- Hello and Welcome to The Whoniverse, now in this video I thought it would be a good idea to take an in depth look at the character known as the First Doctor, this video will feature a look at the character’s identity and personality as well as a brief history or timeline of events and a look at the friends and foes he’s encountered all to answer the question on many people’s minds: who is the First Doctor?

@@williamfurlong9786 Romana noted the Doctor had been travelling in the TARDIS for 523 years. This would have made the Doctor about 236 when he first "borrowed" the TARDIS and left Gallifrey. (TV: The Pirate Planet) It is speculation that there will be a younger "first" Doctor, we saw a juvenile Master and with the changes Chibnall has made I can see us seeing a younger "first" Doctor.
The First Doctor....or the Doctor was the benchmark for all his later regenerations ...he started as a mysterious character but later became a friendly figure who abhors violence.
TERRY. W I think it was just the show experimenting with the doctor though. They had to experiment and see what works and what doesn't
The Frist Doctor was also seen in Series 8 when Clara sceared him shitless as a young child

The First Doctor is very underated. I think some fans don't appreciate him because over the course of his era he becomes the hero we know today, it's part of his character arc and development. But that has begun to change over the last few years. I've talked about he and his era quite a bit on my channel if anyone wants to check it out.
Great video! One of my personal favourite 1st Doctor moments (and quite an underrated one) is when the Doctor stands his ground against the War Machines as everyone else retreats, and shows just how courageous he is in the face of death (it also makes for a great cliffhanger).

The story where the Doctor meets Doc Holliday and the gunslingers is actually called "The Gunfighters" and is the last serial which each episode having a distinct name.

Well to be honest the most reasonable Incarnation is First himself because you can clearly see he’s a wise old time traveller from Gallifrey who is pissed after stealing Rassilon’s cuppa tea meanwhile, in his timeship taking off to Totters La- Anyway.. out of subject what I’m trying to say is The First Doctor is the best and the Original You Might Say!

In your video about the powers of the Doctor you say that Time Lords can sense another by smell but the first couldn't. The Meddling Monk was a Time Lord but they only realised when they found his TARDIS and as you said he encountered the Master but didn't recognise him. Oh yes I nearly forgot in the episode Time and the Rani the seventh Doctor does not recognise the Rani disguised as Mel but he's newly regenerated and confused.

my theory is that the Doctor is on a continuous loop. near the end of his regeneration he goes back, helps found the time lords, loses his memory, and starts all over again

if I had a time machine I would go back and record each episode as it aired (as for how HELLO, TIME MACHINE) then I would return to the present and sell them back to the BBC

Steven didn't blame the Doctor for the deaths of Katarina and Sara, her blamed him for not saving Anna Chaplet from the Massacre of St. Bartholomew's eve. He finally forgave the Doctor when he realised that Dodo's last name is Chaplet as well and she might be a descendant of Anna which would mean that she was able to flee from France to England - as many thousands other Huguenots, too.

That was over fifty years ago, on a dismal budget. They recently recreated that design in 2017, with much better results.
