I'm a supervisor in a plywood mill about 3 hours south of you, and we make 1/4" Custom Marine plywood, so if you need any, let me know.
I hope your ply doesn’t flex as much as you, Mr Supervisor! 😎
So cool, people helping people
Enough with the B.s marine grade plywood deal, call it what it is and stop trying to ripe people off, it's just treated wood DUH, you call yourself a supervisor ??? get a real job.
@@claytonbaker5858 Who touched you?
@@tunanocrust2642 his dad
Good to see chelsea is still in the picture! :) I think quite a few of us were weirdly worried about that lol
Nah you just have friends you don’t know at all
man installed a mirror bedhead
what are you talking about?
I'd guess they are married now!
@@gowerski In a recent video they were talking about something on the boat engine engaging and he said ‘I used to be engaged’ or ‘I was engaged once’. Something like that.
I know it's none of our business but.....yay Chelsea!! Had us worried there. All the best!
I knew it was a troll all along lol.
Agreed!
@@jwalster9412 It wasn't a troll, it was just a joke that flew over everyone's head.
quick tip from a fellow boat mangler... er builder. if you cant find small odd bits of marine ply you can use plastic cutting boards from walmart. they come in a variety of thicknesses and are absolutely waterproof. just be sure to give them a couple of layers of glass.
It’s like cheap Star Board. 😜
5 years ago you got that . Wow time flys when your having fun . This means I’ve must of been watching for at least 7 years . God bless from Newcastle Australia
damn dawg... why he gotta say the quiet part out loud... i dont wanna know age!
Ive been watching him since.. wait how young was I??
God Bless from Sydney! Been watching since the start of the Lotus rebuild
Literally it's so crazy to see how far he has come. Truly inspiring
Why did the boat sink?
My son and I were passing through Portland on hwy 5 on the 4th of July and I swear I saw this boat parked in the marina. Kinda cool because I liked this series.
The lack of respirators while sanding and working with the glass is EXTREMELY dangerous. Doesn't take much to ruin your life with that stuff!!
Very happy to see the Riva running again. Although I understand why the new boat will work better for your needs, the new boat will NEVER equal or even come close to matching the coolness, the looks, the historic significance of a marvelous old Riva. Rivas epitomize suaveness, elegance, cruising the Italian Riviera in style. Pontoon boats are clunky party barges, period. Great video.
Black brushed aluminum wrap would look cool. With some indirect lighting.
What about brushed steel wrap lol
B is for Bravo. Absolutely beautiful. And resilience man. It's everything. Just keep building.
Also, paint em. Add some black into that front galley and you're home.
B is for bastardize everything he touches
So happy you got it back on the water and looking good. Portland native here and I love to see a local team doing great things.
Can’t read all the comments but from a glazier’s perspective the amount of glue used in the middle was for safety so that god forbid should the mirror break it stays on the wood. Now your whole center can fall onto someone if it breaks.
Indeed.
That makes a lot of sense
Liquid nails will eventually eat thru the mirror backing. They make a mirror glue called mirror mastic just for this.
@@vegas1746 the majority of liquid nails and the backing on mirrors nowadays it’s fine. We will use liquid nails to secure mirrors in frames. But for mirrored walls yes we use mastic.
@@vegas1746 also there is a Gunther’s mirror bond that looks identical to liquid nails that could be what was previously used.
For a smooth finish when painting with a roller go back over with a brush immediately after rolling. Apply light pressure with just the tip of the bristles. This breaks the surface tension of the paint and let's it lay down.
someone is about to have some fun with some 3d printers
Hes already using the crealitys for what they are good for.
Yeah Creality K1 MAX, bigboys!
@@Specialedes doorstops!
@@DevinRostron tables lol much like the new sovol also
I think he blurred them because there were shipping tables with the address on them.
Chris you should suggest to Holley to make a matt finish version of those screen... they're really reflective and might be hard to read in full sun.. (probably not as much of an issue in the dash of a car)
@marklr5716 always an issue photo Matt glass finish would be better. Less glare.
A matte option would be perfect.
Though they make an anti-glare cover/film and some matte black vinyl around the edge could be the DIY solution.
Likely the glass helps protect against the elements
@@ohsoquickly_x
I was thinking along the same lines. Finishing the dash surround in a dark mate would help with glare, too.
Your vibe is infectious, love watching your content!
The original video on this boat build is how I came across your channel and I have been hooked since. I can’t wait to see the finished product on your pontoon boat. Keep doing great stuff!!!
There's a couple of things you can try to remove the discolouration on the wall panels. Firstly, any varnish or other coating will have to come off. Then, you could try an oxalic acid solution to remove the stains. You can buy ready-to-use products for use on wood. The other treatment that might work is a "mold and fungas" remover for wood. There may be a fungal element to that stain, although it's more likely to be organic matter suspended in the water that has been absorbed into the wood grain. Oxalic acid should shift that. Give it a go in an inconspicuous spot as a test. I've had good results with both treatments in the past. Hello from Scotland!
