Nothing wrong with buying a brand new car now but a good advice from everyone needing to buy a new car right now is to do your research really well and walk away when the car sales person doesn't get close to your price range. Another advice is that if you are going to lease, don't give more than 3k for a deposit, heck, don't give any deposit at all but if you must, $3000 should be the max and try to negotiate the MSRP of the car and possibly get rid of those extra fees and stuff they like to add on. Also, if you're able to order your car online and get a cheaper deal on their website compared to a dealership, go ahead and do it. I just bought a 2021 Honda Accord 2.0T sport and put too much deposit and payments still weren't low enough to meet my budget yet i screwed up thinking i was getting a deal....should have walked away because usually the dealership manager will walk out to give you a better deal. And even then, walk away again if they still can't get close to your price. I needed a new car since all of the used ones were overpriced for what they were offering. Still love my 2021 Honda Accord though

It will be better in the long run to get the 2023 Type R, there will not be a 2022 Type-R same with the 10th gen Civic, there was no 2016 Type-R, started in 2017, and rumors are the same will happen again, and for that I am glad since there is less chance for production errors since by 2023 the 11th gen Civic will be really good. Let's talk driving experience, I've driven the 2022 Civic and all the Type-Rs that have came out, the 2022 Civic and 2023 Type-R will have a WAY better driving experience due to the fact that there is wireless carplay, wireless charger, premium bose sound system, better stock exhaust, etc, just way more features all around to make it better. While the 2021 10th gen looks a whole lot better and more aggressive I do hope Honda improves the 2022 Civic to make the 2023 Type-R that much better and aggressive enough for Type-R owners. We will just have to wait and see. Anyways my point here is definitely set your hopes for a 2023 Type-R. The last con about the 2021 Type-R is there is barely any left because there was barely any produced, the ones that still do exist have insane markups, etc. If you buy used that is one thing but I'd go for new personally.
im glad you said it, i also agree on tesla's cars, there fast and have bunch of technology but a good sounding high revving motor will never be boring, fast or slow. electric cars are a trick on the senses. I'd rather stick to a car that sings.
Keep that shifter it's way better, not only does it look cleaner in every way but it's also from Honda so it's OEM obviously and it has that leather around it which although it may look a bit strange, comes in clutch in the Summer (or Winter if you for some reason daily this car during the winter) so when you grab the shift knob it's not burning your hand or freezing it off
@@lildavidgarcia Ah okay, just wasn't sure bc when I initially saw you say something about the shifter it sounded like you were going to replace it, my bad. It is really cool though!

Congrats! I also own a 21 SGP Type R, I originally wanted a Boost Blue but couldnt find one at MSRP. Eventually I had to settle on SGP because of the price but since owning it I have really come to love the color of the car, its very unique looking and depending on the time of day some times looks more blue and other times closer to green. First thing you should do is get rid of the wheels and tires! car has 4k miles on it, those skinny ass tires going to last maybe anothe 6 or 7k miles before you have to buy new ones. Get some 18's it will actually improve the ride quality a bit and save you from having to change the tires more often.
The mark up can be insane depending on where you live - I bought mine 3 months ago in Georgia and had it shipped to southern california because of the mark ups
i sold my 2020 civic sport hatch to carmax last month for $24,800 with 13xxx miles on it. and it was only $23,600 when i got it brand new. not as much as what they paid you for your Si, but guess what i got the very next day? brand new 2021 CTR as well! tbh, i think u should get rid of the door side moldings, the car looks more clean without those. and i replaced the CTR stock wheels the very next week with some 18" and the car is a lot more livable now. strongly recommend to go smaller sized wheels.
This is why people should just wait. My prediction is in Spring of 2022 (if we are all here as a species) the supply chain and chip shortage will ease significantly and car prices will realign to not be so inflated.
also first mods! Intake and Exhaust just cause 10th gen civics have like a really muted sound cause at the end of the day it's still an "economy car" on my Si that was the first mod plus it helps with power gains in the future and you can hear the turbo spool better.
This was recommended to me. I see that you're local here in SoCal. I think one of the first mods should be a shifter assembly. It just makes shifting feel a lot better. Lmk if you would like to buy one. I have the hybrid Racing shifter assembly I'm looking to sell. I just recently sold my Si coupe and bought my friends type R and it's a whole different beast. Thank you bro. That’s exactly what I was telling her we should get for it first! She loves hearing the little turbo sounds so an intake would make it even more fun to drive. Her brother also recommended that same intake cause that’s what he has for his hatch as well
Yeah when I installed it i told myself maybe i paid a lil too much for just an intake like $450, but when I took it for a test drive I was amazed with great the sound effects it made, it was all worth it. If you were to get the exhaust 1st, you're not gonna be able to hear the intake as much, plus the stock exhaust looks nice and unique she can probably enjoy it for a while.
@@leondejesus7789 yeah the stock exhaust does look nice and she’s also happy with it so we’ll for sure be doing an intake first! You’ll most likely see it in one of my videos soon haha
I took my new Accord 2.0 to the dealership for its first service and they had a new Type R in the showroom. I offered to buy the Type R right on the spot at MSRP, but they refused.
MY dude found a keeper! The women I speak to don't even want to driver period. Forget even asking them to learn & drive a manual with me on a road trip or just to chill.
I’ve heard that the type r has transmission issues like grinding from 1st to 2nd or getting locked out from other gears. Has your girlfriend or you experienced that?
My buddy has had 2 type rs and they both had this issue but it never really amounted to anything. Usually only happened when you were really getting it anyway.
Those issues were not only rare, but also fixed with the refreshed model of 2020, so the 2020 and 2021 model year Civic Type-Rs no longer have that rare issue
@@enriquesamano5219 No problem! If you plan on getting one though I'd honestly hold off for the 2023 model, 2021s are impossible to get right now plus dealer markups in most areas are just insane. Also of course the next generation Type-R is going to be crazy in terms of features anyways. Wireless carplay, wireless charger, bose premium sound system, the bigger screen, who knows what other surprises they might add too

She kept it in Sport mode the whole time? Gotta put her in R+ to get the full feel.
thats the most generous carmax offer ever seen
A great day buying your dream car🤘🏻congrats
Damn! That’s a good price.
Honda type R in the Philippines is around 60,000 dollars :(
Wait what was the out the door price
What is the name of that color?
Sonic gray
This is what I wanted!!
Wholesome 😭
@@EricB90 yea that’s what I’ve heard
@@NorthernLaw_ good to know thanks 👍
@@enriquesamano5219 No problem! If you plan on getting one though I'd honestly hold off for the 2023 model, 2021s are impossible to get right now plus dealer markups in most areas are just insane. Also of course the next generation Type-R is going to be crazy in terms of features anyways. Wireless carplay, wireless charger, bose premium sound system, the bigger screen, who knows what other surprises they might add too
Congrats! I'm interested in the new 2022 Civic Si. I want it in that exclusive blazing orange color.
👍. Keep it stocked. Original is beautiful.
