She's showing maturity and great professionalism by smiling at the camera on the podium and by doing this interview. You learn much more from your mistakes than from your success. And she succeded so much already! This only feeds her hunger for more.
Amazing rider with a bright future. I have been impressed by her increased fitness this year and ability to stay in hard climbs; she has such a bright future with so many wins in her future.
She has won so much. If it were one of her first wins she would be devastated. She is the best sprinter still. It was great that Vos said that she feels bad for her.
Great attitude. You learn and you grow, she admits she did not expect any attack from the left side, this is why the left side in Italian is named “sinistra” (sinister).
I was watching live and thought, “that’s karma for you.” But then you see this interview and she’s owning it, and she seems really sweet. Now I just feel badly for her.
After seeing Lorena snatch defeat from the arms of victory, it almost looked like Pidcock was going to do the same thing. I feel bad for a new(er) Pro like Lorena doing this, but for an experienced Pro, it almost the most entertaining part of the race. She got her crying done (I would have cried too) and now looks like she has the right perspective, which is to have a sense of humor about it.
It's unfortunate, but as Lorena said herself, it's a mistake you only make once. It's almost a right of passage to be the top sprinter. Haha. It was curious to hear her take on how sprinters respond to being boxed or squeezed against the barrier.
Can't blame her for wanting to celebrate a win in a race like this. I think many racers dream of throwing their hands in the air like that as they cross the line. But mistakes and miscalculations happen, and you learn from them for the future. She has a great attitude.
Unreal. Just wait ONE SECOND. Why is this so common? Any other job you’d be fired. Massive disappointment for the team and sponsors. Pay you all this money to gift wrap a win and hand it to another team. Bonkers. Pidcock almost gave it away too. Alaphilip a couple years ago multiple times. Wout. It’s crazy especially for the palmares obsessed. Just wait 1 second. Winning for most is rare and it’s not just a win, it’s a better contract in the future, probably a win bonus, team accolades, more sponsors. Crazy.
You're being judgmental af, clearly you've never made a regrettable mistake, especially in a big race. I have, exactly like this, it happens, even to the very best and it sucks because you never ever forget. Best you can do is move on with as much grace as possible and learn from it.
Everybody makes mistakes once in a while. And she handled her‘s with grace, so kudos to Lorena Wiebes. Now she knows you should never underestimate Vos. It‘s not the first time Vos won this way.
@@Lukearthwalker ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ we always laugh these things off like it’s a bonehead move for the rider, which it is, but it’s not just the rider it’s the team all the support they bring, the buses, the mechanics, the sponsors, they’re spending millions to WIN a single race and someone can’t wait 1 second to throw their hands in the air. It’s nuts. Massive sign of disrespect to everyone that helped put you in a position to win. To throw it away like that… wow. My take is extreme but I don’t think it’s wrong.
@@Lukearthwalker Zilch to do with the bike race really, it's about finishing a job you are paid to do and being a complacent twat and easing off the throttle early. She should be called out on it, put a feckin Dunce cap on her for the rest of the season lol
pretty hard to giggle in this situation, either she doesn't care or she is a weirdo who laughs when she does something extremely dumb. Did she really learn her lesson if she can laugh about it this soon after? time will tell.
In the Knucklehead club with quite a few other egomaniacs looking for the finish line photo over the actual win.... superb to watch someone F-up so badly snatching defeat from the jaws of victory!
She has the class to admit her failure and do the interview, so good for her. I don't think that she'll ever do that again.
Her teammates will also never work for her again like that.
@@soulripper31 🤣🤣

Vos has done this before, beaten someone who celebrated to early, she clearly has learned from her success that fighting till the end gets rewarded.
There is nothing you can do about it but to look forward. Forget about it move on. Everybody makes mistakes.
Shocking to watch it happen, but she handled it with humility and grace. 👏
She’ll bounce back stronger.
Amazing rider with a bright future. I have been impressed by her increased fitness this year and ability to stay in hard climbs; she has such a bright future with so many wins in her future.
Oh she’s so awesome, feel so bad for her but what a great attitude as mentioned already.
Classy! Can't wait to see next year
It happens. Now Lorena and Julien Alaphilippe have something to talk about over beer. Great attitude and optimism. Rock on!
Fair play to her - ballsy enough to admit her mistake and not shy away from it. You can't ask for more from athletes.
She has won so much. If it were one of her first wins she would be devastated. She is the best sprinter still. It was great that Vos said that she feels bad for her.
The way Lorena and her SDW mates handled this blow was very awesome. And as a result Lorena is fully recovered from this blow back. Well done.
I have to say she handled it pretty well, a lot of other riders even great ones wouldn't handle it so well.
Great attitude. You learn and you grow, she admits she did not expect any attack from the left side, this is why the left side in Italian is named “sinistra” (sinister).
A self-inflicted teaching moment. Learn and move on.
Did not expect that. Seems like a cool person!
What class well done for doing the interview and taking it like a champ
That's why Vos is the greatest women's cyclist ever, pure class in every discipline.
Why? She did the exact same thing in this race in 2021. Celebrated waaay too early and almost lost the race...
@@samh2023 ALMOST, that's why she is better :)
Great interview, she's earned respect. Good luck to her! 😍
Class act!
Erik Zabel threw away a Milan San Remo this way in 20 years ago.... so it happens to the greatest, don't worry

She wanted a nice picture of her crossing the finish while celebrating. The only positive about all of this is ... she got the picture she wanted :)
It blows my mind that this still happens in cycling.
Maybe next Time...
Very classy!!!
Very professional lady. Admits her mistake and learned from it.

Real humility isn't afraid of the truth. I'm proud of you for learning from your mistake.

I think her team mates who gave her the chance to win, weren't smiling like this.
to make mistakes is human ..... we all make mistakes.....
😢
Kopf hoch,das passiert nun mal..🤷♂️💪
Ala Alaphilipe! Ouch. Poor Lorena, although I’m thrilled for Vos that must have been incredibly embarrassing 🙈
arhgggg ....sabotach !...
She was the best, she won only unofficially :)
That's not how it works. She lost the race, and was 2nd best.
She was stronger if she doesn't celebrate she wins It's just a line if she doesn't celebrate she crosses the finish line first.
The first to cross the line knows this well, so this is not a sweet victory because she "didn't even win"
