Jennifer Aaker studies happiness, and how stories can affect our happiness; she believes that stories are more meaningful -- more memorable, more impactful, and more personal--than statistics alone.
When used with statistical data, stories are an incredible persuasive tool that can help us as humans decide what to believe in a world that is otherwise incredibly over-saturated with information.
A Future of StoryTelling Film. Produced by Melcher Media and Banana Bird, animated by Evan Seitz

This is the best animation I've seen on why story is so powerful. Extremely well done and a great example of how to tell a story incredibly well. Kudos and Thank you!

Love it - Something that resonates more with me as I get older is how I connect experiences and appreciate good story tellers

This is beautifully done. It proves the point not only about stories, but movies and how they engage the brain.

nicely done. What a super power it really is, being able to create and deliver our communication by way of story telling. Such a basic truth that always seems to be under appreciated. I think the power of story telling also speaks to delivery formats as well.

Every person in the world has a critic snapping at their heels, regardless of the originator's intent. Your comments prove my point. Your story expressed here helps the world understand you just a little bit better. Those of which you speak may be attempting to offer their view of the world, or simply relating what science and study have identified. What are you selling? Now you have on at your heels. Everybody wins.

Tough to discern some of the narration in this video, as the narrator's voice trails off repeatedly at the end of several sentences, making the words less clear.

+Blake Herrington but I bet you remember the stories more than the statistics - she says that stories and statistics work together in persuading, no conflict between messages at all as far as I can see

I don't want emotion or personal crap interfering or over-riding my logic when it comes to making important decisions. That is what has put us in the crap hole we are in in America today !!! All this touchy feely crap, don't need it, nor want it. Yes, I am the 1.5% of the world's population that can deal directly with stats and data directly and without falling asleep. Facts and data to us are sacred, because they are immutable.

I don't get people's excitement here - thought it was zzzzz unmemorable. Just obvious stuff. And obviously a sell for whatever she's selling. Maybe I am really old and remember life before mobiles and internet. Yup, that's it, back in the days of the written letter. Now there's a novel idea...
