Man, nice setup. Id suggest getting those speakers out of the corner and away from the wall. The bass prots on the back will load up when there is a surface nearby and you will get bass nodes and spikes etc. They would sound 10 times better 300-400mm from the wall or corner!
He doesn't mix in his headphones. He clearly states he uses them as a reference for his mix. To hear any oddities or errors that he'll correct using his monitors.

Once you sound treat and equalize for primary speakers, it's generally more a matter of really getting to know your speakers in relation to your secondary, low-fi and mobile outputs. Personally, there are widely used monitors that I don't like the sound of at all; but some of those are used to produce award-winning mixes and masters-- so, have fun and enjoy the music and your studios.
This video was super official. Nice work SuperStar. My studio kinda is similar. I think I focused on the entertainment part for others in the studio a bit more and threw my PS4 and mounted a tv in the wall. Congrats on the build too bro.

Not that you need me to tell you, but you have done a really great job on your studio research and integration. Nice video too. Your studio shows you've come up with a great combination of performance and functionality, while integrating you own personal style in a fun by classy and professional way. Love those ultra wide video monitors. Since 2015, we have been only buying ultra wide 34's of various brands. Finally reasonable for the amount of pixels-- I remember when a 23" was over $3K (arghhh) just over a decade ago. I have done a lot of research and integration for myself and for others' media labs/studios, and I have repeatedly integrated some of the same solutions and approaches that you have. Obviously, it is always relative to one's objectives at a given price point, and you have no real weak links at that level. Great job man! Have you ever checked-out any of the various lines of Focal studio monitors? Obviously, their applicability depends on your objectives, budgets and surrounding components, but I have found that they can be very useful as one of a few levels of A/B/C monitors-- although, you've got a level of performance and value with your monitors that is hard to beat. I love some of the Generic's and and Adams, but at the prices of the the better ones, for many of us they are getting to a point of diminishing returns compared to what you've integrated with the Yamaha HS8's. I am just finishing-up my own dream studio, so I really appreciate the time and effort you have put into sharing your wisdom and education-- thanks!

im (sightly below) intermediate producer, im only 20, i currently have the mbox mini 3 interface, and m-audio axiom 49 gen 3, and JBL LSR305 (pair) and uses the Ignite(DAW) that is like a step up from a garage band lol, but this is a great looking studio, and i never thought about that eletrical balance thingy to protect my equipment.
Great vid fam. The new studio looks great. The Omiraxx desks are amazing. I've had mine for over 15 years and its still strong as a horse. I actually modified and expanded its width as it couldn't fit my 4 monitors in the center out of the box. The UAD Plugins are untouchable. They sound identical to the original outboard gear, my favs are the 1176, LA-2A & Fatso. I've had the Solo for madd years and recently thinkin about upgrading to a quad as they've come wayyy down in price.

in order to get the best out of those panels they have to be at least 2 inches off the wall. Thr sound is supposed to go through the panels then bounce of the wall and come back to the panels.

I would recommend you move your desk a bit away from the wall. That weird place where the wall goes in where your desk is can cause major bass buildup. Other than that, I love your setup!

If so, why did you go with the apollo with all that i/o? What would you need it for if you're not really routing out to outboard gear and back into the daw? Also, does this mean that you don't/can't record drums or guitars down the road? Seeing as how your studio is geared for primarily digital music [edm etc, "computer music" as they call it]. I know that outboard compressors and eq etc can be expensive, what are your thoughts on this model over a primarily digitally inclined studio? Thanks for the video.
