Please enjoy this deliriously thrown together video made from six month old footage, some vague wandering thoughts from the last week while I've been ill, and no real conclusion to speak of. The other two installments will be much better, I promise! DIY floss storage video on Thursday! 🥳
Hi Michelle, I hope you feel better. Can you put the jewelry/makeup storage mirror in your bedroom, do you really need the dress form, use the hooks you can remove (no holes) for your cheesehead and other hangables. For storage, use cardboard boxes wrapped in wrapping paper with labels. I have a very small room and a large amount of quilting fabric, books, tables, machines. I have to move things to use things. Stay Healthy. Happy Crafting. ❤❤❤❤
Thanks Kathy 🥰 I definitely hope you never catch sight of my accidental second dress form....there was logic in it somewhere I swear but I just can't quite remember what it was.... The mirror will have to stay in here but I reckon once the foam is dealt with that'll be fine. And yes the hooks are a great suggestion, most of this room is held together with the things already but you can never have too many! Was thinking of sticking some to the outside of the shelves for hanging hoops and things too. Idk it'll all come together somehow. Is what I keep telling myself!
ok, so I watched this series backwards and didn't finally get going on my make over until just now. And I was literally walking around with a very similar mesh trash bin as you talked about what you did with yours! Love it. Of course both of your suggestions would work well, so don't know what mine will be but it will be something. I've got a respectable sized bag of yarn I'm giving up for donations (to a group that makes hats and blankets for local senior citizens) and I'm so proud of my incremental progress I almost can't stand it. AAAANNNNDDD your video presence has reminded me to take (not quite before, but still early in the process) and after pictures so I'm stopping to do that now!
Yeaaah! I love Room Makeovers! You really keep the suspense by making it in 3 parts 🤭 Can't wait to see where it goes! It's very interesting to see your process of rearranging things! Very sorry to hear you're not doing great, hope you get better soon! 🥰
Thank you 🥰 I'm currently in the phase of illness where you're feeling just almost better enough to be really annoyed about still feeling bad, haha, got high hopes for being able to show my face in the next installment though.
I don't have a crafty room, but I did recently adopt a wardrobe/desk thingy and have placed most of my crafty supplies in it... it needs some serious organization still. Really looking forward to seeing your floss storage!
Your wardrobe desk thingy, my (part of a) room, both just with things thrown haphazardly inside in the hopes that Future Us will sort it out. Same vibe!
Looking forward to seeing how it comes together. That room has a lot of things going on in it. I have stitching stuff by and on the love seat where I stitch and in the family room.
That's the really annoying part, all my stitching stuff just ends up in a pile next to the couch anyway haha! Hoping that can change with a bit of organisation though, wish me luck 😅
@@TheGiddyStitcher Good luck. I was planning on organizing/cleaning my craft stuff yesterday, but my son's need for a different sheet set for his bed led to cleaning out and organizing the linen closet instead. How many flat sheets and pillowcases without a fitted sheet do we need?
My craft room is in permanent need of organising! I enjoyed watching this. Hope you feel better soon. We all have covid in our house, apparently you cannot just push on through with it as normal! Lesson learnt today 😆
Oh no that sounds awful! Hope you're all feeling a bit better by the time you read this! Definitely no pushing through, sometimes you just have to give in and actually look after yourself which is something we all struggle with I think. And of course, sometimes you just have to embark on a rejig of your craft room despite the fact you can't really move around and lift things without causing a coughing fit but oh well! 😅
Hi, Michelle! Ugh, I can't believe I'm 6 MONTHS behind on watching TH-cam! I've decided to start with these videos about your craft room since I'm getting back to organizing mine & trying to get inspiration on how/where to put things. Hope you & Dave are well! Happy 2023!!!
Well hey look I'm basically 6 months behind on replying to comments so I guess that worked out ok really! 😅 Looking forward to seeing all the nitty gritty details of your craft room as revenge for having to look at mine. Happy 2023 backatcha! 😘
I relate to so much of this I don't even know which comment to make. I will say that I meant to start a youtube channel in August, but my room definitely got in the way of that.... And I feel that tearing everything down bit SO HARD it would take a day to express it. As for that mirror, something will come to you! I had bought this nifty 60s jewelry box that I was originally going to gut and keep small finished pieces in, but then I didn't have the heart to rip out the flocked molded plastic dividers. They are so unique. But NOTHING would fit in it. Then suddenly, I had an epiphany. Buttons. I put all my favorite pretty buttons in it so I'd never have to dig through the jar, and I can show them off even if I never manage to use them.
Haha, yep I can relate, although I am also living proof that you can totally trick people into thinking you have your life together if you just film everything in one vaguely tidy corner 😅 You're right, inspiration will strike eventually. And it's not like it's a waste, since we desperately needed a full-length mirror so it was worth it just for that! Your button storage sounds adorbs, and it's this kind of anecdote that enables my hoarding of random containers so....thank you? 😆
@@TheGiddyStitcher Set up cameras, move room full of mess out of frame. Change camera angle, move entire mess out of frame again. Rinse, repeat. The struggle is real! 😂But they'll never know what this place really looks like!
I need to clean my "craft" room too. It's also a shared space and I avoid it so much that I've started keeping my current projects on the couch in my toddler's room. Opps.
Definitely know that feeling! All you need to do is a) get sick b) get really angry that you're sick and then bam, c) channel the anger into a clearout! 😅
"You guessed it: everything is a mess again." 😳 I thought that looked quite tidy actually! No shame. I love re-organization videos (probably because I aspire to it but can never achieve it), so the more the better. I have no good idea for the jewellery furniture piece (other than floss, which you've already got a solution for), but please please please get rid of the sofa pieces. Really. You don't need them (if you have to figure out a use for them, you don't need them) and they are just weighing you down. (I know I'm just some weird stranger from the Internet, but trust me. 😎😄) Feel better soon!💐
Michelle. let me tell you about my attempts to put some sort of order in the craft dept. my daughter laughs at me constantly as I have a wardrobe which I unload onto my bed at least once a week and then because I have to sleep it all gets thrown back again, I also keep unusual things (because they could be useful). So at least you have some direction and a plan, maybe I will eventually
Oh lord this sounds SO familiar. I have high hopes for this time though, maybe you can pick up some ideas too! Or more likely I put everything back on the shelves and quietly change the subject 😅
It's looking better than my sewing space, you literally can't see the floor 🤣 Also I keep my wire brimmed witches hat in a cupboard in the bathroom coz there's nowhere else it will fit. Hope you feel better soon.

I love this video ….just like all your other ones. They always make me laugh and smile.
Well this comment made me smile despite being awake at 4am, so now we're even! 😘
I love how you've brought your irrepressible approach to craft to the makeover. I look forward to the next update and hope you are on the mend!
That's certainly one way of describing it! 😆

That's it exactly. I'm not a total mess I'm just STORYTELLING. Or something.
Love it! Take the time to feel better. Everything will be right where you left it.

This had me in stitches! So glad to see I'm not the only one with a problem! 🤣
I can neither confirm nor deny the current state of this room again, mere weeks out from the "makeover" 👀

Thank you! Our bathroom is too small to even have a cupboard 😭 But I love and am not surprised at all to hear you've had this same storage dilemma 😅
Next time invite me over. I’ll help you. 🤗🤗🤗 get better soon my love and I’m looking forward to your floss storage
Omg I can just imagine how much my incredibly slow process would annoy you! 😅 But I swear it'll all come together in the end...hopefully
