    09:32 - The move should be Knight to F6, because the black's knight on G8 is pinned and you are giving a check at the same time, so black cannot really recapture and you get the opportunity to win more material

    What a great video. I managed to bring your advices into a real game quite fast and to beat a stronger oponent (2155 Lichess on correspondance games, my score there is only about 1800). Thanks a lot. I also appriciate the course I bought from you, even though it was not so instant as a help. It is still worth the buy, maybe on a more longtime base

    Puzzle: Qxg8 Qxg8 Nf6+ royal fork.. Kf8 Nxg8 Kxf8 and white saves the rook and remains a rook up, winning easily!

    Easiest way to win is Nf6+. If Ke7 you can play Nxg8 with check and after Kf8 you play Qxg8+ forcing the Queen trade and remain a rook up.

      My guess too.

    • @DontThinkOnit
      @DontThinkOnit 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I prefer Qxg8+ first because the queen trade is nearly forced with the Nf6+ follow up after Qxg8. Ke7 and Kd7(locks in the bishops and..) loses a woman, Nf8 blunders mate in 2.

    • @simonmetzner5102

      @@DontThinkOnit I thought x Panda's attack too was correct but stockfish recommends your approach. It however does leave your bishop hanging on c4.

    • @DontThinkOnit
      @DontThinkOnit 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice daddy stockfish liked my idea! My name is not Hanz I did not use stockfish😂 jokes aside the bishop isn’t under attack though so I wouldn’t see it as hanging but rather undefended. Not great but not as big of a deal as a the royal fork black needs to handle

    After the counter play the move is d4, attacking the bishop with the pawn and opening the diagonal for the white bishop to join the action. The black queen cannot take the rook because he gets check mated in a few moves. So he'll take that pawn. Then you go for Knight F6+. If he brings his King to F8 you play Bishop H6+. And that's the beginning of the end.

      You cant remember from watching video once. You need to watch it from time to time + you need to actually play this positions in your games. Ofc you gonna miss some moves at the beggining but trust me, mistakes are the best teachers.

    Another Bishop's opening mini-lesson? Awesome! I am very thankful for this series on the bishop's opening. I subbed and liked. You could consider editing all these into a proper product with pgns, opening history, deeper into black responses, transpositions and training tests - I would buy it in a hot second.

  • @petermorcos1519

    Is the solution qxg8+, then when black captures your queen on g8 you play nf8+ winning back the queen? That leaves you up a rook and a knight, I think? Or is there something better? Obviously if they don't recapture with their queen then you win their queen for free.

    • @hamatatag6637
      @hamatatag6637 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, there is better move. Knight f6... you will at least win the knight and trade the queen or will win the game

  • @peacefulmatthias5206

    White can play Qxg8+ immediately forcing a queen trade. Black has to take back with Qxg8 and then you fork the king and queen with Nf6+. You are simply winning with a rook up in material.

  • @joachimfrank4134
    @joachimfrank4134 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can't black play Nf6 with the idea to play Rg8 if the queen captures g7? The rook will be protected by the knight and attack the queen.

    You spent a bunch of time on black's moves after 7. Qxg7 without once mentioning the main move, 7...h5. After 8. Qxh6 Bg4+; 9. Ne2 0-0-0, black has some practical chances despite being down a rook as white needs a lot of time sorting out their forces. You also did not analyse at all black's statistically best defence 4...Kf8. There is nothing wrong with the Vienna Game as an opening choice but at least try to be slightly objective in your videos please.

    Most direct (?): H8 X G8, G2 X G8, N-> F6 check, K move, F6 X G8 easy win follows being up so much material and Blacks has no counterplay

    • @petermorcos1519

      I think this is the solution I posted as well. Makes the most sense to me, unless I'm missing something.

    • @marzipanhunt2870
      @marzipanhunt2870 ปีที่แล้ว

      Easy call on the snap quiz. Queen captures Knight with check on G8, thereby forking King and Queen forcing the Queen trade. Then Knight to F6 forking Queen and King. Then, capture Queen on F8. So both Queens and a pair of Knights are off the board, and whites' Rook on H1 is safe and stays in the game. Big advantage White.
