Thanks for watching everyone! I hope you enjoyed it! Here’s a LOT of fun facts about this video: 1. This is the first REBOOT series I've done. The original episode of this was done back in 2019, before I rebranded to Press Start to Laugh and made the "What if Talked" videos my main type of content. Since I've now brought in extra voice actors to help fill in all the NPCs and such, I can do this series the way I wanted. Hence... reboot. 2. This will be a complete series, regardless of views. Most of the time I determine what will get a full series based on views and popularity. This will be the first time I'm doing the whole series regardless, simply because I believe Zelda will be a big franchise for this channel in the long run. 3. The first episode only has two voice actors, me (Brad - Link, King Hyrule, and the Shrine Monks) and Wibbles (the pedestal voice and goddess voice). Future episodes will have MANY MORE voice actors, it just so happened this episode didn't need many voices. 4. I was originally going to have this episode be around 1 hour long, but decided against it after doing some research. ~20-30 minutes is the ideal length. I planned for BOTW to be four episodes at an hour each, but instead this will likely be a very long series. A LOT will end up getting cut simply for time’s sake, but I’m going to try and leave as much in as I feel is necessary. 5. For NPCs like King Hyrule who in the actual game have a few actual voiced cutscenes, we stripped the voiceovers out and replaced them with our own. We attempted to voice match the already existing voice actors, but it wasn't perfect and was simply too jarring of a switch when it would go from our voices to theirs. We found we could do a good enough job just replacing their voice with our own take on the character. We did our best to keep close to the original voices though. 6. I tried several voices for Link. An alternate version of the first 10 minutes or so exists with a higher pitched voice for Link. After editing it for a bit, I went back and re-recorded him, as it simply didn't feel like it fit. This is still slightly higher pitched than my normal voice, but still has some deepness to it. 7. I tried to keep Link somewhat serious. He takes what's going on seriously, though is very confused. He'll still make jokes (this is a comedy channel after all), but he will be slightly more grounded. 8. During editing I attempted to work around Link’s existing grunts and gasps, but eventually just decided to work them into the character and let them be. 9. So far this is not connected in any way to my overall universe... unless... 10. Maidenless - Elden Ring reference (It could be debated that the adventures of Rykeon in Elden Ring and Skryim were just a dream that Link was having) 11. I added music throughout the video, as BOTW is actually very quiet as a game. I felt like adding music helped my version of this work a bit better. 12. Link is missing... Missing Link... PUNS! 13. I attempted to model my "King Hyrule" voice after the voice actor who did him in the game. His voice is surprisingly similar to my own, which made it a bit harder when trying to differentiate between Link and the King. 14. Link screaming during the towers rising from the ground scene is really the only joke from the original version of this video that made it to this one. 15. "A giant moon I can use to crush everything" - Majora's Mask reference 16. “Land in a cart full of hay” - Assassin’s Creed reference 17. "Might be a bird man" - More Zelda references to other Zelda races 18. "It's dangerous to go alone..." - Even more Zelda references 19. Link will generally be nice to people... except the Old Man... considering he jerks Link around for no reason really. 20. Teleporting hurts - Running gag 21. I did in fact die the first time I came across the guardians, simply because I forgot to get away fast enough. I decided to include it because I thought it was funny. 22. I had an extremely hard time with the controls on this game after playing Elden Ring (and other Souls games). Elden Ring and BOTW are very similar games and playstyles, yet extremely different control schemes. It made it difficult for me to adjust for quite some time. 23. "Boom" - Choo Choo Charles reference. 24. This will be the first time I’ve played all the way through BOTW. I’ve never beaten it.
I love how, unlike other protagonists on this channel, Link's not an a-hole. He's just a decent guy who's got no idea what's going on. He still tries to be the hero of legend, but he's gonna be screaming confusedly the whole time.
"It's dangerous to go alone, maybe you could give me a sword or something?" Considering that many consider King Rhoam's old man disguise to be a reference to the Old Man at the beginning of the very first Zelda on NES, that was a clever bit of dialogue.
Fantastic opening episode! The sound design was on point, from the echo in the shrines to the volume changes in the hilariously drawn out scream during the tower scene; and your voice for King Roham was very well done, it sounds very much like the original. Fun fact I learned recently: in Japanese, the quest log is written from Link's perspective like a journal, with occasional comments regarding certain characters or even just an "I can't wait to find out!" When talking about an objective. If they continue that in TotK, I hope the english translaters keep it this time.
I swear to all thing sentient that I will scream if Nintendo America screws up the translation again. I can understand if the main character has no personality at all. But to rewrite a major part of the story and game that’s just not right.
wow i didn’t even know that, that would be so cool if they had kept it for botw and i hope they keep it for totk. it will add a lot more personality. in botw i feel like the only real insight to links personality was from zelda’s diary in hyrule castle and maybe some of the memories.
I completely agree with you on that my friend. These people going the voice acting in a game would be absolutely amazing and hilarious. Even if it’s a game like Doom. They would only make it better.
