  • @reallyfrodo

    Love the idea, but it seems like the wheel should be in the center like a onewheel, so your weight is pushing down directly on it, instead of on the back where the only weight it has pushing it into the snow is the weight of the device itself. Seems also like it should be a track, not a wheel. A wheel only has a small point of contact, a track could have 12" of contact. I've developed a handful of products and this seems like a gen 1 prototype, not a product yet. I hope they keep refining it to make it work, I'd love to go flatgrounding on a board in the backcountry.

    • @reallyfrodo
      @reallyfrodo ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Actually, while i'm talking to myself about this, I can see it better if it abandoned the idea of a board entirely. If you had bindings positioned like a board, that could rocker/pivot to steer, but the actual surface hitting the snow was more like a snowmobile/machine, where it's a combo of skis and powered tracks, that might work. Boards rely on edges, but power requires traction, and the more power you get to bite into snow the less you can use an edge to steer. Anyways, this was fun.

    Ive thought about this in depth, first, good on you for figuring out the motor suspension. Second, have you tried centering the motor? Third GAS POWER!!! and lastly, have you tried a longer belt style drive? Just a little bit more length could allow for an attack angle on the belt via suspension and more grip due to length. Cheers.

    Go to step in bindings make release at certain force, have shut off chord when off board for crash, split wheel into two, move the wheels will away from each other and towards the inner edge, get rid of remote add gyro stabilizer to turn on or of automatically, have spring load wheel. So it turns off and raises on cruise, cut battery in half, add manual kick pump, run a kinetic energy generator cause it’s snow boarding. The idea is your a steamboat, the river will push you , They did this in ww1 as a boat, it was really fast, They had cat tracks pre ww1, solid start

    • @DanielMckean-id9xo
      @DanielMckean-id9xo 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It has to be a snowboard first. Don’t forget that, that’s what u forget here, it would be easier if I had a gyro kite or parachute to move

  • @MikeInTheWoods
    @MikeInTheWoods ปีที่แล้ว

    Dang, I was hoping this would be better than it is. I think the main issue is not enough weight applied to the motor wheel because your foot is locked too far forward. If you look at the DIY electric snowboard on my channel, you'll see I step basically right down at the base of the motor mount arms. Gets me going with a lot weaker 500W motor, and I'm a heavy dude (240lbs). And mine cost 1/3 to make as this did to purchase. Come check out the one on my channel, I think there's lots of potential for electric snowboards!

  • @jessemarquez7360
    @jessemarquez7360 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Ive seen a similar one on insta called power traverse. that one seems to have a much beefier motor. I wonder how that would do in comparison to this one.

  • @HansZuerner918
    @HansZuerner918 ปีที่แล้ว

    if the tire could lift up and lower down that would help because then you could still ride it and get way more grip when its lowered if u made it lower an extra couple inches. then a paddle tire with deep paddles too!

    Metal wire in the bottom of the board that rotates from the top of the board to the bottom on both sides have a motor spin that wire to give you some grip and get you going . That wheel should be replaced with something thinner that can give you traction throughout the whole board not just the back .

  • @Domigod1
    @Domigod1 ปีที่แล้ว

    You would think it would be better in powder it would be too heavy in powder. I feel like if it had spikes on the tire it would probably be grabbing at the snow and pulling you forward. I also bet it would work on lighter because where your back foot is at on the board would make it much more difficult for the tiny wheel to push you forward

  • @Andrew-hp1yj
    @Andrew-hp1yj ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Remote is borked. Not the right tread on the tires. Not enough downforce being applied by those springs. (This could be do to the flimsiness of the board or the weak springs themselves).

  • @cringecrew101asmr8
    @cringecrew101asmr8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It needs to be attached to a stiffer board to actually press the wheels into the snow. A benefit to something like a snowmobile is the weight and inability to flex except for in the parts that help mobility.

    • @trex2957
      @trex2957 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      😢A snowmobile has a large flat contact with the snow. This has a roller with a tiny foot print and completely different action. Think taking a bottle brush and spinning it against something versus taking a dozen bottle brushes side by side and pushing them along the surface. One has almost no contact and just spins against it the other scrapes against a big patch of snow with a pushing station.
      This is crap. There's probably some way to invent a snow outboard for very specific powder riding which gets straight destroyed by the first rock I meets, or a lame thing like this for flat basing near tarmac... maybeven down your drive way to get the morning paper in Guangzhu, but both will heavy unfun pos.

    I'm pretty big into electric skateboarding and just wanted to say all the electronic issues just basically shouldn't be happening. The random disconnects and getting stuck at full power are obviously massive issues. I've ridden my 600 dollar electric skateboard for over 2000 miles at this point and it has never even disconnected, let alone gotten stuck at full power. It's also five years old at this point and its not like the technology got worse in that amount of time. It truly just seems poorly engineered.

    A hard pack groomed trail would be more appropriate especially north east mountains that have colder temps, less snow and much more hard pack than the west. Between the bindings might be an all around better placement. It’s probably to tight a space for a mini track which would be better than a wheel.

    This is a solution looking for a problem that doesn't exist. Super tail heavy. For the wait instead of using the spinning wheel they should have used treads like a snowmobile. I still wouldn't buy it then even.
