HW Bush was a solid President…A mild recession at the end of his tenure and Ross Perot were the only reasons Clinton squeaked out a victory in 92’. Clinton was forced to the center by strong leadership in congress via Newt Gingrich and the contract with America. Clinton also benefited from the aftermath of the Reagan era policies from the 1980’s, and a post Cold War world. That gave Clinton a lot flexibility to operate. Don’t get me wrong Clinton was a skilled politician and a good president, I liked him, but much of that success was due to the centrist approach he was forced to take, which was successful. Flawed character, but overall a good president.

Razor's edge, my dude. One thing is to misbehave in private, discreetly, and make journalists really work for the details, and have citizens wonder if it's true, etc., etc., and another thing altogether is to be blatant and reckless, and have the opposition political party sink their hooks into your balls and make you sign away Glass-Steagall and who knows what else to stop bopping him over the head in public with his misbehavior.
Because of that, he is on the razor's edge of belonging or not quite making the cut as one of the greatest Presidents to come out of the Democratic Party (let alone one the group of 'greatest Presidents', period) of all time.
And that's me and many other voters being very generous-- especially given how all of that impacted Al Gore in the 2000 Elections. smh.

Bill Clinton DID have a dangerous history with women. Just what went down with Monica Lewinsky in the Oval Office justified Phil's relevant questioning of Clinton's history with women turns out. Many were silenced or bought off. Sexual harassment allegations as well as allegations of assault. Juanita Broderick accused him of Rape.