How funny this comes out now, because I’ve been reading a story on AO3 where Zelda was the one who lost their memory and woke up in the Chamber of Resurrection. It’s actually very well-written, but I just found the timing of that and this coming out hilarious.
"I didn't come soaring down here on my own feathery wings, you know." "You might have. I don't know you. You might be a bird-man." Or an owl, or a dragon
Fi, "MASTER! YOU HAVE RETURNED!" "You were gonna kill me if I couldn't pull you out!" "You'd just get resurrected again or reincarnate again, like you have a million times before."
Little did Link know, there is a creature out there even Ganon regreeds giving live to it, and now it's to wild and... annoying to listen to anyone's commands other than itself. It is only known as Flowerblight-Ganon.
Funny how he finds climbing tiring, yet hanging in the sky on the glider which will need a lot of strength to hold onto isn't tiring or sore at all! No hate, im just joking around XD
Give it time :-P After enough times I'm sure he'll grow weary of having to hold on to that too. Either that or he'll develop some MAD upper body strength.
Here’s a tip if you’re having trouble with making food if you find a durian fruit and cook it by itself it gives you max heart with +4 and the +4 increases more Darien furit you add
8:50 How would Link even know that water would ruin electronic devices? Even before he went into a coma, ancient sheikah technology wasn't exactly common. It's like bringing an ipad to Medieval Europe, except with less witch burnings.
I am angry at the algorithm for never having found your channel before. Your work is phenomenal, keep up the good work (looking forward to more - and I can't wait for when you get to the first divine beast and the whole story schtick with the Zoras).
I hope you will do a Tears of the Kingdom version as well. Most likely after you have had a good rest after doing this series and any others you have going. Love all your work.
I know this is something difficult to do, but it would help a lot for the videos if you manage to modify the sound of your voice depending on where the camera is, as it feels a little... detached... when I hear your voice perfectly clear when the camera is far from Link. With first-person games that's not an issue as the voice is always in the same position as the camera, but on third-person games hearing your voice always perfectly clear when the camera is away from the character makes the voice feel a bit more like a player role-playing while gaming instead of the character speaking. Again, I know that would be hard to do, and your videos already have a lot of effort put into them as they are, so they are already great, plus I see do that a bit on cutscenes sometimes, but if you ever feel like trying to work on that some more, I think it would make you reach another level. Keep up the great work!
Wow. This is great. I would subscribe, but....I already am. I am VERY interested to see how this Link handles TOTK. Let's face it, for anyone that fears heights, TOTK would be a NIGHTMARE.
"Woah that is really really big. Are you expecting me to fight that thing? If so I'm going to need something bigger than a stick to defeat that. Preferably a balista, or like a giant moon to crush everything." 😂 Nice Majora's Mask reference.
I hope that there will be a continuation of this in tears of the kingdom as well when this series is completed also have an awesome day! I also love the additional voices lol also I only have one request and that is to at least have the bokoblin or some of the monsters (not talus or guardians) have a few voice lines pls?
It used to be the Quadforce, but the forth god took his piece and left. Many say he went on a great crusade against the forces of darkness. Others say he was hungry.

Made me laugh like you guys normally do and i love it! Keep it up please! Oh side thought Wo Long Fallen Dynasty would be another good game to voice over at least in my opinion.
19:32 Fun fact. Spicy food doesn't actually keep you warm. Capsaicin, the compound that makes spicy things spicy, interacts with your nerves in a way that makes it feel hot, even if it's not at all. It can make you sweat without actually adding any real heat, therefore actually making you colder. Realistically, eating a spicy meal before climbing a snowy mountain will just make things worse and make you colder. If you look at where spicy foods are most popular, you'll see that they're countries along the equator. Mexico, Spain, Cajun cooking in Louisiana, India, China, Thailand. These are regions with warmer climates. So why do they eat stuff that makes them feel hotter? One theory is that since spicy foods register as hot, it makes the body sweat without actually heating up, which actually cools you off more. In cold mountainous regions, sweating can actually result in hypothermia if left unchecked. Therefore, this would actually cause Link to freeze quicker. So what should Link be eating instead? A "hearty" meal. One with lots of calories with fiber and protein, perhaps a stew made with the meat and vegies he finds along the way. Doesn't seem like Hyrule has too many potatoes in Breath of The Wild though so that would make it more difficult and Link doesn't seem to be able to make stews or soups in those wok-like pans, but a meat and mushroom skewer could be helpful.

You mad lad. you've done it.
cant wait for the maybe ten+ hours of what if link talked in BotW complete saga
You know, with the way Link was acting towards the stone talus awakening, it reminded me of Arthur's scaredy-cat personality
8:11 still kept that part I see. Lol
Link can make stews and soup
@@TwinDagger Oh you're right I forgot about a few dishes
My head cannon is since link swore a vow of silence were just constantly hearing his inner monologue since he can’t actually speak
