I’m behind the eight ball two this year because for the first time I got Covid in January and now have pneumonia. So, I hope everything works out this year for me in the garden!
Garden is looking nice! March 22nd is the day I can direct sow my cold weather plants, yay! I am going to start growing indoor my other plants and get them ready for the warmer weather! I am looking this fall to buy some property and I want to try a food forest by taking one area and planting as much as I can and trim the helper plants to help feed the crops! And spending less and doing the most is always a fun challenge! I am making my own compost out of food scraps and you can also use your plant scraps as compost too!
Ooooh the wind! It's keeping us indoors when we want to be working on the garden. We live on a hill. Sigh! Right now I am living vicariously through you. Lol!
Love your videos! Don’t mind the wind on your videos as I also dealing with wind here in Arrid west Texas! We get wind 350 days out of the 365 days a year! Ha! Ha!
I like the hat ..trendy, yes my seedlings are slowly germinating, not as pretty as yours lol but I’m growing my seedlings in a shed that still gets a little cold at night sooo. I like the vid meg😊
Loving your videos. It’s helping me in the California Desert to figure out what can handle the heat. Did you do a video on your drip system? It looks like you love it and it works well for you. We had a system that did not work at all. It came blasting out of the first holes and then didn’t even make it to the middle of the tubing. 😑
Hey there yes I did do a video! But it's not really in depth...my mom helped me install it. It sounds like you may need a pressure regulator at the end of your hose before it goes to the drip system tubing. th-cam.com/video/f1DM3EZcMnM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=D3eZLi6D9LgA51_5
Sierra Vista Growers in La Union has a bulk topsoil/compost mix and straight compost for reasonable prices if you can haul it (they don't deliver).. I've been looking everywhere for good soil to fill my new raised beds with and they are the only ones i found.. too expensive for me to buy the bagged soils.
I just went there the other day! Haha yah i have used their compost before. It's a mixture of composted horse manure and plant matter. Good stuff. But I've noticed it tends to be a bit hydrophobic but I completely forgot about that option. Thanks for the reminder!
Hi, I been. Having small cabbage too, hey like you say they still food 😅, question what do you do with aphids? My cabbages, and brassicas get so many 😢by the way the celery you can leave it there it will go to flower and reseed and it will be nice to harvest 😊
Yah I'm definitely gonna leave the celery and hope I get at least one stalk from it haha. Honestly the only thing I do with aphids is spray down my plants with water. I try not to use organic pesticides, and aphids are ways enough to remove with a spray nozzle.
