Had the type s for 2 years, now upgraded to a 2.2 diesel si. Egr valve electronically deleted stage 1 remap so +50 bhp now 190 bhp now on bmw turf. Not one ounce of black smoke.
Hi mate I know it’s been 3 years 😂 but how’s that car doing I recently brought a SI 2.2 litre with 140,000 just wondering how many miles you got out of yours
Got a 2006 1.8 ex (Comes with factory fitted Xenons if you prefer them) Love this car, new clutch, amongst other stuff and I think it's a really nice looking car.
I have the same model. but I have 218 000KM on the speedo. Did the suspension today with KYB shocks all around, 18" BBS blacked out wheels . Did tie rod ends and lower control arms both sides and went for wheel alignment, Also went full stainless free flow exhaust with De-cat by Powerflow and the car feels brand new. The throttle response after the De-Cat was very noticeable. Only thing that went down was the aircon pump which I am fixing in the next week. Very reliable car, never got stuck along the road. Next upgrade will probably be a Induction kit and I am happy. Did I forget to mention how GODLIKE the car sounds after De-Cat, boy oh boy it sounds incredible.
Sory im late the only thing i dont like in my 1,8 3door typeS is that air from engine comes inside through plastics in radio and through drivers feet 😒 But i like everything else 💪
I was hoping this would be a tuned car as my recently purchased 1.8 vtec is a bit slow after my E46 330CD and Mk4 Golf PD150 mapped to 200bhp. My car is a 2011 and only cost £650, I have the cash to spend a good few hundred for more bhp. Performance is about the same as my 1987 Ford Sierra 2.0 GLSi I had in the 90's when I was 21. That was an ill handling car so didn't really want a great deal more power. It also looked like a Cosworth so that was cool, drivers would pull over to let me by.
It's actually painful watching this in 2023 and hearing you say they can be picked up for a grand. They are 2k minimum now and that's not even a clean example
I recently brought a 2.2 diesel SI with 140,000 miles (yes I know it’s a lot) for £1,200 and it seems fine with no issues and the power it has when you floor it is pretty decent

Brv, I got the same car, but mine has a grind noise, it's there at start up, if I press the clutch it goes until I release the clutch, I'm guessing gearbox, any ideas please fella
Why no one tunes 1.8. i know u can get turbo kit, for around 4k (with Basic tune) which gaves around 200bhp. If you Forge engine you can go for 300. But it will cost you ££££ cuz no one does them
I have just bought the same, currently doing it up, would love to chat more and discuss what sort of stuff I can do with it. I also don't know what model it falls under (fn2, fk37, ep, ETC) would love to know what to look for!

Stop playing you are not DMO also I have the exact same car but mine is a whole lot nicer the V tech in the R 18 works kind of in reverse to standard VTEC it kicks in at low revs to give you economy when you put your foot down it drops into normal mode which is the performance highlift cams it works in reverse great for fuel economy but decent power when you’re driving it how we drive them
Just buy the diesel delete the egr valve + remap. 190bhp straight away for £270 shit loads of torque and still 46-47 mpg sitting at 115mph and thats just tickling the throttle.

Mate quick question will fn2 clutch pedal fit fn1 type s mine is squeaking want to replace it not sure if it’s direct fit?
Not 100% sure if I’m honest but I’ll find out for you though mate 👍🏻
I have replaced my 2006 civic model and immobiliser key light start flashing n car wouldn’t start so do I take to dealer to reprogrammed.
Try an OBD2 reader reset and see if that helps 👍🏻
I got honda civic 1.8 how did u put the air performance filter cuz apprenly u have to cut the box or something so it fits
I’m dropping a video on it this week! 👍🏻

It's 2024 and I bought a really tidy 2011 Vtec 1.8 Si for £650. Cars have gone cheap now, sitting on my cash for the past few years has paid off.

how complicated isit to fit hid's on them as I recently got myself type s looking to fit hids
Very easy to fit, got a video coming on the Audi TT of fitting them in the next few weeks and it’s basically the same 👍🏻
Is that the Sainsbury's in Colliers Wood?

I like the sound of that to be honest maybe in the not to distant future we can go the full way!
I'd like to see this. I'd love to get more power out of my mk8 but you hardly hear or see people modify the 1.8
Probably because you could get a k20 swap for roughly the same amount of money
