I really love my bulb auger for sneaking lots of bulbs into the landscape, also excellent for garlic, but planting in trenches with a shovel is so effective!

When I worked at McDonald’s 20+ years ago, whenever a sandwich called for multiple pickle slices, they told us (regarding their placement) that they should be “Friends not Lovers”. 😂 I still think about that and you reminded me again, thank you. ❤😊

Same thing they told me in 2007-2012 when I was working there in 8th grade until I graduated 😂

Hi, Serina! I really like your videos about bulbous.I live in Crimea. Every autumn I plant hundreds of tulip bulbs, daffodils. It's hard work, of course, but in the spring they delight me with their blooming. "Gardening it"s not rocket science" is my favorite principle!)) I love experimenting with plants.

My daffodils pulled themselves down deep over the years, and each single daffodil turned into a giant crowded mess of bulbs. You can tell when they produce a lot of leaves but few blooms. Between roots and clay soil, its a lot of work to thin the beds out.

Thank you for sharing! I have clay soil and have been amending for 4 years, but it’s tricky to dig down far enough for daffodils. Glad to hear they pull themselves down.

I am so excited to see all of your plants and bulbs, and trees in the spring, and throughout the whole next growing season!! It is going to be so beautiful!! Thank you for a very good explanation of how to get those bulbs in! And to hear that you can keep on planting as long as you can work the soil, is great news!! I still don’t have my fall planted bulbs in…. and we just got 6” of snow. However, it’s melting quickly so there is hope 😂

If ypu plant in a cardboard box, consider wrapping the box in a couple of widths of clear packing tape. The packing tape survives while the box looses its structure. It even works for planting lettuces and radishes tnrough a season.

Do consider starting chive from seed, 'ya cant afford it elsewise, and plantimg them to naturalize at the base of fruit trees and roses. Thier roots don't tend to compete with the rootsmof roses hor fruit trees. Allowed to grow compactly, they out compete most weeds and even blacknerries to a degree. Thier roots tend to allow the soil to become more friable. And, a lot of pests temd to be detered by them. - Ideally, you want to plant established clumps of them amd depending upon how much watering you're willing to do, you can plant clumps multiple months of the year.

For the bulbs in a crate or a pot, won't the freezing cold winter temperatures kill the bulbs? I live in New Hampshire USA and that's one thing I always worry about, so I put my pots with bulbs in my unheated garage that doesn't freeze.
