a lot better shape than most that are for sale at land price only even, maybe if it was still the early 2000s lol
      There's much less asthetic fortefied farm houses going for a similar cost per M²

    My son just bought a place in Piedmont, Italy. So now I am looking for something. No idea what I might end up doing. I have enough experience that a non- structural remodel like this does not frighten me. Nice looking place. It would help to know how many out buildings and the square meters for each.

    • @LetsBuyAChateau
      @LetsBuyAChateau  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That sounds fantastic! And that's great that you're not afraid of doing a little bit of remodeling, some people won't even consider that.
      I wish there was more information provided about this property, but it just wasn't there. For the size of it. They certainly didn't provide us enough photos either! 🤷‍♀️

    We all have the desire to see places like this become loved & taken care of, but the reality is so many of them are h-u-g-e and far too big for a normal family home. In those days servants were cheap, and many were normal to keep a place like this going, while the family simply did their entertaining/society thing ! It's a different world now, and a place like this can only survive with a viable business to keep the expenses paid. Very sad, but it's hardly any wonder that so many are rotting away - too impractical to support all of them !

    1.2 hectares is small considering the size of constructions. Probably this property is surrounded by others properties, village, routes.

    How about land taxes??? I cant seem to find any valuable info or examples. I read up here and there but no real formulas or figured anywhere🤷🏼‍♂️

    • @LetsBuyAChateau
      @LetsBuyAChateau  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have also not been able to figure out what the formula is for taxes. Sometimes I'll see 4 acres for $781. And I'll see 2 acres somewhere else that has $4,000 annual taxes. 🤷‍♀️ I didn't see information about this particular property, though.
      Either way, it certainly is much more affordable for land tax than in the United States. I can't speak to how things are figured in The UK.

    It’s only 1.1ha
    It’s heritage listed so the renovations are subject to a ton of oversight
    And most importantly
    “ Cette propriété vient de faire l'objet de la signature d'une promesse de vente. Elle n'est donc actuellement plus disponible.”

    • @LetsBuyAChateau
      @LetsBuyAChateau  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just a few days ago they said they were taking back up offers in case that sale fell through.

      I think the person who buys this needs to find the most urgent need. Is the roof leaking? That's where I would start. Then I'd go to the Just utilities... Electric & plumbing.

    'Selling Up And Buying A Chateau' did a tour last year of 12 or 13 chateaux and gave a rundown on each property, one of them had a gorgeous facade and entrance hall but the whole back of the building was rotting away....the pics were complete false advertising but how were they to know without visiting first....
