Hello friends hopefully this helps out a couple of you, I know I've ruined a bunch of windshields trying different things. Its nice to have a product like this that works on ALL. Let me know what you think! Back in a day or so! cheers! 🍻🍗🧙♂️
This is literally a game changer. No more need to use urethane clear coat, which can be pretty rough on an airbrush. I never thought I'd see a water-based clear coat with that kind of shine.
Austin, the one thing I admire about you (besides your god given talent and sense of humor) is that you don't mind giving advice to newcomers and you certainly absorb advice from one who may not be as talented nor have the type of set up that you have. You are truly a credit to all of these wannabes (me) and all of those that may or may not have those assets. Great going man!!!!!!
I absolutely love the videos. I've bought some high dollar paints before and I must tell you the Createx pains are AWESOME. Let's see around your room there. Would like to see your booth setup. Keep it up . Excellent work.
Thx for the heads up D-Res. I’ll hafta give it a try on the sweet 16 series I’m restoring. I have a good system that produces excellent results but it’s like a 4 step process and uses 3 different products plus the soapy water and it takes way more time than this new way you found!
HAHAHA you reminded me of those old commercials! "are you saying this will cut everything?!" "Of Course! the Ginsu can can cut a can! Then watch me cut this tomato!" hahaha
I like the finish it had on the car. And quick air drying. I've been lucky with a combo of Dawn dish soap and rubbing alcohol on cleaning up older diecast windows
Great video. I love the UVLS high gloss. Just be careful with the candy system. I usually do a few coats of the UVLS gloss before switching to high gloss to stop bleeding.
Been using 4050 for a while now. Another big plus is the low fumes. It allows my to spray indoors without outside ventilation so I can still work during the winter. I'm a big fan of createx products 👍
You can use this on mirror polished die cast aswell. I used it as primer, mixed with candy and final clear. Got that mirror candy look 🔥🔥 try it for a video 👍
This is AWESOME!!!! IF needed when you use it as a clear coat on the diecast can you polish it or will it ruin it? Do you need to mix it? Also can it work over other ACRYLIC paints? Thanks
Amazing review on this product. I have two questions. 1) do you need to use this with an airbrush. 2) can you apply this over headlights or taillights without sanding to give it a reflective clear lens look? I have been trying to find a product to that idea.
Jimmy. Man i love watching your videos. You explain everything your doing. You make me laugh. Where can i send you cars? I have some stuff i would like to send you to say thanks.Mark
as a matter of fact it is. this is exactly how I restore them on original lens for old cars and new ones. better than new. just make sure use enough coats.
Great info Paul. I will try this. I'm trying to get some Redline Shop Spectraflame paint. I heard that Jon had surgery. Do you know if he is coming back online? Let me know if you know. Thx Dan
Hello @diecastresurrection, I know this video is a year old but I had a few questions. The UVLS seems to have done an amazing job on the body - did you continue to use it because I think on your channel you might still use 2K clears? I also noted you kind of free-handed the ratio, though the data sheet suggested a 20-25% reduction but I think it worked out better since we're painting smaller items? Do you know what your ratio might be closer to? Is it closer to 1:1 or still about 60 clear:40 reducer. The Data sheet also suggest letting it sit with the reducer for about 15 minutes but curious if you sprayed right after your own ratio mix since it seems it reduced the viscosity entirely? Did you let it sit for 15 minutes between coats? I do 1:24 scale but am looking to replace 2k and this looks like it came out great. Additionally, it seems that the high gloss uvls can also work great on clear parts? Future floor polish is no more so I was also looking to find a replacement for that as well. Have you continued to use the high gloss UVLS from createx?
Based on the consistency, isn't this just something generic like Varathane Ultimate Polyurathane? Have you tried that stuff? It might be a much cheaper alternative.
Hello in the comments. (You DID tell us to say that in the comments...) Anyway, any chance of seeing those station wagons in a future video? Don't know why but I can picture that blue one as a low rider.
Must be like the same stuff made by Minwax its also water-based polyurethane gloss? I brush it on after I do some handpainting to protect my work and it works great. You can find the stuff at Walmart even (also like to add it dries quickly the same way too)
There is no mix ratio, or correct PSI because everything is different. Some people use a 0.3, and up to a 0.5 needle. Some people use 18 to maybe 35 PSI, so the correct ratio would be different for everybody. you would have to experiment with whatever you're your setup is. Buy some plastic spoons..................................................
I am spooned out, I have mixed, I had raised, lowered PSI. I have watched a 1000 videos. I have tried every size needle, tip, mini touch up gun and CAN NOT get the 4053 to gloss at all. Future floor polish shines better. Was just looking for a general idea of what the video maker might have used is all.
Dude, got a link for this product, I've only found similar from this brand, Ultra-Violet Light Stabilizer Clear UVLS Gloss? Is that it, yours is high gloss but you didn't mention Stabilizer?
That whole Future floor polish nastiness has been in the model hobby far longer than it ever should have. It's a cheap unprofessional side step that produces exactly what you'd expect, cheap results with belief that it's a God send. 1k clears are cheap and will produce better results, of course anything with UV protection will prevent yellowing. This stuff creatix made is great for models and far less toxic for indoor use than 2k or higher clears with similar results, Of course real 2k+ clears will last longer in rough use but for models this creatix stuff should be perfect.
The whole nastiness of Future will be in the hobby for a long time as long as there is no product with such a high value. Professional, award winning modelers of all kind still use it. I’ve been looking for a future replacement and I will give UVLS a try, but future so far has been excellent and paying $40 for 16oz of something that does the same job doesn’t look attractive.
Is this whole line of paints and clears/bases water base polyurethane? Do you know if they have a flex agent? I could go find the answer on their website, but thought I'd ask you first so we can drag the subject out in front of the class, and we can all learn from your vast expertise and have way more fun picking your brain..... Which sounds like we're a bunch of Diecast Zombies. "Brains! Brains! Createx! Brains!" Can we have that as a shirt? Merch shirt, Diecast Resurrection Diecast Zombie team. More coffee, so yeah flex agent. Lexan has feelings too ya know.
@@DiecastResurrection wow thanks for the reply, you work is awesome! Got me doing customs! Giving the 4053 a try today rewatching this vid so thank you

