Outdoor Layne yeah, I’m sure you own a s4 and a golf r. The way you talk shows you know very little about cars since you have no experience with either. EJ’s are NOTORIOUS for burning oil. It better be. Because if it has mods and it breaks some of these dealerships won't honor the warranty. I just put a cat back on and left it at that. Still blew an exhaust pressure valve and my computer. But the dealership repaired it.

You have to keep it over 3k rpm to get any power out of it. Everything has 300 hp these days, even a V6 Camry. Insurance is absolutely ridiculous considering its relatively low numbers. But it's one of the most ticketed vehicles in the US.
You completely lost me when you said that in cruise control, if you put it in sport mode, it revs higher, but stays the same speed.....how sway?......HOW? Its a manual car lol
lol more responsive yes.....it cant increase the rpms.....in an auto car it does this y allowing you to rev higher before changing gears. if youre going 55 in a manual in 5th gear at 3500 rpm...switching it to sport mode literally cant do anything to the rpms...its impossible
-____- do you guys understand how cars work....sport mode in automatics increases revs before shift points....in manual car, RPMs aren't variable. Sure sport mode can make your throttle more responsive but it CANT MAKE YOUR RPMS GO HIGHER.....you all must not have ever driven a manual
Emilio Martinez haha you think a wrx has lots of rev hang? Try driving a stock Impreza. Literally Have to wait a whole second or two before releasing the clutch or it will lurch

Lifeless HD if you want no practical I drive a Z34 lol yeah no back seats unlike the frs does haha.
This is why I'd NEVER buy a used STI....WOT every stop jeeezuz (Jeremy Clarkson voice)
I own one, that wasn't WOT on most of those pulls.
@@ZakTheRipper18 be that ass it may, damn it seems abusive lol
wanted to ask how do u downshift , it looks so smooth lol, do yu press clutch , rev, then go into lower gear then let clutch go OR do yu press clutch , go into lower gear then REV b4 slowly letting clutch go? if my question makes sense lol
The first one.
i noticed if u floored it car doesnt like it but if u play on that gas pedal and get the hang of it….it rev high and u can feel every push of it.
the 2.4 in this car is going to be amazing!
Lol I remember my first time with my Wrx, loved pulling on her. Now I enjoy the ride so much more not as tempted to floor it all the time
It better be. Because if it has mods and it breaks some of these dealerships won't honor the warranty. I just put a cat back on and left it at that. Still blew an exhaust pressure valve and my computer. But the dealership repaired it.
Recently got a 2020 sti magnetic grey back in December last year, and I love driving it, was too quiet from factory so I went with a remark non resonated catback and it sounds perfect 🤟🤙
Look at an anti lift anti dip kit and an oil separator to protect your engine from oil starvation in the twists
So what happen at 4:30 in the video? I suspect something happen there
@Jeremy Smith lol
2004 STI, Bone stock, always fun to drive. Could do without the smell of fuel on cold mornings though when starting.
Oh my god yes. I live in New England where it’s below freezing in the winter and snows, and prior to my 04 sti, I had a 02 and 04 wrx, and every winter cold start they just smelled like raw fuel, not even just exhaust fumes. I have yet to own my 04 sti through winter yet, so we’ll see if it smells like gas too
Good video, love the enthusiasm, the car sounds awesome. I only have a cat back...I am enjoying the car stock
4:30 had me rollin’
You have to keep it over 3k rpm to get any power out of it. Everything has 300 hp these days, even a V6 Camry. Insurance is absolutely ridiculous considering its relatively low numbers. But it's one of the most ticketed vehicles in the US.
Can’t wait getting this in 5 days🙏🏽✊🏽♥️
My fiancé has a 2019 WRX and I wished that I wanted one too for Christmas so I hope he takes it into consideration!! 😭😭
Did he get it for you?
love that subaru sound. Mazdaspeed 6 owner here.
Zoom zoom
Who cares loll
I own a 17 sti and I love it, good gas mileage option, yet loads of fun. It's a wonderful car
What's your insurance on it? because it is a sport. I just test drove one and I'm probably gonna get it next week
@@maddhatter8485 how's ur sti,what are your thoughts
@@maddhatter8485 How is it?
@@followerofgod6558 Assuming they didn't get it. Last video they uploaded was 2 years ago and it was of a game.
The sound of this beauty!
Almost bought a 2017 wrx sti but I passed on it. Going to keep editing until I find a great deal.
Wish I would have taken the stock exhaust off like you did when i first got it the stock sti is horrible
Weird I’m getting a 2020 sti and thinking about a speed3 for a daily. So weird
Gotta love the subi sound track.
