Hi John the first coin that Simon found I saw a crown on it and the letters C and R and that one he just found there is a Picture of a man who looks like he is wearing a long wig
Just ignore the comments that are negative everyone should go subscribe let’s make it possible for both Simon and John to do what they enjoy for a living full time !
Silver always brightens up the day, Yep! I'm subbed to Simon. And it was great to see his numbers climbing. Well there's one thing you can definitely say about Simon, He definitely has balls! Cheers!
This was another good day for the two of you. I enjoy your banter and when you show Simon something, you teach me, too. So thanks to the both of you!🥰💕❤️👍👍
Hi guys, good to see you pairing up again! No showing Simons finds, you need to be mysterious and tell people if they want to see what Simon found , you need to go to his channel! 😂 nice finds!
The hallmark on the watch back is from the Chester assay office. The date looks like either 1908 or 1910, depending on whether the letter is an H or a K. I couldn't tell. Nice find!
You're a great mentor and a great friend, obviously. I'm subscribed to Simon's channel as well. Love watching both of you. Who knew Scotland and Spain could be such a force of nature!
Thanks John, really really enjoying the channel and learning loads from you. I must buy you a beer when I bump in to you at the next event. All the best
Much admiration to you John for helping Simon into metal detecting let alone his own TH-cam channel. But I will always be watching yours I watch every episode and am always delighted to see Simon in the midst. It’s nice to see some generosity these days! Well played 👏 and good luck to Simon he’s a good lad 👍
Top bloke Simon buzzing for him and everyone jumping 9n to subscribe to his chanel well done great video as always John thanks for sharing keep up the hard work mate 👍
Blessings, my Scottish Detectorist friend, from this old man in Tennessee. That Silver pocket watch back plate is brilliant. You’re a good friend, helping Simon out like you have. Blessings.
Not a sword hanger but it is Clydesdale orientated (HORSE) - medallion is a possible Piece Meal tag for Rob Caledon a Ship Yard that was once based in Dundee early 20th century
I was one of Simon's first subscriber, and I'm glad he's following your direction. That was a terrific day for you John. The buttons were nice, and I really think that thick bronze coin will be a Roman. That silver pocket watch piece at the end was a real treat, that field is great! I'll be looking for part 2!
Hi John and Simon, I think that you both look great with that hair, much better than the alternative, all the finds are exciting, even the "junk", see you in part two, cheers!!!🥰😘😘💕💕👌👌👍👍💪💪
Interesting finds and a fab bit of silver to boot - look forward to seeing part 2. Followed Simon the other day after your wee shout out 🙂 So pleased he has so many subs, here's to many more!! He'll be catching you up in no time 😉
Silver again! What a nice find it is too. Some nice patterned pieces you found and one of them looks like the top of a Roman brooch maybe? - the decorated one with the loop at the end? Good to see both of you out in completion again. I wonder who’ll find the hoard first? 😂 You need to get Marti and Albert out too and see who finds the best then?
what a nice mix of finds John is Simon taking up golf , i am pleased to have subscribed to Simons channel looking forward to part 2 thanks again cheers
Nice finds John. i was little slow at finding Simon but did later in the evening. I like the way he set it up, . Your stories are better but Simon shows a picture of his finds off to the side that is cool. You are one of the good ones helping him out like you are. Blessed Be to you and yours.
Thanks John, another great video that I didn't want to end, but part two is coming soon, I hope. I love your pretty silver. BTW, you should know better than trying to straighten metal in the cold, lol
Hi your big lump of silver is the back of a watch case, I had the complete case including glass with exactly the same decorations on the back. If I can find the pictures I will send them to you Kindest regards Karl
We are definitely going to subscribe to Simons channel,, Best of luck Simon!! Simons "sword hanger" is actually a bit of a horse bridle , It's called a gag loop!
Hi John watching from Belfast Northern Ireland I think that is a Bronze Coin you just found and there is a design on it looks like a flower pattern i think if it was put under a microscope you would see it better
One of the places we go camping (in Australia) there are golf balls scattered throughout the area, the nearing golf course over 20km away. The theory is that the crows pick them up thinking they are eggs and take them back to their territory and drop them when they discover they aren’t. Don’t know if that’s a possibility for the numerous golf balls you are finding 🤷♀️. Another day of great finds. Following Simon - you had better be careful he might reach 40k in 3 months instead of 3 years.
I would love to see that silver watch backing under the light box once you've washed it off as the design was interesting, but hard to make out. Great day of finds and good company too!
Every time you find a copper bob bee, it takes me back my to my childhood, and that song Ali bali Ali bali bee greeting for a wee Bob bee to buy some sugar candy 😅
The silver hallmarks (lion passant in rectangle and wheat/sword in shield shape) are for Chester. I can't get a clear look at the maker or year, but maybe it'll help narrow that down.
The thing that some people had claimed to you was a sword hanger is definitely a piece of harness hardware, probably a hanger for a check rein. In other words this hardware woudl be attached to the crownpiece of the bridle that a rein passes through, sort of below the horse's ear, to attach to the surrcingle (belly band) that prevents the horse from putting his head down to eat. Not a driving rein but a check rein.
I hope yur helping the Smiling Spaniard wi his video editing anaw 🤣🤣 Seriously John, well done again. Next time ye take Simon wi ye, ye want a bag full o gowf balls and drop them all over the field fur Simon 🤣🤣🤣😉
I have just had a fright. I was looking at my YT top page, and John and Simon's videos were side-by-side. For a moment there, there were two identical Spaniards looking at me. Simon and his as yet unannounced twin brother.....
WE. NEED. SIMON! He's the best! Such a humble and unassuming soul. 🙂 Hi Simon!
I love Simon! I hope he does well with his channel. As long as the trolls don't get him.