Really awesome tip
Really enjoy your videos… this one will help a beginner like me!
Wow, that clear coat is good stuff
This is literally a game changer. No more need to use urethane clear coat, which can be pretty rough on an airbrush. I never thought I'd see a water-based clear coat with that kind of shine.
Cool video! I miss BareMetalHW's videos! This guy was a master 👌🏻
Hello in the comments!!! Love your channel!!
Mid-coat,t top-coat, carrier for candy, love it

That's exactly what I needed. Your booth is nice man. I'm using a cardboard box, but not for long!
Very cool. I haven't moved to airbrushing yet, but this will help when I do.
He Shoots! He Shines! He Scores! Diecast Resurrection makes another aaaamazing breakthrough. Film at 11! :-)
looks amazzzing ... that has a real nice gloss
THAT was AMAZING!!!
AND, YES!!! HOLY COW 🐮!!!
That works really well I was surprised at the outcome thanks for the info!
👍 for sponsors and algo.
Would really love a RatRod build. Something with the rustic faded paint.
I like the results with the new clear coat

It looks great! How is the durability compared to the traditional urethane clear coat for the car bodies?
Thanks, going to have to grab a bottle of this and use it on some die-cast robots.
Howdy Thanks for the tutorial as always and the helpful tips & trucks
Thanks for the information, great video

Great video. I love watching your videos and learning new things. Looks like I’ll will be switching to UVLS clear lol

Cool video 😎
It's like those Createx guys are good at making paint and paint accessories or something
That is f'n cool! OMG!
WOW! Looks amazing, what about cleaning your airbrush afterwards? Water/alcohol?
I've been just rinsing with homemade airbrush cleaner, maybe ill make a video on it!

That’s impressive, how durable is it tho?
Im sure its pretty good just as long as your not sending your cars sailing thru race tracks.
The price of uvls is off the chart when it comes to models!
If you are trying to buy on amazon yes, my local store sells little bottles fairly cheap.
Jimmy. Man i love watching your videos. You explain everything your doing. You make me laugh. Where can i send you cars? I have some stuff i would like to send you to say thanks.Mark
Can you dip the windshields with this stuff?
I'm wondering if that would be good on actual car headlights. You know when the plastic gets UV damage from the sun and goes cloudy
My thoughts exactly.
Hmm…
I too was thinking about that.
as a matter of fact it is. this is exactly how I restore them on original lens for old cars and new ones. better than new. just make sure use enough coats.
It would work but it won't last long. You'd want to use a 2K clear for automotive related things, so it can withstand the abuse and weather.
Does this product work on objects printed in 3D transparent resin?
Wonder if that would work great on UV damaged vehicle headlight lens?
For that I would use 2k urethane, it will be way more durable to rock chips and such. The UVLS would probably work though, just might not last long.
I was wondering the same thing?
Just sand and buff
So in racing car design they always say "add lightness", in your case, "add brightness" or maybe "add clearness"?
Great info Paul. I will try this. I'm trying to get some Redline Shop Spectraflame paint. I heard that Jon had surgery. Do you know if he is coming back online? Let me know if you know. Thx Dan
4053 is a great top coat for car's also...I have a video on it do one Austin. It's thinner than the 2k you use
Can this stuff be polished like the 2k stuff can?
They say it can, but I haven't tried it yet!
Cool video! Whatever happened to BaremetalHW? I haven't seen a video from him in a long while.

How does it do witjlh polishing after spraying. It looks kind of like the alclad aqua gloss.
Id like to talk to you about restoring some cars. If you dont do you recommend someone?
Does it have a u/v protectant in it?
Considering a polycarbonate headlight restoration with this.
Have you tried it on alclad chrome?
Hey! What about throwing a little candy black or color for a tinted window?
That would be worth doing in a video I think, I expect really good results! thanks!
hey austin
Is it waterproof after it dries?
Any chance it'll fill in cracks?
It won't, it's clear coat my dude
2:34 looks like a sample of... yeah i wont continue this sentence haha

Can it be applied with a brush ??
It will work for headlights?
Probably but that wouldn't be very durable, most people use 2k urethane on headlights.
Would this be ok to add a few drops of my coloured water based Tattoo ink to.. If so that would be the medium i'm looking for.
Could I use just 15% water instead of reducer or it will be wrong ?
Can't find high gloss version on Amazon

Might be a good call as opposed to promoting the dangerous isocyanate-based 2K clears, if you are not already using the NISO products.

Have you thought about using this instead of urethane clear, I just started the vid so you might answer my question In it🤣
Right after I commented you clear coated the car🤣 def might have to switch to this. The 2k always gives me hassle
I totally recommend it, while spraying only put on enough to get a smooth coating and then dry and repeat!
