    Even years after uploading it , this video helps alot! I got my first dirtbike used so i had to change the clutch fluid and after failing to reverse bleed it with a syringe your method worked great!

    Thanks for the video, it was a huge help. Leaning the bike over as far as possible was the key I was looking for. Also, just letting the lever snap back after a pump helped bring out lots of bubbles. 10 mins after this method and I was done, no syringe.

    If you get copper washers, the best way to get an oil tight seal is to anneal the washers, which is what needs to be done to copper head gaskets. You simply heat the washer with a butane torch (hold the washer with needle point pliers or similar), the color will change and it will turn matt with no gloss, then drop the washer in water. The scale will drop off. Annealed copper is very pliable and allows you to torque up the washers, they will go hard over time and give a very oil tight seal.

    Did you notice it was leaking first or did you lose the pressure or resistance to the clutch lever

    regular mineral oil bleeds so much easier in these clutches...however, it does make your clutch pull ridiculously hard compared to magura mineral oil. its good to have some baby oil in a pinch tho. i had that issue a few years ago at an event.

    Great bleeding technique. I was peeking around looking at what people are doing. I have a husky te150 with low hours and clutch drags. Won’t fully disengage. Started with bleeding.

    Just wondering did ur clutch have problems like no give to it and not working? Im having that problem with my ktm 1998 200cc. Oh second question im guessing i doesnt matter what kind of mineral oil you use for the clutch?

    • @akreutz
      @akreutz  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It would just leak out of the stock slave cylinder and so the lever would go dead.

    • @612murderapolis

      August so did u have to replace the cylinder? Or did u just bleed it to find a leak?

    Can i using dot 4 brake fluid for hydraulic clutch?

    • @akreutz
      @akreutz  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do not use DOT. these systems are designed for mineral oil. DOT will eat away the seals.

    • @ravethesteel
      @ravethesteel 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use atf oil

    • @sidecarbod1441
      @sidecarbod1441 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@akreutz That's not true! It depends on what master cylinder unit the bike has, many KTMs have a Brembo unit which uses DOT fluid. The Magura unit uses mineral oil. The Oberon aftermarket slave unit is fine with both types of fluid.

    • @akreutz
      @akreutz  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sidecarbod1441 Even if the oberon seal can take DOT. The magura master cylinder cannot. It will eat those seals. I strongly do not recomend using DOT in a system designed for mineral oil.

    • @sidecarbod1441
      @sidecarbod1441 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@akreutz Yeah, that's why I said "it depends on what master cylinder you have" the Brembo units use a DOT fluid therefore if you are using an Oberon slave with a Brembo MC you can use a DOT fluid.

    Never use liquid gasket with a paper gasket together, one or the other.
