      I don't understand. I'm natural and only weigh 155 pounds and I bench 285. That's kind of close to him weighing over 200 pounds and on gear. But bench is by far my best lift. I can't deadlift half of what he pulled. His bench should be way higher.

    It would’ve made sense to practice the commands on like the last two weeks of your training leading up to the comp. That’s what I usually do just to drill it into my head to pay attention to the calls

    sumo does not count, and you have zero control of the weight as you lower it, you just drop it. that is a major reason why people say sumo does not count since 99% of sumo lifters have zero control on the lowering portion of the lift.

      Mate does lift is called a “dead” “lift” you lift it at a dead stop. Not “controlled” “descend”

      @@swimkidandyI pull conventional and this is the most ridiculous “sumo doesn’t count” argument. Even pulling conventional, I “ride the weight” down, keeping my hands around the bar but not controlling it down and have never been red lighted for that reason.
