OMG I'm so happy to hear you say not to limit calories on recovery days!! I don't know exactly when it became the fashion to raise and lower food intake day to day based on activity, but it's crazy making - that is not how the human body works! Humans are walking refrigerators! If we eat more than we need, it gets stored, if we don't have enough food, it gets used ... dropping calories on a non-active day is silly and unnecessarily complicates life. Even more importantly, if you train for real, recovery is quite a bit of work for you body and it needs food to do that!!

      - a really good warm up
      - liquid carbs right after an event to maintain energy levels and avoid crashing
      - cool dows like light bike or row to keep your blood flowing

Just a side note, but 11h is probably unrealistic for most amateurs like myself, with day jobs. Also, with age, falling and staying asleep gets tougher. I feel solid when I get 6h of good sleep. Less, or nights with apnea, and I can barely crawl out of bed! 😅
