    nice video, I like the fact you were testing it under real world backcountry conditions!

    Nice job with the review, thanks. Do you know if the shower head screws completely off? I'm looking for a large water bag to use with a gravity filtering system.

    I looking to purchase backpacking shower. I'm learning towards this one at the moment. Any regrets or have you replaced it? As far as water seeping through the material, think Nikwax would fix it? I like how light weight and small pack size. Thank you for the effort to show us.

    In colder areas with less sun I’m guessing it would be ok to heat up water on the stove instead of using the sun? Obvs not boiling water

    Try placing it on a rock to heat instead hanging in the air. The rocks get heated and warm the water. When you hang it is expised to the breeze that cools the water.

    Seeping looks like condensation buddy. Awesome review, thanks so much for the vid.

      that's what I thought at first, but I found that if I looked closely I could actually watch the water seep. I would like to think maybe I got a defective one but who know,

      Why would air condensate in dry mountain air and in situ water? I know condensation would happen if you fill cold tab water and hang it out a warm sunny day.

    Are you sure it isn't condensation? Go fill a water bottle up and see if you get the same result. Is the bottle seeping?

      I think is a condesation at that altitude...

    Aren't these Sea to Summit pocket showers more like a breathable rain jacket, a woven syn cloth with a breathable membrane laminated on the inside ? If so, it is seepage through the bladder much like GoreTex would eventually do when continuously soaked. Like you say, it's no big deal.

    • @artgavel6983
      @artgavel6983  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      that is possible. as I have since moved more towards "ultralight", I no longer use the pocket shower as part of my protocol. I still have it though and may use it in the future when traveling with companions.

    Great review. Surprised that it leak water. You can cool a beer wrapping it in a wet newspaper and put it in the sun. The evaporation sucks heat out of the beer. So that is not going to help getting the water heated any altitude.

      the old camp shower we had for car camping that was clear on one side and black on the bottom side. worked great as it let sunlight through and heated from the bottom

    Seeping is very important. A bag the seeps allows evaporation and evaporation equals cooling.

      What was the humidity level? Perhaps you encountered condensation, not seepage. (Shower water would need to be colder than the air.)

    • @artgavel6983
      @artgavel6983  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it was a super clear day. never thought about condensation, but I could actually watch the beads seeping through the material. had I known I probably would have done an exchange instead of a return. being as how I am on a ultra light quest I have deleted that accessory from my pack for now