I look forward to the next episode "30 Year Old Italian Yacht stuck in a tree" the rollercoaster this series has been, while unfortunate, has been a treat to watch
I really miss this boat, more videos please 😂😂
It's called "Mirror Mastic". It looks like liquid nails but it won't remove the coating on the back.
i believe it was liquid nails.. hence the circles etched into the glass from the backside.
I lived in Beaverton back in 1996 and watched the fireworks 🎆 on the water with background music from KOIN.🎉 Thanks for the memory.
Oh I'd make the Saloon walls a shade of grey to match the shutters.😅😊
I'm one of the original people who watched that first boat video 5 years ago. It was my old channel that they deleted. I'm so happy to see you finished the build! Very happy this came across my homepage as a suggestion!
Amazing work you guys have done. You don’t quit!
This is like watching someone try to make a tutorial while trying to learn the same skill on the fly.
I feel like that's the whole point of the channel.
Best way to learn something new: Teach that that something to others.
And I love them for it. Would we think to make an off-road Lamborghini, or take on and win a version of Eleanor, or this boat? It's been awesome watching them grow and learn.
Learned so much that I didn’t know you could do!!!😮 glass cutting, carpet change with just outlining the old to new and the black material you stapled.. pretty kool… glad it all worked out for you..
Good work to get it back operational again Chris. And also great to see Chelsea again, you had some of us slightly worried there.
You are not wrong. You and your team overcame a LOT to put that boat back on the water. Huge congrats to you all!
34:18 Chelsea getting lit with that pen 🌲
Instead of watching videos in slow mo, go BUILD something
Better be careful cuz I know operating a boat while doing that ain't legal!!
@@tomislavlulic9330 bet it 10x more fun tho 😂
Getting lit ALL DAY FTMFW. Yup. 👍💪😎🔥👌🌳✅
Thats not Chelsea, Chelsea has red/pinkish hair!
I'm soooo glad you got to restore the boat! Something going right is a huge win! Can't wait to see what is next!
definitely have made it your own..I do enjoy you explaining of how things work and the logic of the builds.. My fav u tube channel.
Great job Chris and gang. It's a lovely boat and I enjoy all the content covering all the trials and tribulations associated with it - it was well worth restoring after it sank. Looking forward to more clips in the future doing what it does best.
Great to see so much detail around these small ish jobs, thanks. All the comments I had have been covered by other posters .
Your smooth sailing from here on out! On every project you do, I wish you the best and much love!
Great video Chris. Nice to see the culmination of all the hard work of you, Kyle and Oscar.
Amazing work! Congratulations on making it all come together.
I admire your recilence motivation and the fact that give you so much joy to see others having a great time because of you.
Awesome build. Loved it all. Y'all are so resourceful. Looking forward to completing the houseboat!
the happy ending we all needed and you deserved! never stop b is for building
For the 1/4" Marine Grade plywood - Mr. Plywood on SE Stark St. carries it. Might be good to know for you pontoon build.
So glad you stuck with it. Often it’s not a destination, but the journey that allows you to enjoy the results.
Gotta say, Holley came through for tha win on this build
So proud of your hard work and dedication. Makes it fun to watch. You have an amazing team with you too.
The boat is looking awesome! As for the wood , you could sand it all and refinish, wrap it with vinyl but you'd lose the amazing wood that highlights an interior or skin the wood with a thin wood veneer and have a great pick of options of wood species.
I recently got rid of my fiberglass sailboat and never want to get into big boats again. You've found out too, they're an utter nightmare. I went back to an aluminum fishing boat only to have the outboard motor's prop come apart, then I found they don't make those props anymore, it was a nightmare finding a replacement. I hate boats of all sizes now.
Been watching this since day 1. Happy for you and the team! Looking forward to seeing what’s next.
Thank you. Thrilled for you to get that great boat going
Awesome and outstanding as always. Thanks for sharing and taking us along
You guys did a great job! Looking forward to the pontoon build!
Once you have some time...hahaha...get those props sized so we can really evaluated the diesel to gas conversion.
Looks like you got some black mold on that wood under the cushions downstairs, probably should take care of that.
When you announced your new custom pontoon boat, I was scared b is for boat was toast. Glad you restored/resurrected it! This is the spirit of your channel
Definitely vinyl wrap the wood in the cabin. The 3m wood wrap look killer
Well done on seeing a project to completion regardless of the setbacks and hurdle. I thoroughly enjoyed this series!
Really great work Chris & team💪. Nice to see Chelsea - all of you showing us how to simply keep going. Whatever the situation. Whatever the odds. When you look back on your life Chris. You’ll never regret the boat. You’re not supposed to break even on a boat. But tell that to the smiles. 🤘🤘👏👏
Chris, maybe a video on proven ways to prevent catastrophic failures on boats in the freezing winters. I’d be in for watching. Could help other boat owners avoid this situation.
Awesome to see the boat back in action. Great job.
My old boat was out on the mooring and I noticed the back end sitting kinda low, so I rowed out and realized it was taking on water pretty quick. I got the pump going and pumped it out and floated it but the engines were unfortunately submerged. Well, they worked a couple of days later, for a bout a week, then that boat was the most trouble I've ever seen. It essentially needed a full re-wire of the engine and body harnessses, computers, starters, alternators, etc.
