I was a massive Kurt Cobain fan throughout his years in the public eye and even to this day. I agree wholeheartedly with everything you said. It's not OK to speculate and theorize over someone's identity if they can't speak for themselves (and considering he never at any point chose to express these ideas, despite the fact that he was a prolific writer). It's disrespectful, and frankly a bit of a wank.

Yeah it’s totally not okay to speculate over someone’s gender identity when they’ve never publicly stated about it. Kurt wore the dresses to piss off homophobes and transphobe I heard it in an interview somwhere.

I don't know if he was, but there was this band I heard about recently. They were a 90s grunge band called spoon and they were from Australia. A friend online told me the lead singer was transitioning around the same era. 94-95. Then they quit. Drugs, and this and that.

Interesting, I know Spoon the American band but hadn't heard of an Australian one. The two Trans musicians of the 90's/00's I can think of off the top of my head are the singer from K's Choice and Laura Jane Grace from Against Me!
