Also, very interesting how YHVH's demonic form is so similar to Satan, up to even being a seven headed beast; to hint at how his ego is so big he himself brings the Armageddon as a self-indulging means of entertainment, which is mentioned in the game as well.
It's even better when you realize that the form is also based upon the Plagues of Egypt. One of his attacks is also "Planned Chaos." His demonized state literally portrays him as the cause of Armageddon and a plague that causes humanity endless suffering. It's one of the most amazing portrayals of God in media
@@MrYTPfan123 "Amazing" doesn't necessarily mean accurate, it just means something that causes awe. I'm in awe at how well-designed it is. But besides his physical appearance (Which very much is inaccurate), his portrayal is like 95% accurate to Old Testament YHVH, seeing as he was pretty psychopathic in it. Hell, even the fact that Lucifer and all demons of chaos are just Patsies of YHVH to make him look good is a very logical conclusion to make of a supposedly omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent God. Also, God is in fact portrayed as the architect of Armageddon, even in Revelation. The Horsemen of the Apocalypse were apparently released by God to have authority over the world, and each of the trumpets that sound (Which cause various calamities) are from God"s Angels. No one points this out usually because it makes God look like an ass who delights in suffering. There's a reason why interpreting Revelation literally is something only fundamentalists do.
@@travisoliver6741 While I never got a bad impression of Him even in the Old Testament, I agree that His punishments there are very severe. I don't get why fundamentalists give it so much power and take it literally, but Christians in the west like the idea of an upcoming apocalypse. 2 years later, but basically the reason is, when demons and YHVH say His true name, on the screen as text it’s displayed as YHVH but it’s incomprehensible to humans, the humans in smt only say YHVH as in the actual sounds of the letters, because they can’t comprehend the true sound of His name.

Just like any god in this setting, it was human understanding of the world that created this cosmic lump of ego dubbed "YHVH". This understanding was flawed, resulting in an equally-flawed "Creator" made up of self-glorification. Why the "Great Will" that YHVH is meant to be an avatar of would design the world in this way will likely always be a mystery. Perhaps the Great Will itself is just as flawed as the world is. Perhaps the world's existence just isn't possible without these flaws. But now we see people, who have experienced and acknowledged the flaws in the world and in themselves, use that new understanding to negate YHVH's alleged supremacy and self-justification, exposing it as not inherently different from any other god that was reduced to a "demon". Human understanding of the world improves; the flaws of the world can now be more acknowledged and continuously dealt with. This may prove a never-ending struggle, but it may perhaps allow all those products of understanding, those "gods", to be reiterated for the better... maybe even YHVH himself.

One of his attacks is also "Planned Chaos."
His demonized state literally portrays him as the cause of Armageddon and a plague that causes humanity endless suffering. It's one of the most amazing portrayals of God in media
@@travisoliver6741 I wouldn't it call it amazing since it's not accurate, but it's interesting
Revelation (no s at the end) is largely hidden messages in the form of apocalyptic imagery. It's mainly about the oppression of the Jews under the Roman Empire. I don't get why fundamentalists give it so much power and take it literally, but Christians in the west like the idea of an upcoming apocalypse. @@irsshill4502 If I were to believe in you, I wouldn't be following my heart, we'd be following the voice in my head! I choose to follow my heart and decide for myself what is right! I'm sick and tired of blindly obeying everyone! I'm making my *own* decision for once!
I noticed that during the fight on YHVH's second half, you barely healed during the fight. Is there a reason to that? Does YHVH also heal when you heal yourself? The second team got obliterated and the first team there was never a use of mediarahan.
I’m guessing because Asahi was there with her OP Mediarama skill
Yes, Asahi carries with her trait-boosted Mediarama, so A-Team doesn't need to use healing skills often, if at all.
Due to Asahi awakened power, she become the most valuable healing asset
Can somebody explain to my why out of all of the characters, Navarre has the most convincing denial of YHVH???
being a luxorer it's likely that he was exposed to religion like jonathan yet was essentially driven to insanity by the angels and demons in smtiv. he knows how corrupt they are because he had to experience it before any of the others even set out on their journey, and he likely felt betrayed after finding out how terrible angels (and yhvh, by extension) really were.
I prefer his brother's version
can somebody explain to me why ANY of the denials are convincing?
@@lezzei what are you TALKING about? Navarre was an arrogant asshat who tried to get his comrades killed because they weren't Luxurors like him! he was driven mad after his plans fell apart and he was called out for it! God and the angels had literally nothing to do with any of that! if anything, the protagonist is to blame for making Mikado a class-based society in the first place.
@@christopherbravo1813 ehhh, he was pissed off from that but you can tell from his experience in naraku and ESPECIALLY in the quest where you have to locate him (i forget what it's called but it's the one where he's all disheveled and fucked up looking) that his insanity stemmed from a firsthand witness to demons and/or angels
This may prove a never-ending struggle, but it may perhaps allow all those products of understanding, those "gods", to be reiterated for the better... maybe even YHVH himself.
it'd be nice if all of the gods weren't saturday morning cartoon villains.
@@christopherbravo1813 Nah, just Yahweh.
@@DarkAdonisVyers nah, all of them.
@@christopherbravo1813 I wouldn't classify Krishna as such. As he states, his motive lies in contempt against YHVH due to losing his own divinity. He, along with many other members of the Divine Powers, felt like they must break the chains that bind humans to YHVH, while also returning to the abstract concepts they themselves represented

It's not a jrpg if you don't kill god
So Mr. Clean is the god of SMT?
I've known about the 7 trumpets sounding off to start the final theme song but I just realized that he also has 7 heads in total lol
mostly everyone’s cry when they attack: *fierce*
Jonathan: *sounds disgusted when he attacks*

Imagine if the first time you played this fight, and you see that YHVH has infinite press turns and you're just sitting there crying because you're not even allowed one press turn.
Pretty funny, that music playing before battle, is rearranged SMT II final boss theme. And also, i found quite fun, that YHWH even can forgive you if you turn back. It's means, that he feared Nanashi
I find it quite funny that you said the exact same thing as someone else.
it means that you lack independent thought.

Inevitably so.

YHVH: "What?"

Also, can I just say that I LOVE Navarre's and Gaston's denials? I mean, they were both Samurai, they were loyal to the imbecile until they saw the other side of the road... In Navarre's case, he learned the hard way that even those loyal to him didn't go to their promised 'Heaven', and Gaston learned it by seeing how the priests and Angels truly treated the people of Tokyo.
except Navarre wasn't faithful at all, and the angels were completely justified.
