Great piece of luggage!! Lauren, you mentioned that you pack your odds and ends in the side with the zipper, which makes so much sense, as zippered cover holds it all secure. Am I crazy to think that luggage designers should put the zippered cover on the OTHER side of the bag? With the indentations that the handle makes, THAT's where I like to put my odd-shaped items that are either shoes or items in small pouches. Every time I pack, I wish there was a zippered cover on that side to hold in my smaller odds and ends. Maybe it's just me? Might need that bag, as there's the compression I appreciate. Thanks for the great review, as always!
I have thought the same thing! I'd also like to see a trunk bag with one deep section rather than the traditional 2 sides. I think it would give more versatility for packing shoes and other bulky items you might need.
This is amazing! I love the idea of trunk luggage. Too bad I already bought a level 8 carry on a few months ago. I would have bought this instead. As always, great video. Love that color of blue on you! ❤
For me, weight is a big deal and side handles. As a small (older) woman the less weight in the actual luggage the better. I don't want to rely on anyone else to lift my luggage in the overhead bin or even in the back of my car if I'm driving. So, I'm not sure about this one. I will say I have a huge case of bag envy when I watch your videos. Silly really since not to long ago I gave at least 10 bags of various sizes and shapes to our local women's shelter so obviously I don't need any more.
Thank you so much Lauren, for all your very informative luggage reviews! I was ready to pull the trigger on either the Monos Hybrid carry on, or the July Carry On Pro Trunk. This Hegent model looks like to will work just fine for a much more reasonable price. My only concern is, does Level 8 stand behind their products as well as Monos & July does?
Their warrantee isn’t a lifetime one. I haven’t heard a lot about their customer service. I think July is the best when it comes to that, from my own experience. But it’s also a bag for almost 1/2 the price
I am so spoiled having ditched wheels long ago that even 4kg seems so heavy to me. Not that I would be carrying it through an airport but with weight restrictions... And although I often chuckle at reviews concentrating on colors I must admit I'd feel a little limited with only black and navy choices. If the black was more of a charcoal or if it didn't have that bizarre yellow bumblebee stripe maybe it wouldn't bother me. Rimowa has always been on my wish list since my checked heavy bag day but I can appreciate that more and more companies are now introducing trunks in polycarbonate! #TeamZipperless Thanks for the great review on this new option!
Did you decide? I just got the Freeloop a few days ago and I’m pretty impressed - I was able to fit a 13 piece capsule wardrobe and a pair of Birks completely in one side! I also like that it’s 2 lbs lighter than the one in this video. BUT the scratch proof surface of this one has me wondering if I want to exchange too!
@JLB0880 I think I am going with the Hegent. While the colors are not as fun, I like how the one side is a full zipper all the way around. Also... scratches will make me sad. 😆
I’ve watched more luggage and packing tip videos for planning my upcoming trip to france for 7 weeks. I’m going for carry on only (everyone i know is betting i can’t do it). Lol. Anyway, i always unzip the lining that covers the handle and put my flat shoes there and other small things like socks. That keeps dirt away from the clothes. Thanks for the review of this L8 bag. I have a different version that has the laptop access on the front but now that I’m not traveling with a computer i think i want a bag like this.
Good tip :) and yes, I’m not a fan of pro/front pocket bags, even when I travel with a laptop. It takes up space and I always keep it in my personal item Incase they gate check it!
This was a great review and it's beautiful! I'm a new subscriber so forgive me for asking. But have you checked out the MVST Trek? And if not have you considered it?
I have an international trip to Thailand coming up and I was curious on what would be your recommendation for a best option for a personal item (that has the greatest capacity) for an international flight (Turkish Airlines)? If you have a video that addresses this, you could direct me there as well.
I have a video that goes over types of personal items. I am 100% a backpack girl, and this video explains why: Choosing the Right Personal Item for Your Trip: Pros and Cons Explored th-cam.com/video/cDBEXoWyiIE/w-d-xo.html
How did you literally put a size 13 shoe in the luggage (which is exactly what I needed to see) but only placed it the vertical way. OBVIOUSLY, it fits that way. If you had turned it the other way it would make the most sense to see if they could lay in the suitcase horizontally.
DO NOT BUY THIS CASE. My Hegent 24 case has been on 2 round-trip travels via Delta and is already falling apart: 2 of 4 of the corner protector/reinforcements have fallen off, and the remainder of the case is degrading quickly. This is not durable luggage. Particularly after communicating briefly with Level8 customer service, I cannot understand how anyone would interpret the language of their Warranty to rate any other rating than the lowest possible by any measure. Please consider updating your review.
Thank you for letting us know. I’m sorry that you had that experience, and I’m glad you commented. I have heard from others that they like their luggage, but I will only update my review after I travel with mine personally and have my own experience to share.