I’ve been thinking of getting one. Do you recommend for a dad car? Haha
3 kids here and I’m picking up a ‘17 on Friday 🤘🏻
Can we just think about the fact that he said boxer motors are sideways for a moment.
No I think he was talking about the turbo set up being sideways.
You completely lost me when you said that in cruise control, if you put it in sport mode, it revs higher, but stays the same speed.....how sway?......HOW? Its a manual car lol
Aaron Brooks it is true the sport mode increases rpm it makes it more responsive my buddy owns 2016 sti
lol more responsive yes.....it cant increase the rpms.....in an auto car it does this y allowing you to rev higher before changing gears. if youre going 55 in a manual in 5th gear at 3500 rpm...switching it to sport mode literally cant do anything to the rpms...its impossible
Aaron Brooks well it does cause I have seen it
Aaron Brooks that's the stupidest reasoning I've ever heard
-____- do you guys understand how cars work....sport mode in automatics increases revs before shift points....in manual car, RPMs aren't variable. Sure sport mode can make your throttle more responsive but it CANT MAKE YOUR RPMS GO HIGHER.....you all must not have ever driven a manual
If you like launching yes.... but sucks on highway runs and it will burn
That wide open air tunnel sound? I’m pretty sure you’re talking about the wastegate
Not sure if you know this but there is a sound tube coming into the cabin through the fire wall
I like how this guy gets more ‘n more exited the more he drives it the more excited he gets ahhh
just Curious you still have this STI .......I've heard that one shouldn't buy a 2015 STI is that something true?
What kind of exhaust do you have on it? It sounds great!
I currently have a 2018 WRX idk if it’s worth upgrading to a 2020 sti right now.
9:00 that’s what you call power sliding mah dude 👌
Aros it’s not called anything, it’s just loosing traction, call it what you want
With just the COBB accessport stage 2 and a downpipe this car comes alive.
I’m not joking, I think this is my neighbor he’s got the same car, same color, same mods, he even looks the same, and he lives in the same city lol
I’d say it is haha it’s my first turbo - 2015 Sti owner. Bone stock
I am well aware of how horizontally opposed flat engines work .....but smooth is hardly what I would call the 2.5L VJ or 2.0 engines.
love the low rpm sound
Dude your first to second shift is money, I can’t do it for the life of me in a WRX. Maybe it’s easier in the STI
Brett McMillen That's because the WRX has a ton of rev-hang. The STI does not.
*Double clutch.*
Emilio Martinez haha you think a wrx has lots of rev hang? Try driving a stock Impreza. Literally Have to wait a whole second or two before releasing the clutch or it will lurch
Lol! I completely agree.
Damn I love the exhaust 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😎
your shifts are so clean! wish i could shift like that..
I felt the same way when I test drove a speed 6. Couldn’t hear the motor
i could listen to that sound all day !!!
I was trying to decide whether to buy a 2017 sti or not but all the videos weren’t helpful! I ended up buying it anyways !
Finally a video where you launch it and actually let me hear it and you talk about the important basics and how it’ll be better with a cat back and good useful information not just yapping and yapping it all away talking about well the seats are this the steering wheel looks nice.. the blah blah nah. You got to it thank you!! Even though I already bought it lol 💕😂
Of course this guy would have friends called 'Trevor and Jeremy' lmaooo
I bought a 2013 sti but regret it a bit because the interior in the 2015+ is so much better
But yours looks better
Act Nasty from the interior or exterior?
That exhaust was NOT stock...
yes it was
Ur both dumb it's open downpipe he literally says it braindeads
Can u guys be honest do you hear the turbos when it’s stock ?
Honestly mainly in sport sharp is the only time I hear it
Yes they are but a straight pipe cat back exhaust will multiply that experience ten fold lol
What exhaust are you using?
0:33 Why did you turn off Camila?
Stock?? I dont remember that stock exhaust that loud 😅
Working 2 jobs just so I can get this car
with tones of harness tonnes and lots of harness ( vice versa ).
Is that exhaust system stock as i hear it in the video ?
No, in this video he took off the cat-back I believe. But I know it’s not stock.
What modifications did you do to your car because i want my subaru to sound like that ahha
Junior Ruelas1146 no u dont he took the cat off thats a recipe for boost leaks and exhaust leaks, this guy abuses his subie please dont do what he does
This is the best STI “review” video
Focus rs is less popular than a wrx sti down under . So the extra 45 hp on a focus rs isn't getting people to buy it
This video makes me want to get myself another subie... sold my rex hatch and 06 sti hawkeye
Just got one just wondering what exhaust system I should get for this car that is the best in your opinion
CAN U SHARE SOME INFO ABOUT MAINTENANCE FEES PLEASE :( I LIKE IT BUT U KNOW...
The sound bro sick
I want one so bad but the maintenance is what worries me
