I had a ride on 314M last week. I just got off a train on P1 at Melbourne Central and it was just arriving onto P2 so I took it to Flinders Street. It formed a Craigieburn service from P8 at Flinders Street (something interesting in itself).
Nice Video Mate, i just wanna say 314M as well as 1017T and 334M are now withdrawn at newport workshops, so no longer in service. The oldest carriage is 324M - 1031T - 342M, entering service on Tue, 21st Sep 1982.
I looked at the damage to 333M and while it isn't a very significant amount of damage, I'd assume it was not worth the money or time to repair the carriage.
I know right, examples such as 394M as well as 1156T sustaining a major kink in its chassis in the Holmesglen accident, both of which being far more extensively damaged and was still repaired.
It’s worth mentioning that 314M was around when high numbers of blue Harris and Taits were still trundling around…. Sad to see these faithfuls disappear
There was also a thing with it and innovoics as well but I dont remember much about it
Very great video as always
Thanks! And yes, a set with some cool history
Always nice to have a spare or two around the back.
Lol yes

Lucky find! And yes, P10 is more common for Craigieburn in addition to the typical P4 or 5. Wonder why it departed from there
Oh wow this was very interesting, hope I get to ride 314M or at least the train it's part of one day. Great video.
Keep searching. Im sure ull find it with luck some day. And thanks!

Thanks! And yes they are. The oldest carriage in service is actually 1008T, entering service in May, 1982
EDI Comeng trains probably have until 2026 or 2027 before they are withdrawn. The X’trapolis 2.0 trains have taken a while.
How did you do that announcement at the start
Got it from somewhere. Told I couldn't share how I got it tho. Sorry about that :(

Must be the case. Though oddly there has been far worse damage (well from what we can see) from other collisions which has been repaired

True. Would have been a great thing to say just to show how long its been around. Hoepfully people read ur comment!
