Ive been an Army DS for a while now, and if I had to recommend this video to anyone, it would be to new recruits before BC. It makes everyones life easier if you come into the Military with at least the ground rules of marching, faces, and rests. Thank you for this informative video.

Nayeli Contreras Honestly, it wasn’t bad. Parts may suck at the time but it really comes down to right time, right place, right uniform, and RIGHT MINDSET. just a tip if you are in the guard doing drill, if you are doing the acft and say that your glasses are falling. you might casually get a drill sergeants hand smacked onto your face to shove your glasses up. they may also smudge your glasses in the process
Wish you would have uploaded sooner, got back from FLW Missouri about 2 months ago. Get to go to Cuba very soon with my Unit so excited for that. Thanks for your channel, it's very helpful
I'm currently finishing up basic at Ft Jackson but home on Christmas leave. This video would have made my first week there so much better. I really struggled with attention, parade rest, at ease, knowing when to respond etc. I got fucked up my first week😂
Keep your head up, it’s all a game for the first two weeks the easiest way to leave BCT is to Graduate, look forward to HBL it will boost morale a lot knowing that your going home. Army Strong Good Luck
I wish they had this video before I went in, wouldve saved my life. My battle didint stand at parade rest talking to our first sergeant and lets just say he got smoked lol. So dont be that guy 😂. 1st platoon "Troopers" E CO. 360th.
according to tc 3-21.5 you can only use it to fix yourself after a preperatory command, you cannot use it after the command of execution has been given. For example if you wanted to do a right face but accidentally said left it would sound something like this. "Left!.., as you were,!.. Right!.. Face!" If i'm wrong please correct me but this is a very misunderstood thing in the army, something which even my drill sergeants get wrong. Only reason I know this is because i'm studying for soldier of the month board
I've got two more videos on this topic. But a full blown marching video may not happen since that would be hard to do with what I have as well as I really just want to hit on the basics because there are A LOT of little things that go into D&C
Fort Jackson, November 5th, me too on the running. They put you in a group to build on running- so if you cant, you will. If you can, you will. Long story short, you always can ( run) it just sucks to train

I’ve been in and around the Army for 10 years and all the positions are so programmed into my mind if someone were to ask me how to do them I might have to think about it a bit but if Someone said those commands in front of me I would be like a secret sleeper assassin activated by a code word.
I may have misunderstood. But is this video saying that you can only give resting position command from the position of attention? If so, I don't think that is right, because you can give less restrictive resting position commands when at resting position. By the way, those about faces are very nice and solid.
I have a few questions. I’m going to meps tomorrow for the asvab 1. I’m not completely out of shape I mostly lack stamina and Endurance. Should I be ok going in? 2. I’m currently at around 25% BMI since there doing the tape test. Is that alright for now? I’m still trying to best to lose some weight before I actually leave for bct
Hate to spoil it but you can be overweight and pass basic depends if it’s a combat MOS. Anyone can turn green just show that you are showing work and your good.

You’ll know, they will tell you throughout the day when you can go. Use every chance you get to go. At night in the barracks after you go to bed you can use it at any point
Well I'm not Matt and I'm not exactly sure what you are asking, however this is what I know. Even if someone who is related to you or is your best friend and is an officer while both in uniform you must salute them. Doesn't matter the relationship. That also goes for being buddy buddy with them. In more public areas, while in uniform you must act professional, however if you are like alone it doesn't really matter.

when you want a someone to go back to the previous position it is, 'as you were' !
In terms of D and C “As you were” is used to revoke a preparatory command.
