    So I tried to be super thorough for people who have never run moulds before. If you have a question please chuck it in the comments and then I can answer it and it might help others as well :)
    You can also run gelatine in our moulds, and prosaide for the super thin ones in the collection (some will be too chunky).
    MATERIALS
    Silicone flat mould (ideally our Freakmo x Dabbledark moulds ;) but home made is fine too! Or lovely Stuart Bray moulds, or Dabbledarks moulds from her etsy store. All highly recommended).
    Release (vaseline, or something like Epoxy Parfilm 4 spray release)
    Shellite/Naptha if you want to thin down your release, but make sure you read the MSDS because it is a nasty one. I wear gloves and work in a well ventilated area
    Isopropyl alcohol and paper towels for cleaning the moulds
    Acetone
    www.frendsbeau...
    Baldiez Cap plastic (or equivalent)
    Brush or airbrush (Paache H works well) or spray gun for industrial sized paint jobs (like for car paint jobs, with a huge air tank needed).
    Platsil gel 10 silicone
    Deadener
    Neills silicone pigments
    Flocking (red and blue are my preferences)
    Metal filling knives
    Cotton Tips
    Scales
    Disposable cups
    Tongue depressors/stirring sticks

    Thanks for this! I feel like there's a big gap between amateur SFX and total experts whose work is incredibly hard to follow and understand if you don't have prior knowledge but you sit right in the middle and really take time to explain the steps. I appreciate you 🤩

      Thank you!! I felt like in the past I'd kinda gone through stuff quickly to make it a less 'boring' video for those who aren't actually interested in learning the process but click the video anyway (??), but because it's such a technical thing I wanted to try to touch on much useful information as I could think of. I know I've still accidentally left stuff out, like about silicone inhibition from late, etc, but at least it has a lot more info in it than any of my past videos, and any of the other videos on youtube about the topic (to my knowledge).

    Which color pigments do you use to create the different flesh tones... Couldn't see the brand in the video.

    • @dabbledark

      The brand is Neill's Materials, pale flesh tone. They are located in the UK. Also used is Barnes white silicone pigment.

    On the crusty stitches one, what did you use to create the crusty scab stuff?

    • @dabbledark
      @dabbledark 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We used a combination of materials like cap plastic sheets and drying blood, but the crusty stitches tutorial will go over it all so no worries : )

    • @Freakmo
      @Freakmo  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I found the fleet street Scab Paste good for creating crusty scabs, and excess cap plastic for the dry skin (so when you're filling your moulds, just keep the extra cap plastic from the board for this purpose, powder it and store it), and I put a little bit of out of kit silicone in areas as well to amp up the colour and texture.

      Hi Nicolle, I would love if our moulds and prosthetics were biodegradable, but sadly silicone isn't. At this time, there is no suitable alternative on the market that we can use. Unless you know of an option?
