I miss the dialogue exchanges that you had in the older mainline titles. Wish they'd bring that back. Creating a narrative back and forth with your opponent made the boss fights so much more epic.
Can we take a moment to appreciate the timing between the more calm parts of the song that go with the dialogue, only to pick up when the fight starts once again?
This game is so great. I started with Nocturne, then SJ, and eventually tried out SMT 1. IV definitely seems to bring the best of all three games. This is the first RPG to really hook me in in quite a while

Urgh I didn't know he was weak to bufu at all.... I beat him by spamming buffs all around my team and then eating his charged up labry's attack and criticals...(must have been on the verge of death thanks to lucky criticals to him) but a tank team doesn't seem as fun as this... I must be a masochist
i would say Medusa is a bit harder, but at the same time when you fight her, you pretty much already have learned about equipment and weaknesses, also saving Timothy mission reward gives you a null Bind ring, which is a pretty big help. And if you are doing a Dx build, hope you have media and buff skills, cuz u wont be able to do much in that fight lol.
Love this fight. It's like 50 times more intense than any fight before it and that music jams. Also it's the first time I noticed piss poor game design when it gives me Walter who immediately starts unloading Agi on him and he just blocks him. Like seriously bro fuck outta here I got it

@youneedheadphones Yes it does indeed give you a negative effect if you pick the other answer. The game gives you dialouge options for every major boss I think.

i think, somehow, everyone gets walter the first time. And then you get pooped on and decide maybe bufu is a good thing to have.
Got Isabeau, still died. went grinding, got Walter, died. Tried again with Isabeau, managed to kill him.
He got a Crit wave on the minotaur and killed him.. I was the last alive with 46hp as well.. I love Walter.

I kept getting walter at one point and got frustrated since he would always make mino smirk with first turn agi.
bro i had NO IDEA the dialogue gave buffs + debuffs, i wanted to be an edgy silent boy so i ignored him both times (◞‸◟)
In the first mid-battle conversation, the top choice is a stat decrease for you. the second one and middle choice gives Minotaur a stat increase.