Good luck lol
That’s what happened to all of the DDay vehicles that passed through 0-3.5 ft of surf. They pretty much all died within two weeks unless a lot of work was done. And all the vehicles had to be new to land safely.
@captiannemo1587 it's especially fun when they go one at a time and your boat never works right again
Thanks for sharing the whole experience with the boat. It was a great series.
Really like this boat. I would paint the walls. Those frames on the cabinet look great!
Great job. What a fantastic crew you have and an amazing wife too. Enjoy your content and always showing the reality of these projects. Always appreciate your can-do attitude.
Congratulations on reviving and improving this beautiful old boat ! Well done 👍
The boat was a huge shift away from the norm on the channel, and I didn't really think I'd enjoy watching it. But honestly, I've loved every step of it. Great job guys!
Sometimes you gotta just take a look around and say “maybe I’m not a boat guy.”
It was absolutely soul crushing to see it sink, and it must have been unimaginably worse for you, but I knew bifb could get it done. Big cheers, you guys are amazing.
hi guys repaint it wached you the first time rebuilding this boat have a great weekend
VERY good job with this boat! :3 I am beyond happy that you restored the boat and not just throw it out, also I am very proud of you for doing all the work on the boat it looks GREAT! :3
It is so good to see the ole yacht back in good order. Happy July 4th weekend.
I’m relieved to see this boat operating again.
One of the best TH-camrs i love watching. Thanks guys👍
I am alway impressed how y'all will just tackle a mountain of work and creativity make it your own and finish it.
Great to see you motoring on the waterways. Take some time and enjoy the hard work with your team, friends, family.
Can't believe it's been 5 years already. I remember when you first got it. Well done to all of you Chris!
This is why I love watching ya b is for build better love ya may more blessings go your way
i havent skipped a single video you uploaded since I first subbed to you back in 2018 and I remember my first time watching your video on that wrecked GTR and you rebuilt it. Great content everytime! Happy 4th bro!
Awesome job. Can’t wait for the new boat build
Really enjoyed following the journey with the boat. She looks awesome
wonderful build series! Really enjoyed it!
BRILLIANT well done chris!!! amazing job from when it sunk!!!
So happy to see you guys got the boat back in ship shape.
Great video. Pontoon boat vids crazy but will be interesting. Really enjoyed this vid
The boat looks great! Good work y’all!
Great Job restoring her. Glad you go to enjoy it with your friends. Happy 4th!
I LOVE all the builds!! The boat builds are awesome!!
Success comes in interesting packages. You've pulled this off - what a great experience. Thanks
You're such an inspiration man, keep doing what you do!
B is for boat and boats are for sharing. Living the dream mate.
One last thing...
Rotate the table with the "Riva" logo 90-deg clockwise so the logo is readable while standing in the boat.
It looks great. It's nice to see one of these "Resurrecting a ...." project actually finish.
I'd love to see one last vid with a drone following the boat at WFO across the water.
Love watching boat build videos ,wonder if theres still a couple hundred pounds of mud still behind the walls and under the floor
Top notch! I love the yacht build!
The boat looks f’n savage! Fair play, all the hard work has really paid off. Well done to you all! 👏🏻 👌🏻👌🏻✌🏻✌🏻🎉
Hi Chris the reason the round patches were on the mirror is because the mirror and the adhesive had a reaction. It happens if the wrong adhesive is used it eats the mirror from the back. I’d use a mirror glue of low module silicone to glue it if you want it to last. Good job the boat stuff is super interesting there is a lot of cool aspects to deal with with goii out d solutions. Well done 👍
What an amazing transformation and accomplishment. She is B is for Beautiful. Always staying positive. Good job all around
That's what makes boat ownership great. Those moments out with friends and family.
RESPECT Met een grote R ❤❤ leuk om te zien dat het jacht weer vaart ik dacht dat ie afgeschreven was super gedaan 👍👍👍💪💪💪Greats from the Nederlands
Positive energy, enthusiasm, laughing, or at least smiling in the face of adversity, and the funds to make your vision come true. It’s a pleasure to watch and enjoy for me, a Expat, pacific Northwesterner living in Southeast Asia. Happy Fourth of July 🇺🇸🧨🥳America.☮️❤️
Congratulations 👏 🎊 💐 🥳
I drive by the marina and always make it a point to spot your yacht.
So awesome. Great build!!
Congrats man. Great job keep on doing what you are doing and enjoy life. Well wishes to all of you and your guys friends and family
You need to get some good foam flooring for the outside on the boat. It looks so good and clean! I think seadeck is a good company of flooring with good options! And the boat already looks amazing!
The image at 21:45 reminded me of a very good day. I paid 32 dollars US for a picture of a warehouse ceiling that was "shiny metal" on eBay. Shipping was $1100 to my house which was 4 miles away, so I knew it would be heavy! I paid $1.75 local pickup fee and received 6, 2'X8' sheets of polished brass. After selling them I bought 10 pizzas for the employees at the warehouse.
A good day!