I actually love the yellow highlight. It's very attractive. I have the blue trunk. It has very clean lines.
Thank you for the review. I wanted the Monos hybrid but this is the first piece of luggage I have seen, that I would consider purchasing instead.

@morgenkelly8642 a lot of large size trunks have uneven sides like that. One shallow side and one deep side. But they are big, not carry on.
I just bought my hubby a set, thank you so much for your video plus I’m able to used your discount code as well, it helped me a lot ❤😊
You’re welcome! I hope he enjoys it!
I got mine a few days ago! It was on back order! This is my first trip using it! I love it!
So great to hear!!
Thanks for your detailed reviews. I just ordered the textured with your code. I have a personal item that I want to ride on my carryon so ….
Enjoy it! I have two of them and I love them!
I just bought this thanks to your review and ended up using your code!
Hope you enjoy it!

As always, great video. Love that color of blue on you! ❤
Great review as always. And thank you for pointing out if there is or isn't a handle on the bottom

Go for the zipper version i think is one kilo lighter, whatever that is in pounds

Thanks Lauren, another great review. This looks like a really nice bag, any chance they'll make a matching 28 inch trunk?
I got the 24inch in blue. I think I’ll grab the carryon next. I absolutely love the 24!
Great to hear!!
Mercy pants. I’m looking for a checked bag. Have you been on any international trips with yours and how did it survive?

Thanks for the great review on this new option!
I love these videos! Now I'm torn between this and the Freeloop. Any advice?
It basically comes down to wanting glossy luggage or not. It usually needs a protector. But it is much cuter 😂
Did you decide? I just got the Freeloop a few days ago and I’m pretty impressed - I was able to fit a 13 piece capsule wardrobe and a pair of Birks completely in one side! Nice review, but one question, is that connecting buckle for the Y-strap plastic or metal?
If this bag had the handle of the voyager…..WHEW!!!
Right? We are traveling with a wide handle on our current trip (level8 captain aluminum pro) and it’s wonderful

How durable does the trunk lock look? I worry if the plastic breaks and then im stuck w my stuff all over the floor
They seem to be the same quality as all of the other trunk locks on bags I have. Monos, July, and even Carl Friedrik have plastic locks.
Great video! Is the discount still active?
It should be but let me know if it doesn’t work.
@ItsTheKellys still good! Thanks!
This was a great review and it's beautiful! I'm a new subscriber so forgive me for asking. But have you checked out the MVST Trek? And if not have you considered it?
I have been trying to review that bag for a long time, but they never answer me unfortunately.

Can someone inform me on how to reset the latches on this suitcase to my own combination please
How duable vs the silver metal one is this level 8?
This one is way more durable in my opinion. Aluminum always gets dented and scratched easily.
Wondering if the height measurement included the wheels?
I measure it in person on the outside (wheels and handle) and the inside (packing space)
Hi i love your monos reviews. Can you do a monos metro tote review?
Thank you. Eventually I will! I have a full calendar for a while :)
How did you literally put a size 13 shoe in the luggage (which is exactly what I needed to see) but only placed it the vertical way. OBVIOUSLY, it fits that way. If you had turned it the other way it would make the most sense to see if they could lay in the suitcase horizontally.
what size what this!? Is this the 20" or the 24"!?
20”. The 24” would be checked luggage :)
Just checked , not available in Germany🤔
Are the latches made of plastic? A reviewer on the Level8 website said they were plastic, not metal.
The latches are definitely plastic. Only the spin and corners are made of aluminum.
Could you please go back to weighing the bag empty? I love to know what it actually weighs vs what the website says. 😊
03:52 Weight thanks for watching!
I’m with you….. I do NOT like the bright label. I think it makes the bag look cheap.
I love you
