- Socorro shares his journey, highlighting his family's activism and legacy, being a street kid in Oakland, and being affirmed as a man and finding brotherhood in transmasculine community.
The Transgender District's Visual Storytelling Project aims to promote transgender people as experts to our own lives, our own narratives, and sharing our stories in ways that empower ourselves and to minimize sensationalizing our experience. It is our belief that we have to acknowledge the rich resilience and culture of transgender people and share our journeys in ways that highlight the lived experience, voice and expertise of transgender people- from transgender youth to transgender elders, in storytelling.
