  • Have you ever seen the likes of you and me?
    Taking it easy and rolling 'round
    In the morning came the sunrise in the city
    You're gonna look at me
    You're gonna see me
    Oh woman take me...
    I can talk all night long about my life and myself
    I've been many places, I can't even tell
    Sunshine falling rain on the people looking at the sky
    When I see you, I see you with my own eyes
    Everytime you're going home all alone, driving your car
    Mind your own business, don't go too far
    Time keeps playing just the same, you don't notice
    You don't notice what's coming on, what's coming on...
    There's no way I can get another day added on to my time
    I've been thinking too hard all the while
    It could've been better, I could've seen myself much more clear
    But you know what it's like when you run out of time and you say...

    40 years ago this month I saw Fast Eddie and his two pals at a small club in San Francisco when I was an 18 year-old knucklehead. They made the place shake, they blew the doors out and made me (stone) deaf for 3 days (not forever). A revelation. NOBODY had that sound then...or now. Awesome.

      I saw Motorhead with out eddie. think it was wurzel and Pete at the time but after each show i couldn't hear for atleast 3-4 days and i saw them 4 times, seriously loud as hell.

Was deaf for 3 days afterwards ! lol Lemmy , Filthy Phil and Fast Eddie ... 3 Amigos of Raw Power !!!

    Eddie defined the Motörhead Sound. Gave the Sound the Colour. Motörhead Was not only Lemmy. The three Amigos was the best and most iconic line up. Rip all three legends. Dont forget Phil Taylor with his absolute original and unique shuffle drum style.

    • @icecoldgazpacho

      I've always found each lineup had their own strengths and weaknesses. A few people have said something I thought for a long time. How interesting it is it took two people to replace the one guy. I really dug the original kits Phil Taylor had for the first stint he did. The second stint as their drummer he had more of a punk set up which was also pretty good.
      For the most part I really only liked Pete Gill playing Phil's songs. Mikkey Dee I found, not that he's a bad drummer ie Burner, tends to kinda ruin the classics.
      Phil Campbell playing the classics tends just to gloss over the intricate parts.
      Somewhere in the back of my mind, I'd like to imagine that they'd have been able to make a solid 8 piece band haha

    • @piirakkaliisa8340
      @piirakkaliisa8340 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lemmy was the engine of that car but the thing is car is much more than just a engine. It is also comfort in little things like smooth ride, AC, power steering, good seats etc. Raw power alone is just raw power and nothing more.
      All guitarplayers in motörhead are good but Eddie has the biggest blues and that means a lot..but not all :)

    • @madmonk66
      @madmonk66 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have said this many times myself- they were a band ot three distinct individuals- each with a uniuque approach and together that is what made the classic lineup of Motorhead so special- subsequent lineups were great, but there was truly a chemistry with Kilmister-Clarke-Taylor that can't really be replicated. It had a certain reckless greasy, nasty swagger to it. There was a mischievous element to it (could say punkiness but I hate labels ) that was replaced with a more conventional approach later. Sometimes it was lurching about barely in control. Greatness.

    I first saw Motörhead in 1979 aged 15, the Bomber tour with Saxon as support. I’ve forgotten how many times I’ve seen them with different line ups. The years with Eddie and Phil are my favorite, no question, there was nothing like them and there never will be again. That night in 78 changed my life forever and I listen to Motörhead every day and will until I throw a double six. Great images, thank you. 🤘

      I think guitarist who have the blues make the best, they know how to put "feeling" into each note they play, vs. the classical guitarist who looks to hit the notes, but not with any particular "feeling" added to it. To them it is nothing more than hitting a series of notes, a computer will one day do this, but there is no emotion in the notes or music played, it will be a big loss for music when this form ends up dominating the blues form of playing the guitar.

      Sorry
      But you are completely wrong

    The reason Motörhead has the bluesy rock n roll touch is because of this fucking man!!!! That’s why it makes me so pissed when people only talk about Lemmy (And I fucking LOVE Lemmy) but Motörhead is a band (Fast Eddie,Philthy Taylor, Campbell,Mikkey Dee) and Lemmy is just Lemmy. Don’t forget who was the man who created the ACE OF SPADES RIFF! That Man Created FASTWAY and that man is my favorite guitar player in the fucking world!

    Eddie's blues influence was the musicality behind Lemmy and Philthy's speed induced frantic metal rhythms-yet he pulled it off with great sounding fuzzy distortion from his brass pick guard Fender. I'm just now really appreciating his guitar playing on 'Ace of Spades' with the fret slide flourishes he liked to do between an explosion of notes during a solo.
