Good advice. I'd like to add: learn to let go of the question that you want to ask next. Sometimes, holding onto that future question can keep you from listening properly to the answer being given to the previous one. Deciding to ask it anyways can lead to a discussion that sounds very forced and unnatural to the listener, and can make your interlocutor feel like he's not listened to and that you're not getting it. I'm working on it, but it's easier said than done for sure!
I’ve heard Tim say this a long time ago but the penny never dropped until now. In fact I realised it for myself, THEN remembered that Tim said it. Its that first line that’s so underestimated. It’s the questions you ask YOURSELF, that matters. eg: Simply “How are ways I could realistically make a bit more money right now” or “How are ways I could realistically save more money right now” or “Is this relationship actually good for me”. Tim has also in the past recommended Journaling. Asking yourself simple questions and writing them down is KEY. And finally, he’s ALSO said (Trying not to sound too fanboi here) in the past, or maybe its taken from a quote that, “Wisdom is listening to yourself”. Deep down we know the answers, it take writing them down to really see the answer.
Advices from Tim Ferris. 1) don't ask broad, general question. 2) don't ask questions that are answered elsewhere. 3) ask good questions not bad questions
I appreciate that online that we are able to connect to others on a daily basis all over the globe. This allows us to Share information @ such a high rate, and Tim gives great examples all while making a living from it. LOL
I like how this encourages more specifics in questioning. Delving into someone's emotional pulses is also a good way to ask better questions. Random note: For some reason I feel like this is the evil alternate universe Tim a la Star Trek's Mirror, Mirror episode.
Huge fan of the podcast and must say I really love these short bite-size segments. Sometimes jumping into a 2 hour+ podcast on a foreign subject can be a bit intimidating. Thanks for all of the content that you put out (and it's a freaking lot of content at that). Would love if there could be "highlights" or some preface available on newly released, longer podcasts (similar to what tools of titans is). Best wishes with the new launch, and I will be picking up an audio book since I no read good. - Bb
I'm seeing the push to TH-cam Tim and I like it. I've noticed you've started upping the video quality. As a viewer, I would recommend focusing on your delivery - adding visual aid and enhancing your delivery. A visual aid can be something as simple as providing examples from podcasts of good questions (ie. evidence). Utilizing editing to smoothen your delivery, or even changing your tone (ie. Philip DeFranco does this good). Or simply some more visuals to make the lesson easily digestible (ie. Add text/subtitles to enhance the tips)
I know you're a self-proclaimed introvert, and these editing tips can leverage that disadvantage to a huge win. For reference, use Gary Vee for delivery tips and Casey for editing.
Hmm I see nothing wrong with the current method he’s using while expressing the topic. I dislike Philip Defrancos presentation style. Too much cutting.
Hey Tim, one suggestion because its a common theme throughout my friend circle - we love audiobooks! We find audiobooks a more efficient and enjoyable means of plowing through content during commute times when normally you would be checking e-mail or listening to music etc. Please, for the love of God, make this into an audiobook! Also, I'll reward you extra badass points if you use your own voice :)
Tim! I love this video! I was wondering... what is one intriguing, brief, and somewhat specific question that you can ask someone to get a picture about who they are? I am asking because I am trying to think of an idea for an autobiographical essay, so this would be a little different than the types of questions you were talking about in your video. I have some ideas (e.g., what was one of the best days of your life?), but you are the master of questions so I thought I'd pick your brain if I could!
Hi .. great video. one fundamental doubt. do you prefer sending the questions in advance to the person you are interviewing? Pros : this helps them in having a refined answer and not come back later saying, oh I had a better answer for it. Cons : if it is a question about them as a human, then they can 'manufacture' the answer to suit their image and persona. Please advise. Thanks.
Feedback for future videos: If you’re using multiple camera angles, make the footage is color corrected between both. The side angle in this video doesn’t match the color temperature or contract of the primary video angle.

I don't know if Tim talks about this in other video/podcast (if thats the case sauce please), but i just want to know after seen this one. What's being successful for him? (In less than ten words of course) Thanks :^)
Is there any psychological/social advantages of having a beard to not having one? Is this a pattern that people see and apply or nothing other personal choice/self image?
The b camera isn't doing it for me. It looks like you are trying too hard. Use it when you need a different composition, like if you pick up something or point to something.
In the very beginning of Episode 271 of Ask Gary Vee podcast, he mentions fasting. He just got back from a 10 day silent retreat and he fasted for 5 of the days
Tim the subjects you bring up in are useful but you speak too softly and my brain get lost hearing your answers. Could you consider adding bulletpoints or something ?
How can a person, who is unemployed, have no funds? They only have a phone, a computer and barely know english can make money enough instantly in 3 days without scamming the customer with minimum entry requirement. Think of at least 10 solutions. Because i afraid i am gonna eat my dog. Your new quest awaits

Very good point ! Thank you for that
amazing point
This is so true!

