    Hope you doing well, cool dog by the way. I have been a subscriber on your channel for some time now and appreciate the tips that you post on your videos because it can be applied to other engineering fields. How do you like the transition to sales and do you feel that this new role fits more with your personality? Great content and have a great day.

    • @TheBMELife
      @TheBMELife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello! Definitely remember you, good to see hear from you again! I appreciate the feedback.
      Transition to sales has been a little challenging. Definitely different kinds of pressure/stress. Work itself is very easy really, but the things that put stress on you are more emotional rather than technical, if that makes sense. Im not sure if it fits better with my personality, to be honest. Still trying to figure it out!
      The main reason I wanted to try it out is because of the uncapped income potential. I liked the idea of having a base salary + commissions. And I guess the thought of “I can make more money if I work harder” was appealing. But again, still trying to figure it out.
      How are you doing??

    • @victoryiswithinus
      @victoryiswithinus ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheBMELife Doing well, thanks for connecting with me on linkedIn, I see now I understand, having a technical background and be able to combine it with a sales approach can be very beneficial. It is a good way to let your audience know what to expect if going into engineering sales or technical sales.

    What is the salary structure? A base salary + bonuses based on performance?

    • @TheBMELife
      @TheBMELife  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m sure it might differ depending on the company. But from what I’ve heard and experienced, it is base salary + commission on sale. Commission is typically a percentage of the sales price. For example, if commission is 3% and you sold $1M in a year, that would be $30K in commission for that year.

    • @cryora
      @cryora ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheBMELife Thanks. What type of business involves a sales engineer selling $1M in a year? I imagine these are business deals that are large in scale, therefore more money is involved, so a low commission rate like 3% is expected? It would certainly be hard to sell $1M if it involves selling, say, hundred dollar devices to individual end users - as opposed to b2b sales with massive volume.

    • @TheBMELife
      @TheBMELife  ปีที่แล้ว

      In my experience, it was not hard to get a job in the field without the experience. Just needed the connections. However, once I started the job, it was definitely a learning curve. It definitely took time for me to learn and understand our technology/solutions. In the other hand, it also takes time to learn sales skills. It’s hard, but not impossible.

    Hello.
    I want to ask you: I am torn between studying 1_biomedical engineering, 2_biotechnology, or 3_bioinformatics.... And what is the difference between biotechnology and bioinformatics... ???
    And.... Can you tell me which specialty has the highest rate of employment and great job opportunities between these three majors ? I am not asking about the salary, I mean which specialty has the highest percentage of employment and job opportunities... ? Please tell me, because this really matters to me😔✒️٠
    I hope you understand my question, and advise me... By the way, I find myself somewhat inclined to STEM skills..... At the same time, I love biology and exact sciences...
    I would like you to advise me which specialization to choose among the three majors.... By taking into account the best specialization in the abundance of job opportunities...
