    What is Cervical Disc Prolapse?
    Slip disc or protruding disc occurs when the cushion-like cartilage (the disc) in between the vertebrae is torn, and the central core (Nucleus Pulposus) of the disc leaks. Slip disc can occur at any part of the spine, cervical (neck), thoracic (upper and mid-back) and/or lumbar spine (lower back). Slip disc can be caused by a sudden trauma or by long-term pressure on the spine (prolonged sitting). People aged between 30 to 50 years are most commonly affected by slip disc. Repeated lifting, poor posture, sedentary life style and obesity are some of the risk factors for herniated disc.
    In severe cases, a prolapsed disc might compress the nerves coming out of the neck bone causing cervical radiculopathy.
    What is Cervical Spondylosis?
    Cervical spondylosis (neck spine arthritis) is one of the most common cause of neck pain in the elderly population. As you age, most people develop some degree of wear and tear in the cervical spine leading to spondylosis. The other causes include, prolonged poor posture, injuries to spine, overuse of spinal joints, and excessive body weight. Pain and stiffness in the neck are the usual early symptoms, however few people might be symptom-free for a long time. Although severe cases may require surgical treatment, most people will respond very well to physiotherapy and exercise-based treatment.

    Excellent info Dr...
    Been having neck issues on and off over the last 2 years.. I was told it’s cervical spondylosis. I have slight tilts now and then I mean light headedness
    I had been taking Accupunture along with daily isometric exercise. particularly for neck muscle.

      After doing my beck strengthening exercise I’m much better apparently the dizzy tilts I’ve been getting is termed as cervicogenic dizziness
      From what my physio had told me I’m doing everything to reduce that mild dizzy spills…

    Pain in my neck aroused when I turned my neck suddenly towards right side leaving my body fixed in sleeping position. Thereafter I can't be in sitting position for more than 15-20 minutes. Pain places in middle of the neck severely and settles down only when I rest my neck on pillow. How do I respond to it??

    Hello sir i am Nishanth my age is 21 i have severe neck pain also i will take MRI scan in that report there is mentioned C3-C4 mild disc desiccation, mild disc bluge and focal left foraminal disc protrusion, nerve foraminal narrowing, compression of ipsilateral C4 existing nerve root.       Hi, hearing a sound in the neck is not a big problem. It can be due to degeneration or muscle spasm. You can try the neck and back exercises in my channel. Thx
