Coach ... having to knock the dust of the clubs this summer after my colleague I work with wanted to "take up golf" !! After pissing myself ( wisdom as you get older ) ... I gave him some initial advice ... tyen sent him your link and Mark crossfield. Had a lesson with Mark and he is top notch. This video is so helpful to starters !! Great content ..... thanks for passing on your knowledge. Loved the "Just a par on tge 1st !!" after that first hook to a lost ball !! Magic
Course management (and its reflection in club selection) is where amateurs can pick up a decent number of shots without having to worry about changing their swing etc. Always good to have more of this stuff out there.

This video is your sweet spot - playing and coaching. Perfect. Nobody does this as good as you. Keep it going and cut the silly lads play me - they may be fun for you but that’s not your demographic. More like this specifically about putting, bunkers, ways to chip and pitch please - but on real courses with real problem shots. It’s what you are so good at.

Great stuff, Locks. Just yesterday, I had 160 to a front pin and hit an 8i, which carries 154-165. Well, it is a tad uphill and I"d misjudged the wind. Struck it well, but more in the high 150s mode. I ended up with a brutal chip that I failed to up and down. Did the opposite with a back pin on a par 3 on the back and made double! 7i and PW on those holes instead of 8i and 9i and I would have been close to my best on that course instead of having to make a 6 foot slider on 18 just to keep it under 80.
Great stuff! But what's with all the utility irons?!! Also would appreciate some insight on the speed required to use them? Don't like hybrids and want something off the tee
Enjoy the course talking through each shot. Maybe add the yardage that you want to hit instead of telling the club you are using. Ex: 196 to pin and want to carry it 195 cause a mishit might land in the trap/water. Hope this helps others. You do a great job Coach!

I have heard that a lot of those popular courses in Spain, Portugal, Tenerife etc are really busy. In your videos they always seem deserted? How do you manage it? What is your secret? 😃

Two different lofts to get good gapping. I would say you need to hit them 150-160 minimum. If not go hybrids.