John and Simon late on a Saturday evening detecting..perfect.👏👍🏴
A bit out with my usual times but hopefully people still watch 😜 enjoy Jeffrey
the loop thing is a "roger ring "which is fitted to the bridle To pass the reins through when you are driving one horse behind another
Aha!! Great info and much appreciated, finally puts that one to bed!! Thanks
Thanks, I couldn't think of it. Haven't seen one in ages
A damn good rogering
@@thescottishdetectorist I'm definitely going to study up on horse brasses and tack.
I haven't worked with a horse or a team for ages.
Disagree

I think you were spot on with the Boys Brigade badge. I found a similar one online. Rope wrapped around an anchor.

Definitely Boys Brigade. My dad was in it back in the 1930's in Falkirk.
Aha! Thanks Elizabeth

Good day out. Great to see Simon and his never-ending golf ball collection
The hairdressers first day? You had me crying! 😂
Well done John! Very entertaining.
Really enjoyed the video thank you John and Simon. 👍
Many thanks
Coin at 4:12 could be Roman ASISC or BSISC? Keep up the good work look forward to your updates to what is still laying around in the fields. G
Many thanks Gordon. New video just posted with a closer look at the possible Roman. And I think it is
Leave SIMON alone! Love his hair! 🥰
He’s very hair focused so I like winding him up about it whenever possible 🤣
Woohoo! Turning into a silver magnet? It was a slow start but picking up now.
Thanks John, another great video that I didn't want to end, but part two is coming soon, I hope. I love your pretty silver. BTW, you should know better than trying to straighten metal in the cold, lol
You guys are a great team together. You make me laugh 😊

I found the exact same pocket watch cover here in south africa from boer war. Good job.
Hi John watching from Belfast Northern Ireland I think that is a Bronze Coin you just found and there is a design on it looks like a flower pattern i think if it was put under a microscope you would see it better

I love that you both have your.own channels but I will have to say there is nothing better than the John and Simon chemistry -you guys together 😂
Sounds like the new program is a keeper!😊
You have a ball with Simon. Literally. 😂
I think the "sword hanger" is part of mule yoke harness that attaches the wood part to the leather
I found a sword hanger last weekend exactly the same👍
I would love to see that silver watch backing under the light box once you've washed it off as the design was interesting, but hard to make out. Great day of finds and good company too!
Every time you find a copper bob bee, it takes me back my to my childhood, and that song Ali bali Ali bali bee greeting for a wee Bob bee to buy some sugar candy 😅
Really enjoyed this episode! 🫶✌️🤍
Thanks Tammy and have a great weekend
Looks frosty in Perthshire!
It was a cold one!!! But we survived
The silver hallmarks (lion passant in rectangle and wheat/sword in shield shape) are for Chester. I can't get a clear look at the maker or year, but maybe it'll help narrow that down.
The item at 3:09 looks like a "Rein drop or Terret" from a cart horse harness.
We had snow again today 🥶
That`s Scotland for you!
Happy days. A beautiful day here today!
🤣@@thescottishdetectorist
Thanks for the video.
I love the detectorist twins. The double ring thing could be a neck yoke ring or a hames ring. (harness part)
Try spaying the rubber boots with silicone spray when clean and dry should help mud to slide off.
Absolutely brilliant son. I'm out tomorrow with my pal Ben on his first dig with his new Vanquish 540 . Happy days
Happy hunting James and best wishes
@thescottishdetectorist just back and Ben pulled out a Alexander 3rd silver on his first dig he was absolutely buzzing 🙌 👏
Comment just for the TH-cam algorithm.
G,day , Really enjoy your channel , Just wondering what is the blue component on the stem of your Deus 2. Keep up the great work
The rein guide could be horse hames, which are part of a horse collar.
Your hair looks blue with the bit of sky behind you at the end! 😂 very happy you two showed up tonight!
The brass thing you broke was the top to a lamp shade....
I can’t get over how much silver you’re getting out of these fields it’s like a bottomless silver pit may it continue in the second video cheers John
The Navy anchor piece looks to be the center of a two piece military belt buckle known as an " Tongue & Wreath" variety.
Cracking video sir nice to see you two out😅
The horse tack item is called a gag loop.
I would say the anchor with B B means Baski Braindead from Austrian Detectorist 😂😂
Greetings from your Austrian colleague 🖖🏽
Pocket watch could be RJ Roberts, London
Amazing Jim!! I’ll look into that best wishes
I believe you have a "Whitworth" Bullet. Pretty rare item.
John at 10:42 it looks like you missed a ring like thing. Look at the top center
I noticed that, too.
Possibly a miners pit lamp token, i found one similar near a local colliery
Ahhh, that’s an idea!! I’ll look into that thanks
It’s a stir up mount connects the stir up to leather strap on the saddle
The thing that some people had claimed to you was a sword hanger is definitely a piece of harness hardware, probably a hanger for a check rein. Not a driving rein but a check rein.
Another good episode John 👌. What is the blue thing on the shaft of your detector.
That Caledon disc could be of a boat from county Tyrone N Ireland.. just a thought. Caledon on the banks of a river.
Ahhh, thanks Jeffrey. I’ll look into that one! Best wishes
Thnks for the vid!
3.10 it's horse tack, found this very item so many times around Edinburgh. Makes you wonder how they were so often lost.
Definitely rein guide.
Simons sword hanger... nooooo, reign hanger.. Have a search for horse brasses on leather straps...
ive seen something like that double ring thing round a rifle to attach a shoulder strap to
I missed the shout out. Can you please share the link to Simon’s new channel?
Thanks for all you do
Many thanks.
