- www.ZipTieDomes.com - Video of how to assemble a Geodesic Tunnel Dome with 4 Extensions. This Geodesic Tunnel Dome is 17' wide, 40' long, 8' tall with 627 square feet of floor space. The plans for this Geodesic Tunnel Dome are available for download at www.ZipTieDomes.com and complete kits will be available later this year.

This could be a high tunnel game changer. Thank you, and I am looking forward to getting a kit
With smaller triangles/more tiers, you could construct this on a trailer frame base and use the structure as the basis of an airstream like trailer. Fill triangles with foam and cover with fiber glass for example super tough and no rot no seam to leak at the top and strong for ac mounts etc.
That is a great idea. Thanks for watching the video. John Hurt
Thank you Zip Tie Domes!
Thanks for watching the video! John Hurt
Great video. I like the drawing animation with build instructions. Thank-you.
Thanks, I appreciate your comments. John Hurt
I have other dome designs to create more floorspace without going tall. If you are interested, I'd be willing to put them into the public domain and share details with you.
I would be glad to work with you. Contact me at this link:

Now THAT'S a tough pill to swallow!
Yes. Thanks for watching the video. John Hurt
Please please please make a Hub kit for HEXADOMES (honeycomb domes).. and if at all possible for ZOMES
That is a great idea. Thanks for watching the video. John Hurt
Is it there a way to calculate the size of holes needed for an specific pipe size to get the required angle?
Yes. Through trial and error, and by actually drilling holes and building the domes as prototypes, I have a list of the correct size hole to be drilled for each pipe size and for each dome frequency. Thanks for watching the video. John Hurt
reminds me of that WW2 British bomber the Vickers Wellington (the Wimpey).
It does go up quick, it just doesn't fly in the air.
(Or it should not fly in the air..._
Thanks for watching the video. John Hurt
Octahedrons are perfect for this style of elongated dome. With that said I donlike the idea of tilting the top pentagon off top dead center
That is an interesting concept. Thanks for watching the video. John Hurt
how do you add a door or connect two tunnels together side by side
Put the domes side by side, take out a hexagonal section, and make a tunnel out of PVC pipe struts between the two domes. I don't have any pictures, but here is a customer that made a rectangular doorway, using PVC pipe and a heat gun:

PVC pipe is very easy to use, and if you can fabricate a tunnel dome out of PVC pipe, then you can create a short connection between two domes by attaching PVC pipe between the two domes at the hubs that line up on either dome.
