I'm not blessed with the ability to think very many moves ahead. But your videos are really helping me to develop a stronger understanding of the game. As I progress I hope to be able to see further in the game while playing each move more solidly. I'd love to purchase your master class but it makes no sense for me right now as I'm a casual player and under inflation crunch. But thank you for all this free stuff. Your calm demeanor is great.
I've often played the first few moves of this opening when I'm just in a mood to try weird stuff. I had no idea it was a thing and I have definitely missed all of these awesome tactics so I am very excited to play it next!
10:55 you just stop here claiming white has a nice position, while black can just play Be6 next move and there is no problems for black in this position at all, -0,5 according to the engine as well and all you do in this variations is assuming black to play suboptimal moves but once your followers face opponents above 1300 they won't know what to do if those bad moves don't happen and they get used to variations with white that give away any advantage in the first 7 moves.
And stuff like this is why I don't start with e5, especially in fast time controls. Just way too many gambits, can't be prepared without a lot of work.
@@joshtyler7999 Thank you so much. I seem to be the lowest rated player on this amazing channel with only 700 rapid... I'll look into the Philidor defence.
Another good move is just continuing with Bc4, white will have 2 pieces developed and will be ready to castle on the next move whereas black will have no pieces developed. It’s also possible to transpose into a fried liver type position with an extra tempo if white plays Nf3.
these are all good fine and well.....but only if you can get your opponent to play into the trap.....chances are they won't, because some of the moves required to play along with the traps.....are something a 300 wouldn't even play.

For over twenty years, I avoided playing 1.e4. You have restored my confidence in playing what I should have been playing all along. Thank you!

Always on the hunt for the "best" opening or defense. Thanks for this video. 👍
Gotta try this and the Bishops Opening. Lots of similarities to the Scotch Gambit also.
Nice video
Superb
Nice 1

Koltanowski's "Home Before Dinner lol
What do you do if they [black] play their pawn to D6 after you play knight to F3 in the opening?
Best move is d4, breaking open the center. It's called Philidor defense