I respect Tim because he took the addage " those that cannot be master's, teach" and actually became a master teacher.
As a podcaster, this is hugely valuable! Recording an episode this week and putting your points to use immediately. Thanks as always, Tim!

Biggest takeaway for me was: Study great interviewers like Tim, Oprah, Tom Bilyeu, Lewis Howes,Joe Rogan, Larry King, etc.
This sounds interesting. I will give it a go. Thanks.
I would add Sean Evans
Oprah is full of ego , butts in and is generally a rude interviewer. Which is a damn as she is the only woman on this list
Ask not what they think but what they have done. Action speaks louder than words.
If I can learn from others then I will be better off.
Thank you for these tips. 😊
Seek first to understand, then to be understood!
Would be nice to have Tim interact with fans that comment... or at least automate that ;) Love you Tim!
I get the feeling he gets overwhelmed easily. And just made a decision not to because he gets so many, and focuses his time elsewhere.
Your voice is very calming to me

thank you so so much! there would be so many questions that I would have to you:-) your one of my biggest rolemodels!

agreed, not everything has to be the jump cut fast editting - there is a place for long form content
Pretty sure Tim has the worlds best at his disposal and he definitely has advisors on this, soooo...
Tim Ferris slowly becoming Keith Jardine
Thank you so much!!!!
Tim Ferris, one of the shorter video's on tgis subject and straight to the point ligical advice. Thanks.

Great points. Better questions=better life!
Not sure that I agree at all about this one, but I like your other work.

Hahahahahaha Mr white the intellectual version

Listen to as many interviews as possible and write down questions that stick out.
I'm very curious about that asymetric goatee
Is there any psychological/social advantages of having a beard to not having one? Is this a pattern that people see and apply or nothing other personal choice/self image?
To the point👍👌
Good stuff Tim! Rock on! 555 ;)
what is that intro song?
I say that the quality of the answers depends on the quality of the questions.
Make sure the person can formulate the answer quicky
Ecalate progressively
Don't ask google-able questions
Stop talking start listening
Thanks, feel a little more comfortable punching above my weight.

I have notice you lost some weight and muscle mass. Are you on a new diet if so what is it?

Cool video, I'm actually working on a platform that will help people find and ask better questions.
I hope you get it up and running
What woudl you put on a Billboard is much more complicated question than favorite book, no?
These videos are great, glad you're on youtube. Keep it coming
Came from quora
Why am I reading these comments. People giving advice to Tim >_
I know. It's ridiculous and some of these people have way too much time on their hands.
You remind me of Kane from C and C, repeat after me “in the name of kane, Kane lives in death”
How is Jimmy Fallon the first person he thought of?
❤
He read Sartre when he was 12.
Be more interested,
Than interesting...
- David Meltzer
Best question: why should I follow you?
No. Just be fucking truly curious.
Don't ask questions that can find on Google. Not any questions left lolz ☯️
Please call Elon Musk on the Tim Ferriss Show.

Tim the subjects you bring up in are useful but you speak too softly and my brain get lost hearing your answers.
Could you consider adding bulletpoints or something ?
Tim buddy you love you but please get someone to improve your lighting and videos editing! Great intro though
Well I've got a question. Who the heck idolizes Jimmy Fallon(?)
Tools of Titans just didn't work. Had you grouped the advice by topic rather than by Titan, it would have worked better.
Don't bother watching... he's selling a book.
Lol what’s that gotta do with anything?
You notice when Trump is talking to someone, he completely listens to them and looks at them. He's always thinking. A master at his craft.
555
shiny :-)
lol someone doesn't know how to color correct you're all red in one shot and totally pale in the other
Lose the goatee, you look like you play drums in a metal band.
Also, did he shave his head or did he go bald?
thsu8
both, i guess
It's perfectly fine! Successful people know better than to judge one by their appearance.
i’m confident we’ll see tim playing drums in a metal band soon
Or you could just continue to do whatever you want as is your body
