Great Tutorial. Can I ask about the foam strip? I haven't been able to find exactly that and I'm wondering if this is special heat resistant stuff or can we sub out any foam strip?

The edge of my Kitchenaid cooktop glass is broken/chipped. do you have the metal peice covering the edges as shown on this video?

I don't know the answer to your question, but I can say that I think it is much preferable to have permanent 220 volt electric devices where a cord is hidden out of sight such as your stove or a baseboard heater, hardwired. It's really easy. Just match up the colors both from the stove and from the wall. Of course make sure you have turned off the circuit breaker to your stove. You absolutely do not want to get a 220 volt shock. That will ruin your day. (Understatement)

Not true. I've done fixes like this a couple of times.
In Canada, you or the contractor legally need to apply for a permit before any electrical installation, alteration, repair or extension work is commenced. CEC 2-004
That's why you save money by doing it yourself and not telling anyone
@@lordgman1 it could void your home insurance policy if your home burns down due to the bad unlicensed install if the insurance company finds out, which is unlikely how would they know a glass was swapped out if it's the exact same glass? check your policy but don't call your insurance company cause they will obvious make a note in the computer if you ask.
